Chapter 19
THEIR KISS STARTED SOFT and sweet, a whispered promise between the two of them that this wouldn’t break them.
Riley already knew it couldn’t. What they had was bigger than the both of them. If soulmates were real, he was certain he was kissing his. And the way this kiss lit him up from inside made him even more certain that this was what he’d been looking for his whole life.
He’d never experienced that “spark” people always talked about when he kissed girlfriends, dates or even one-night stands over the years. It was just… nice. There was nothing electric about it.
Josh’s kisses, on the other hand, were making him feel like his body had been plugged into an electrical socket. Enough adrenaline ran through his veins to power him through a marathon, or one of Tobias’ more insane workouts.
This workout would be far more satisfying than any he’d ever done.
Smooshed underneath Josh’s hard body, his hands slowly explored everywhere he could reach. Riley let his tongue slightly graze Josh’s lip, asking for entrance.
Josh welcomed him, their tongues meeting softly between kisses. A soft groan broke the silence, Riley not sure who made the noise because he’d never connected so completely with another person, and then Josh deepened the kiss.
Josh was hard as steel as he lightly rolled his hips against Riley, their hard cocks rubbing against each other through their clothes.
Riley wrapped his legs around Josh, pulling him harder against him, and suddenly they were rolling on the ground wrestling like animals.
Clothes were ripped off piece by piece until Riley finally felt the comfort of Josh’s skin against his own.
Chest rubbing against chest, legs tangled together, hips grinding in a rhythm that had Riley racing toward his release.
Josh couldn’t hold back, either, and they moved together until they were both gripping each other, their spend releasing between their bodies, mixing together across their abs.
The release didn’t stop them from kissing, and they continued moving against each other until their come started to cool and grow sticky between them.
“I don’t want to stop kissing you,” Josh murmured against Riley’s lips.
“Shower?” Riley asked, and Josh grunted in agreement.
It turned out that getting off the floor while trying to keep kissing someone wasn’t as easy as they’d hoped, and they giggled and stumbled their way to the bathroom, their mouths never separating, teeth clacking as Riley turned on the water, neither of them in a hurry for it to warm up enough for them to slide under the spray together.
Once they were inside, their kisses continued. Josh reached for the bar of soap and trailed it over Riley’s body, inch by inch. Once Riley was clean, he grabbed the bar from Josh and took his turn cleaning his lover’s body, finally understanding the meaning of sensual.
Everything about this moment with Josh was sensual, beautiful, perfect, and made him feel a pang of regret that they didn’t figure this out sooner.
As Riley’s hands reached Josh’s ass, soaping and worshiping his voluptuous curves, his fingers reached his crease, sliding down until he could feel puckered skin, Josh thrusting forward in surprise.
“Oh, fuck,” Josh gasped. “No one has ever touched me there.”
“Did you… do you like it?”
“I didn’t hate it. Can I touch you too?”
Riley nodded against Josh’s swollen lips, their kisses never easing while Josh’s hands reached for the soap so his fingers would be as slippery. Riley grunted when Josh touched the same places on his body.
Josh matched Riley’s touches, both of them moving slowly and tentatively so they could figure out what they liked.
Thanks to Cole, they knew how this part worked, in general, anyway. There was a magic spot inside that would make everything feel even more intense.
As Riley eased one of his fingers past the tight ring, to the first knuckle, Josh did the same to him.
“Holy shit, that’s tight,” Riley said.
“Fuck, keep going.”
They both moved slowly, until Riley’s entire middle finger was encased in Josh’s tight heat, the simultaneous sensation of Josh’s finger filling him making the moment more life-changing.
He bent his finger slightly in the confined space and searched for a spongy spot. He must have found it because Josh moaned and thrust back on Riley’s finger.
“Oh my God, that felt so good. How’d you do that?” Josh begged.
They paused their kissing, and Riley held out his free hand to show Josh how to move it. He had learned over the years that showing Josh something made it easier for him to understand than trying to explain it.
When Josh nodded and resumed their kissing, Riley could feel the blunt finger inside him move, and it wasn’t long until Josh found that same spot, making Riley shout in response. Riley could only imagine how much better it would be with lube, since they had to keep adding soap.
“Fuck yes,” Josh said, his body taut and ready to snap in Riley’s arms.
Riley began moving his finger in and out of Josh, trying to hit that spot on each pass. Josh stilled and grunted through his release, his whole body tensing, including the finger Josh was pressing against Riley’s prostate.
When Josh settled, he resumed moving his own finger until Riley was spurting between them.
Their kissing slowed for the first time since they started, and Josh started giggling.
“What’s so funny?” Riley asked, a grin on his own face.
“We’re so gay now!” he shouted, nothing but delight across his face.
Riley couldn’t help but choke out a laugh at his best friend.
“I’m not sure that’s how it works, but yeah, that did feel pretty gay. So you’re… okay with that?”
Josh looked at him fondly, raising his hand so he could cup Riley’s cheek, the one on his face this time.
“I’m more than okay with it. We should keep doing that.”
“We absolutely will,” Riley said. “But first, I need you to get your hand off my face because of where it just was. That’s how you get pink eye.”
“Ope!” Josh said, laughing, and they resumed cleaning each other, again.
“Hey, does this mean we’re both bottoms?” Josh asked.
Riley adored this man. It figured his awakening would only leave him excited to learn more about himself, rather than be nervous about the future they had yet to face.
“I think it means we have lots of experimenting to do. Maybe we’re both vers.”
“We can’t be vers. We’re people, and people, places and things are nouns, not vers. Right?”
“You’re thinking of verbs. Vers is short for versatile, like you enjoy it both ways.”
“Ohhhh, okay, let’s be that, then.”
Josh may not have been bright, but he was the brightest part of Riley’s life. And he wasn’t ever going to let that change.
————————
After one more round of frotting and fingering in the shower, because they couldn’t help themselves, they decided to spend the rest of the night relaxing and basking in their new normal.
When Josh announced he was going to make Riley dinner for their first date ever, kicking Riley out of the kitchen, Riley decided it was a good time to hop on his laptop to look into Josh’s parents’ accident.
It was usually easy to find police records, since they were public, but Riley was surprised when he couldn’t find the record of the accident in the database.
He tried to break the law as little as possible when it came to his hacking, usually trying to help people. Hacking the Cherrywood Police Department’s system was something he tried to avoid.
The problem was, it was so easy to hack that it didn’t even feel illegal. The last time he broke into their system, he even wrote some code to leave it more secure. Against other people, at least, but not him.
It took another few minutes to scan the system for anything about the accident. He found a copy of a police report buried in the police chief’s computer. It was heavily redacted, and the document had been labeled with the date of the accident.
He could see Josh’s and his parents’ names, as well as the fact it was a head-on collision, but that was it. He kept scrolling through the document until the police report began all over again, except this one wasn’t covered in black redactions. It was a clean copy. Why did they have both?
In the spot where the officer on the scene had to note which airbags deployed during the accident, the officer wrote none with a question mark.
Equally concerning was the section on the driver of the vehicle that hit the Wus.
The car information was listed, their airbags deploying as expected, but there was no driver information.
Josh had said he remembered someone running from the scene to get help, but he didn’t remember the guy ever returning.
And the car itself? It had allegedly been stolen days before, another report attached to the document said.
As Riley scrolled through the report, he reached one more document, a witness statement.
The accident had happened in an intersection of a suburban community and it looked like one of the homeowners had seen what happened.
The name was redacted, blacked out so Riley couldn’t even guess at what it said, only mentioning it was someone who lived on the corner. Luckily, the statement wasn’t redacted.
The car was waiting to turn left because another car was coming from the opposite direction, but instead of driving through, it sped up, and the guy hit the standing car head-on.
The sound was horrible. A man jumped out of the car wearing a black motorcycle helmet and dressed in all black and ran away down Brookline Drive.
Riley’s instincts were right. There was no way that was an accident.
The good news? It was definitely not Josh’s fault.
The bad news was there was something fishy going on. Riley was thankful he had a professional detective for a friend. He had originally asked Garrett to look into their stalking client, but hopefully he wouldn’t mind giving his opinion on this one too.
Of course, then he’d have to tell Garrett how he got his hands on the report.
That could be awkward.
“Dinner’s ready!” Josh yelled as he breezed into the living room with a tray filled with his homemade dumplings, the aroma settling Riley’s nerves.
Josh looked so happy and unbothered that Riley didn’t have the heart to tell him about the report yet. It definitely wasn’t first-date conversation, and he was determined to do right by his guy.
“Oh man, you know I love your dumplings,” Riley said.
The smile he got in return could have powered a dozen solar panels, it was so bright.
Yeah, the police report could wait one more day.
