Chapter 47
Harlow
The phone call snapped me out of my slumber, followed by a growl.
My body finally gave up after his brutal attack.
With the injuries and lack of food, my body was on flight-or-fight mode but finally caved.
At some point, Vincenzo wrapped his body around mine and slept with his hand cupping my breast. His touch made my skin crawl, but I was too weak to fight him off.
Sleep would be what I needed to gain my strength back.
Vincenzo was getting comfortable, too comfortable, and I was ready to shatter.
Being strong was too goddamn hard. Why wasn’t anyone looking for me?
Caterina loved me. She was the missing part of my soul, and her men knew.
Why wasn’t Malachi banging on the door, freeing me from my prison?
There should be a whole team looking for me, tracing everything Vincenzo had done in the last month to find me. I couldn’t hold on much longer.
“What!” he hissed, glaring at me. “I’ll deal with it.
Until then, hide underground. I’ll make sure her people get a front row seat to everything I’m doing to her.
” Anger flashed in his eyes as he looked down at me.
I was the prey about to be mauled by the lion.
Caterina’s people did something. They were looking for me.
“Seems like you left an impression on the Moretti family. They want you back, but you’re mine!” He backhanded me, blood filling my mouth as I stumbled to the ground.
Vincenzo wrapped his fist tightly around my hair, tilting my chin up to look into his dead eyes.
My fighting was weak, but it was enough—until he grabbed my hands and restrained my arms. I kicked him in the jaw before he grabbed my ankles, securing them in place.
His fingers wrapped tightly around my throat as he growled angrily at me.
“I’m going to have so much fun. Her men will stop looking for you after this.”
I pulled at the restraints, causing the previous scabbed injury to rip.
Blood streamed down my forearms as Vincenzo grabbed an arsenal of knives.
His favorite thing was torture and knives.
My body jerked as he came back with a taser.
When I fought, he held his knife to my throat.
I wanted to lift my head and slit my own throat, but knowing Malachi and Luca were searching for me gave me the strength to keep fighting.
I didn’t know how much time passed or how long Vincenzo tortured me, but when he dropped the knife and taser, my body was in misery, more than it was before. Blood was soaking the sweat-drenched sheets as my head spun. There was vomit dripping down my chin and mixed into my hair as my chest heaved.
Vincenzo used his taser on various parts of my body and I held back my scream by biting my lip until I tasted blood. He wanted me to scream, and he almost got it when the electric pulse rushed through my body.
“S-st-stop! P-pl-please,” I sobbed, my body going limp as pain hit me like a semi-truck.
“You’re mine,” he growled, grabbing my jaw. “No one will ever have you again. You belong to me.”
He undid my restraints and carried me to the bathroom.
I allowed him to hug me to his body because I was too weak, too broken to fight him.
The tile was cold against my injured skin, and the icy water made my entire body jolt.
Vincenzo’s touch was gentle, like he truly cared about me as he cleaned my injuries and the vomit from my matted hair.
“Just be my perfect girl and I won’t hurt you. Do you think I enjoy it? I love you, Harlow. You were always meant to be mine.” He kissed my forehead, his lips burning my flesh, but I was too weak to pull away.
I accepted my fate.
At least for now.
They would find me. This whole time I thought they weren’t looking for me, but it was foolish to think so. Caterina would kill them if she were alive and they did nothing.
Once I was cleaned, he left me in the shower for a moment as he went back to the room.
A few minutes later, he returned, grabbing me bridal style before carrying me back to the bedroom.
The sheets were clean when he set me back down on the bed.
Vincenzo brushed my hair out of my face and tended to my wounds.
“You’re mine.”
