Chapter 3 #3

“I…” My sentence trailed off because my mind immediately went blank.

There was no way that much pleasure existed, and it didn’t come with a consequence.

Savior handled my body like it belonged to him and then dared me to say it didn’t.

I didn’t even know if I was of sound mind and body with the way he was hitting me.

All I knew was I couldn’t see myself anywhere else but right there.

He was fucking more than infatuation out of his system.

I woke up the next morning with nothing but sun beaming in my face.

The space was simply beautiful, and the visions from last night made it ten times better.

Who knew one man had so much energy and patience.

Climbing out of bed, I wrapped the cover around my nakedness and just looked out the window facing the blinding sun.

It was simply fucking beautiful, along with the tattooed backside of the man who had damn near rocked me to sleep last night.

As the memories zipped through my head, I turned to walk toward the washroom to take care of my morning hygiene.

Once I was finished, I returned to the cabin, where he stood talking on his phone. “I hear you, Taurus, shit. I should be back that way by the morning.” He took a seat on the bed, and I could feel his dark eyes on me as he continued his conversation.

I didn’t even look in his direction. I was too busy trying to find something to put on other than the sheet that I was currently dragging around. I went to move past him when I felt his hand at my side.

“A’ight. I’ma hit you back in a few.” He didn’t even give the person on the other side of the phone a chance to respond, because he had already removed it from his ear and tossed it on the bed.

Both of his hands were on my hips, and he was bringing me closer to him.

“You know why I chose to proposition you in the middle of Lake Michigan?”

I tucked my lip and shook my head.

“I’m a man used to being in control of everything around me, but that day in your place, I wasn’t.

That day, you were, and I didn’t feel that shit at all.

” His hand gripped the sheet before pulling it from my waist and soon my entire body.

He sat there on the bed just looking at my naked frame as he dropped the sheet between us on the floor.

I still had yet to speak because the moment was too thick, and I damn sure didn’t know what to say.

Seconds later, his hands began to caress my body, prompting me to close my eyes and tilt my head up at the ceiling.

His touch was intoxicating to say the least.

“If you have to be in control of everything, then you must be very bored with your life because there’s no surprise.” I looked down at him.

“Is that right?” he questioned before standing and getting in my face.

I tilted my head and looked at him. “Yup.”

“A nigga found a little surprise, but she owes me money.” He winked in my direction. Seconds later, he pulled his shirt from his body and handed it to me. “Put that on. I’d hate to have to knock one of my employees off because they got caught up focusing on the wrong thing.”

Once I had the shirt on, I went to put on the shorts that he so kindly had laying out for me, but he snatched and tossed them across the room.

“I’m tryna fuck throughout the day, which means I need easy access. My shirt is long enough for yo’ short ass.” He reached for my hand and led me onto the deck, where a picnic was set up with several plates of food. There was no way two people could eat all of that, but I planned to enjoy trying.

“Why did you come back to Chicago?” he questioned.

“I figured it was time to face all of the demons that I left here. Plus, I promised my father that I’d come back.”

He nodded his head. “So not because you wanted to irk a nigga’s nerves.” His eyes were on mine while he chewed his food. I knew he was joking because of the amusement in his face.

I laughed and pushed his shoulder. “I didn’t even know you, and no, you’re the one irking nerves.”

He chuckled before picking the tray of food up and putting it on the table.

Seconds later, he returned to the chaise, crawling between my legs.

His face was inches from mine before his lips found mine.

As if I weren’t in control of myself, I found myself straddling him and riding more than the ocean on that beautiful day.

It was the euphoria that having him inside of me gave and definitely the way I felt like he looked into my soul every single time we locked eyes.

That nigga knew what he was doing, and I definitely knew why old girl looked tongue tied in the elevator that day.

He leaned forward, dragging his lips across my chest before he started to suck at my flesh like he was looking for a nourishing source. I couldn’t help but allow my hand to cradle his head as I slowly rode him into oblivion.

TAURUS

Two weeks later

One thing about me was I hated the waiting game and all that other shit.

I knew what the fuck I wanted, and I went after it every time.

It was how I was raised, so my inability to have patience had nothing to do with me.

It was ingrained in a nigga, so if she knew what was best for her, then she would definitely keep that lil’ nigga that she busied her time with out of sight and out of mind, or they’d be fishing his ass out of the lake by the end of the month.

She was supposed to have been there about an hour ago, but she claimed she got held up, so I sent for her.

I guess those shitheads I paid for security were worth something, even if they weren’t securing shit.

Just when I was about to pick up my phone and dial her number, I heard the doorknob jiggle.

Seconds later, I heard the door open, and her heels clacked against the marble of my foyer.

The way her heels knocked against the floor let me know she was angry.

“You don’t get to send for me like I’m your property, Taurus White.” She walked around and stood in front of me with the angriest expression she could muster.

“Do I not?” I questioned, putting the glass of brown liquor to my lips. I couldn’t help but take her in before she walked forward and grabbed the glass from my hands. I watched her set it on the table before she took a seat in front of it on the same table.

“Was I not convincing enough when I assured you that I would be here as soon as I could? And where is this dinner you rushed me over here to eat anyways?” She sat up and put her elbows to her knees while she rested her face in her hands.

I leaned forward, making sure my face was inches from hers.

“I wasn’t talking about dinner for you. I was talking about for myself.

” I pecked her lips before she fell back laughing at what I didn’t mean as a joke.

“This ain’t working for me.” I fell back against the sofa and just looked up at the ceiling.

“What’s not working for you?” she quizzed.

“Sharing. I like yo’ ass, and I’m crazy as fuck, shorty, so you gotta drop your dead weight so I don’t have to do it for you.” I was dead ass serious, and I couldn’t even believe my-damn-self.

“How do you know you like me, Taurus?” she asked, leaning forward again. “I mean, it’s only been what? A month since you’ve pushed your way into my life? At the most, this could be infatuation or even a physical attraction. We don’t kn—” She started.

“The same way you know you like me, Lane. Stop tryna play them mind games. I ain’t that nigga that’ll let you slide with them.”

She pursed her lips. “I asked you a simple question.”

“And I gave you as simple answer with your lil’ rude ass. Matter of fact, yeen got no choice but to like me because I like you.”

“Says the man who had his security show up at my door holding out a phone and giving me no choice but to come with them or they’d throw me over their shoulder and into a damn trunk.” She wrinkled her nose up at that last part.

I laughed at that last part. I never said trunk, but I damn sure eluded to it. “Come here, man.”

She looked at me and had yet to move or respond, so I leaned forward and helped her get up a little until she was in my lap. “Taurus.” She said my name like it pained her.

“Now you know my first name?” I chuckled. She said my shit like pops used to.

“I’ve always known your na—” She was starting that babbling shit, but I didn’t want to hear it. I had other shit in mind.

Her sentence was halted by my hand when I gripped her chin and pulled her face into mine.

I had been wanting to taste her lips since she walked her fine ass in the door.

When she pulled back, she just looked at me before she pressed her face back into my direction.

It was just like I thought. She talked that tough shit, but she knew she was feeling me the way I felt her.

With space between our lips, she just looked at me before shaking her head. “Why would you want to deal with a female who isn’t loyal or—”

“Who said you wasn’t loyal?” I peered at her.

“Nobody. It’s just a thought that I have. How could I be loyal or trustworthy, but I’m here with you like this? Doesn’t that diminish my person to you?” She almost seemed ashamed.

I caught her chin in my hand and made her look at me. “That shit doesn’t bother me, especially because I know that he ain’t got you like this.”

“And how do you know that?” She pouted.

“Because of this… right now. If the nigga you have at home was doing his job, then I couldn’t have said shit in the world to get you here with me like this. Not a damn thing I could’ve done would’ve gotten you here like this with me.”

She nodded her head as her eyes went from my lips to my eyes.

She leaned in and covered my lips with hers as she got comfortable in arms. That right there was the beginning of something that would have my ass changing it up and testing my patience.

Lane was the type of woman I’d make sure the world was spinning at the right speed for.

The type that had all the confidence and self-love in the world, but she still didn’t see what I saw in her.

She was the type that often settled because she never encountered that nigga who was willing to chase her until she landed where she belonged.

She was the one who worked hard and handled business while forgetting about herself because she worked so damn hard.

“You still haven’t fed me, Taurus White. Instead, we have sat here and watched damn near all of the XXX movies except the last one. If you’re trying to starve me, just say it then.” She mugged me from the other side of the sofa.

I chuckled. “Ain’t nobody tryna starve your ass. If you’re hungry, go in there and fix something to eat, baby.”

She sat up and crossed her arms across her chest. “Baby, I don’t cook. In actuality, I hate it. I hate stepping foot in any kitchen with the intent to cook.” She looked disgusted, which had a nigga cracking the fuck up.

After I was done laughing at her silly ass, I nodded my head. At least she was honest. “In that case, let me see what Dee has cooked up.”

“Who is Dee?” she questioned just as I picked up my phone.

“Personal chef. I don’t do that cooking shit either, baby girl. I can’t even boil noodles, love.”

“Oh, we’re definitely gonna starve.” She dramatically fell back against the sofa.

“Hell nah. As long as I got a few dollars, we’ll be good.” I winked in her direction. Once I messaged Dee, I dropped my phone on my chest and looked at her. “Why the fuck you all the way down there?”

She laughed. “Because I wanted to lay at the end, and you wouldn’t move over, so I came to the other end.”

“Why you gotta be difficult, Lane?”

She shrugged. “I’m not di—”

“Come here.”

She looked from the side if her to me before nodding her head and getting up to come to me. I expected her to give me lip, but she did as I asked. She snuggled up next to me before looking up at me. “The only reason I came down here is to see what you’re feeding me.”

I busted up laughing because I didn’t expect that response.

“You keep talking your shit, and I’ma really starve yo’ ass.

” I rested my hand on her ass before firmly gripping it.

Lane didn’t know what she did to a nigga.

And there I was, tryna let her lead the way, but she had me in a mood to do some shit that I knew she wasn’t ready for.

She sexily laughed before draping her leg and her arm across my body.

“I’m tryna take it yo’ speed, baby, but you—”

“I like you, Taurus,” she murmured. “I’m just so used to thinking practical and being straightforward that being with you makes my head fuzzy. When I’m with you, I don’t think straight—hell, probably not at all. Instead, I feel you. I just think abou—”

I already knew what she was about to say. “Time don’t mean shit, Lane. We ain’t got history or none of that shit, but what are we doing right now? We’re creating that shit. History doesn’t mean shit if it ain’t with the right person. Give this shit a chance.”

She forced herself in closer to me. “I hear you.”

I was glad she heard me, but I wanted to know if she understood me. I saw something in Lane that day in that courtroom that I carried with me until I finally encountered her, and since I had her here like that, there was no way I was giving her or us up.
