Chapter 37
“Kha, listen, buddy. We have to go,” Mommy says.
“Where’s Tia Ny?” I ask her, tears in my eyes.
I don’t want to leave her.
“She’s not coming with us this time.” Mommy says, grabbing hold of my hand.
“Will she meet us there?” Looking up at her.
“One day.” She says, but she has tears falling down her face. “It will just be us for a little while.”
She has my sissy in her tummy. I can’t wait to play with her. I’ll be the best big brother ever. We walk for a while until we get to the train track. Mommy is on the phone, so I wait on the bench for her.
“Khalil.” I hear my daddy calling my name. “Come here, son.”
I look around for him, but I don’t see him anywhere. Standing up, I go to tell mommy when I hear someone behind me, so I turn around.
“Where’s your mom, Kha?” Daddy asks.
“She was on the phone over there.” I turn around to point at her, but she’s not there.
Where did she go?
“She left, buddy. Come on, let’s go home.” He says, taking my hand.
Why would she leave without me?
“Where’s Tia Ny, daddy?” I follow him to the car. When he opens the back door, I see Tia Ny sitting there. She opens her arms out for me.
“Come on, buddy. Let’s go home.” She says, with a smile on her face.
“What about mommy?” I ask.
“She left, buddy. Don’t worry, I’ll take care of you.” She says.
Why would she leave us? Did she not want me anymore?
As we head out of the parking lot, I see mommy searching around.
“Look, there’s mommy.” I say, pointing out the window.
“Hey buddy. Are you thirsty?” Tia Ny asks me.
She hands me a bottle of water. I take a drink and then feel sleepy. My eyes close and the last words I hear from my dad leave me confused.
“You will now be my wife, Nylah.”
My computer alerts me to an incoming message to Aluxis’ phone. Pulling open the message, I see it’s a video. Hitting play, I watch as the video comes into focus.
Is that Addri?
Addri is laying on the bed, chained up, and naked. I see Cade’s uncle, Kevin, coming closer to Addri.
“Sweet, sweet Addriana.” He says, rubbing his hand along her naked body.
What the fuck is this? I’ll fucking kill him!
“Please let me go. I won’t tell anyone.” She pleads.
Laughter from outside the camera view catches their attention.
“Please don’t do this. I love Khalil, and this will break his heart.” She pleads again.
The new man walks in front of the camera. I can’t make out his face from his angle.
“We aren’t worried about him.” Kevin chuckles.
“I did what you asked. Please don’t do this.” She has tears falling from her eyes.
Both men strip naked before violating the only girl I’ve loved.
Who is that man? He seems familiar.
Bending over, emptying the contents of my stomach.
I will kill him and get the name of the other man from him.
Turning back to the screen, I close out of the video. Pulling up Kevin’s information. I will track his ass down and gut him, along with anyone who gets in my way.
Why did she get sent this video?
Pulling up the feed in the house, I see her sitting on the couch between those twins.
Did they know?
They were supposed to keep her safe. She was their fucking sister. I won’t let them hurt mine. Now that I’ve found her, I can’t let her go. Not with him still out there.
I couldn’t save her, but I will save you.
Packing up what I need, I climb into my car. Pulling out of the driveway, the first stop is Kevin’s place.
