Chapter 16
CHAPTER 16
The two black SUVs arrived in the school parking lot at roughly noon that afternoon, ahead of their scheduled meeting with the principal. The men, in their amusement, stood back and watched as the four women got out of their vehicle and walked around the parking lot and looked at the school and surrounding area.
It was always interesting to watch the women of Alpha Squad work since they had their own quirky way of working. To most people, it seemed like the team was disorganized and unprofessional.
Yet, in reality, they were the most organized and loyal team one could ask for. They were nicknamed Rottweilers because of their tenacious ability to go for the throat of their suspects when they find the trail they were looking for.
While most just pat the victims on their heads and wish them luck, only to see them again in court if they find the bad guys, Alpha Squad went above and beyond for those they rescued. They helped them find counseling for both the drugs they were forced to take and help for the nightmares they knew the survivors would face once they returned back to normal society.
The team put their own money into a fund to help the survivors get back on their feet, be it a scholarship for college or help finding work and a safe place for them to live. They didn’t just walk away from those they rescued. They made them family.
Once you were considered family to these women, those who tried to harm them again, or crossed them in any way forfeited their livelihoods because the women of Alpha Squad, their captain included, were not women to be fucked with. They even had politicians afraid of them once word got out that they were on a case they could have been involved in.
“I have to say it’s always entertaining to watch these women work.” Hank chuckled as he watched the women walk around and look at different locations.
“Should have seen the lasses when they dealt with Diesel’s case. That one gave us several heart attacks. I thought there were going to be at least twice we had widow makers the way they handled that case.” Highlander shook his head as he watched his wife.
“Which time? When they purposely walked into the middle of two of the deadliest MC’s scouting land for a new club and then took their asses out? Or the one where they ditched us and walked into the middle of a vampiristic club where every single fucker had their gun drawn and aimed at three of theirs and nearly made the man of the hour, and us, shit our pants at how they casually laughed in the man’s face?” Jacko laughed as he looked over at Highlander quirking an eyebrow.
“They did what?” Hank’s voice going a little high on that question.
“They must be telling Hank about L.A.” Pratt laughed as she shook her head at Diesel.
“Ah, good times! It was pretty fun to dress like we did in the old days when we first started out with the department.” Diesel smirked at Viper as she blew him a kiss.
“And it was so much fun when we got our asses spanked afterwards.” Pratt winked at her husband as she blew him a kiss.
“I’ve created a monster!” Highlander pulled his wife in for a kiss. “Ye lasses find what ye were looking for?”
The four women turned to look at a couple of places to decide which one they felt were the best spots for someone to watch the school. They had all pretty much agreed on the same thing.
“Based off of what both girls put into their diaries, we believe that they were being watched. I think for Aiyannei and Enola, they were specific targets, and the others were collateral damage. It doesn’t negate that there’s an issue overall about Native women being kidnapped. I think it’s a real issue, just not this one.” Pratt answered, looking at her husband.
“You think they were the target, and the others were taken to mask that fact?” Hank verified, tilting his head to look at the women.
“It’s a known fact that Native American women have been begging for help in finding their missing women. If they had just taken Enola or Aiyannei, especially if they are doing it without the grandfather’s permission and retaliation against him, then there would be an investigation into Iyei’s background and family. The grandfather would unleash mortal hell against him and his family. Plus, the girls that were with them would be witnesses to who did it and more. By taking the other girls that were with them, they have extra prizes to use for more money, plus it would take suspicion off of Iyei’s family.” York explained to Hank their reasoning for thinking why the girls were targeted.
“Catori and Jace are going to be the hard sells on this. Warcloud is going to lose his shit either way. But the gloves need to come off where Catori is concerned. I think she knows more than she’s telling us.”
“How do you want to handle that part?” Hank asked, looking at the women for their answer.
“Have all four of them at the grandfather’s office. We want to hit them all at once. No surprises and no chances of them calling the other to warn them,” Diesel responded first, knowing what her teammates were thinking.
“Four?” Viper asked, looking at his wife in confusion.
“Catori, Jace, Warcloud, and Iyei. No running for that fucker. His father will be there anyway once he knows we handed Iyei his ass.”
Without looking at anyone for a response or an expression, the four women walked away from the men who had nothing but shocked looks on their faces at their statements. They knew just from that answer that all hell was about to break loose in that meeting tomorrow morning.
“Oh, Highlander, can you reach out to your baby brother and let him know what’s going on. I have a feeling once that bit of news is let out, there might be some visits in his location.” Raso informed her brother-in-law.
