Chapter 4 Bumping into Him Again

I reached the place.

Pushing the door open, I collided straight into someone.

I covered my aching nose and looked up.

The complaint was ready on my tongue.

But when I saw it was Lu Xuchen, I swallowed it.

I turned, grabbed my best friend's hand, and forced a laugh: "We entered the wrong shop. This can't be the new one."

I tried to pull her away.

My best friend didn't get it and pulled me back: "This is the new shop. I couldn't have picked wrong."

I pressed my lips together, unsure what to say.

My best friend had never seen Lu Xuchen, only heard me describe him.

"Hey, move. You're blocking my way."

Lu Xuchen's cold voice suddenly fell behind me.

I stepped aside quickly and watched him walk past to throw out trash.

His back looked tall and straight. Even in a plain hoodie, he looked handsome.

My best friend said beside me: "See? I told you he's a big handsome guy. Go get him. I'll help!"

Just then Lu Xuchen's dad came out from the kitchen. His eyes lit up when he saw me: "Little girl, you're here?"

I nodded.

He added: "I was going to message you that my son opened a new shop. Come try it—his cooking is even better than mine. I didn't expect you to show up."

I forced a laugh, regretting I hadn't asked more details.

It was too awkward to leave now, so I stayed with my best friend to eat Fried Skewers.

At that moment my best friend finally sensed something and whispered: "How do you know everyone here? Could this shop and the one next door be run by the same family?"

Her voice shook.

She sounded like she didn't believe her own words.

Until I nodded.

She panicked.
