AFTER THE LIGHT

Silence.

Not the calm kind.

The kind that comes after something has been completely destroyed.

Aria couldn’t hear anything.

Couldn’t feel anything.

Only light.

Blinding silver light stretching endlessly around her.

For a moment, she didn’t know if she was standing… or floating.

If she was alive… or gone.

Her fingers twitched.

Then—

Pain rushed back into her body.

She gasped sharply, dropping to her knees.

Air filled her lungs again.

Heavy.

Burning.

“…I’m… alive?”

Her voice echoed strangely in the empty space.

The silver light around her flickered.

Fading slowly.

Revealing something new.

Or perhaps—

Something old.

The Void was gone.

No dark sky.

No twisted ground.

No throne.

Just an endless, quiet expanse of pale light.

Aria pushed herself up slowly.

Her body felt weaker.

Not drained—

But changed.

The overwhelming Primordial energy that once roared inside her…

Was quieter now.

Controlled.

Balanced.

“…What did I do?”

A voice answered.

Not from around her.

From within.

You chose.

The Primordial spirit.

But it sounded different now.

Softer.

Fading.

Aria’s eyes widened slightly.

“Wait…”

The light around her shifted.

A figure slowly formed in front of her.

A man.

Tall.

Calm.

With silver eyes that mirrored her own.

Ancient.

Familiar.

Aria’s breath caught.

“…You.”

The First Wolf.

The source of everything she carried.

He looked at her with quiet understanding.

“You did what I could not.”

Aria shook her head slightly.

“I didn’t seal it… I didn’t destroy it…”

The First Wolf stepped closer.

“No.”

“You changed it.”

Aria frowned.

“I don’t understand.”

He raised a hand slightly.

The light around them shifted.

And suddenly—

She saw it.

The gate.

But it wasn’t tearing open anymore.

It wasn’t pouring out darkness.

It was… stable.

Balanced.

Not a wound in the world.

A boundary.

The First Wolf spoke gently.

“You did not close the Void.”

“You bound it.”

Aria’s eyes widened.

“…Bound it?”

He nodded.

“Two worlds… no longer at war.”

“No longer sealed.”

“But connected.”

Memories flashed in her mind.

The Void Emperor.

The massive being.

The final clash.

Her power colliding with theirs—

Not to destroy.

But to force balance.

To rewrite the rule.

Aria looked at her hands.

The silver glow was still there.

But different.

No longer wild.

No longer overwhelming.

“…So I didn’t have to die.”

The First Wolf smiled faintly.

“That was never the only path.”

The Primordial voice inside her faded further.

You found another way…

Aria’s chest tightened.

“Wait—don’t go.”

The First Wolf’s form began to dissolve into light.

“My time ended long ago.”

His eyes remained on hers.

“But yours…”

“…is just beginning.”

The light around him scattered into countless glowing fragments.

And then—

He was gone.

Silence returned.

Aria stood alone again.

But this time—

She didn’t feel empty.

She felt… whole.

A sudden pull yanked at her body.

The light around her collapsed.

The world twisted—

And vanished.

Lucian dropped to his knees.

The battlefield was gone.

The Void creatures had disappeared.

The gate—

Gone.

Only silence remained.

Smoke drifted through the ruined forest.

Rowan stood nearby, breathing heavily.

“…Is it over?”

The Alpha King didn’t answer.

His golden eyes were fixed on one spot.

The place where the gate had been.

Lucian clenched his fists.

“…Aria.”

No response.

Just wind.

Rowan’s voice dropped.

“She…”

Before he could finish—

A soft light appeared.

Right in the center of the clearing.

All three of them turned instantly.

The light grew brighter.

Then—

A figure stepped out of it.

Lucian’s breath caught.

“…Aria?”

The light faded.

Revealing her completely.

Standing there.

Alive.

Different.

Her silver eyes glowed softly.

Calm.

Powerful.

But no longer overwhelming.

Rowan blinked.

“…No way.”

The Alpha King’s shoulders finally relaxed.

Lucian stood slowly.

Taking a step toward her.

“You came back.”

Aria looked at him.

A small smile formed.

“I told you to trust me.”

Lucian let out a breath he didn’t realize he was holding.

Then he laughed quietly.

“…Yeah.”

Rowan grinned widely.

“I knew you weren’t dying. That would’ve been very inconvenient for me.”

Aria rolled her eyes slightly.

But her expression softened.

She looked around.

The battlefield.

The survivors.

The silence.

“It’s over.”

The Alpha King stepped forward.

“And the Void?”

Aria met his gaze.

“It’s no longer our enemy.”

Lucian frowned slightly.

“…What does that mean?”

Aria looked toward the sky.

“It means…”

“…the world just changed.”

Far in the distance—

The air shimmered slightly.

Not a tear.

Not a crack.

A quiet, stable ripple between worlds.

Aria’s eyes reflected it.

And for the first time—

There was no fear in them.

Only possibility.
