A VISITOR, NOT AN ENEMY

The moment the figure stepped through—

The air shifted.

Not violently.

Not like before.

No freezing cold.

No suffocating darkness.

Just… change.

A quiet ripple that passed through the clearing and faded.

The boundary behind the figure closed smoothly again, returning to its steady glow.

Everyone stood still.

Watching.

Waiting.

The figure now stood fully in their world.

Up close, it looked more… human than expected.

Tall, composed, dressed in dark layered fabric that moved like shadows but didn’t consume light. Its eyes glowed faintly—silver mixed with violet.

Alive.

Aware.

But not hostile.

Lucian didn’t lower his guard.

“Don’t move too far.”

Rowan whispered,

“Yeah, let’s not pretend we trust this already.”

The Alpha King stepped forward, placing himself slightly ahead of the group.

“You crossed into our world.”

His voice was firm.

“Speak your purpose clearly.”

The figure looked at him.

Then at the others.

Finally—

At Aria.

“You are the one who changed the law between worlds.”

Aria nodded.

“I am.”

The figure inclined its head slightly.

“Then I speak to you.”

Lucian didn’t like that.

“She’s not alone.”

The figure’s gaze flickered briefly to him.

“I can see that.”

Aria stepped forward.

“It’s fine.”

Lucian hesitated—

Then stepped back half a step.

Still close enough.

The figure continued,

“My name… does not translate easily into your language.”

Rowan muttered,

“Great start.”

The figure ignored him.

“You may call me Kael.”

Aria’s expression remained calm.

“Kael.”

She tested the name slightly.

“You said you didn’t come to fight.”

Kael nodded.

“Yes.”

“Then why are you here?”

Kael glanced briefly at the boundary behind him.

Then back at her.

“Because your action changed our existence.”

Elias stepped forward slightly, curious.

“How?”

Kael answered without hesitation.

“Before—you were sealed away from us.”

“Now—we are aware of you.”

Lucian frowned.

“That sounds like a problem.”

Kael shook his head once.

“It is a difference.”

Aria studied him carefully.

“You’re not like the others.”

“The creatures we fought.”

Kael’s expression didn’t change.

“They are not… like me.”

Rowan raised a brow.

“Meaning?”

Kael’s voice remained calm.

“They are born of instinct.”

“Of hunger.”

Aria’s eyes narrowed slightly.

“And you?”

Kael held her gaze.

“I am born of thought.”

Silence followed.

Lucian exhaled slowly.

“…So you’re the thinking type.”

Rowan added,

“Which somehow makes this more concerning.”

Kael didn’t react.

Instead, he took a small step forward.

Not aggressive.

But intentional.

“I came to see the one who created the balance.”

Aria didn’t move.

“You’ve seen me.”

Kael studied her more closely now.

His glowing eyes faintly shifting.

“Not just to see.”

“To understand.”

Aria tilted her head slightly.

“Understand what?”

Kael answered simply.

“You.”

The word lingered in the air.

Lucian’s jaw tightened slightly.

Rowan glanced between them.

“…Okay, I definitely don’t like that.”

The Alpha King’s voice cut in.

“You will keep your distance.”

Kael turned his gaze to him.

Then nodded once.

“Understood.”

Aria crossed her arms slightly.

“You said you came in peace.”

“Yes.”

“Then prove it.”

Kael didn’t hesitate.

He lowered his head slightly.

A gesture of acknowledgment.

“Then allow me to stay.”

That caught everyone off guard.

Lucian spoke immediately.

“Absolutely not.”

Rowan nodded fast.

“Yeah, no. That’s not happening.”

But Aria didn’t answer right away.

She studied Kael.

His presence.

His energy.

Different from the Void creatures.

Different even from the Void Lord.

Not empty.

Not consuming.

Just… unfamiliar.

“Why?” she asked.

Kael’s answer was quiet.

“Because if this balance is to last…”

“…someone must learn how to live in it first.”

Silence.

Heavy.

Uncertain.

The Alpha King looked at Aria.

“This is your decision.”

Lucian turned to her.

“Aria—think about this.”

Rowan added,

“Please think about this.”

Aria didn’t look at them.

Her eyes stayed on Kael.

On the unknown standing in front of her.

Then—

She spoke.

“…You can stay.”

Lucian froze.

“…What?”

Rowan blinked.

“Wait—seriously?!”

Aria finally looked at them.

Her voice steady.

“If this world has changed…”

“…then we can’t keep reacting like it hasn’t.”

Lucian ran a hand through his hair.

“…You’re unbelievable.”

But there was no anger in his voice.

Just concern.

Kael nodded once.

“Then I will not betray your trust.”

Rowan muttered,

“You better not.”

The wind passed through the clearing again.

Soft.

Uncertain.

A new chapter had begun.

Not of war.

But of something far more complicated.

Understanding.

And Aria could already feel it—

This decision…

Would change everything.
