Chapter 18

CHAPTER 18

The women were taken off the leash. That was a dangerous thing for the bad guys, and those who were hiding things that they didn’t want to come to light.

Those who have tried to cross them in the past usually wound up being revealed, painfully. The women left no rock untouched.

They had no mercy on people who stood in their way trying to find the victims of human trafficking. They had no qualms of ending someone’s life who purposely harmed those they caused harm to.

“Thank you, Captain,” The four women said at the same time.

“What are you working with here?” Captain Irby asked the women.

“Three girls as of right now. There are more that have gone missing in the last six months. They were last seen here at the high school by multiple people. Their bus driver, which the principal and the detective are refusing to let us speak to, was possibly the last one to see them after the bus driver dropped them off at their location. All the girls are Native American’s who are part of the Blackfoot tribe.”

The four women continued to give their captain the rundown on the case, ignoring the principal and the huffing detective all together. The men who were with the women just took their seats and sat back, crossing arms over their chests waiting until they were needed.

“So, the captain of the Tribal Police has officially requested your help on this case, working under Hank’s direction?” Captain Irby asked, clarifying the information.

“Yes, ma’am. This is their specialty, and I could use the help on this one. They met Captain Hosa Warcloud. He is pleased with their handling of it so far,” Hank confirmed to the captain.

“Very well. Detective, my girls are officially off the leash. Check around the country with other agencies who have worked with them. They are not to be fucked with. Your best bet, unless you’re guilty, is to work with them and use their expertise to find these girls.”

“Captain, as they have said, these girls are Indians. My hands are tied with this investigation.” Detective Smith glared at the women in his statement.

“You seriously need to restudy your law books dude. If the Tribal Police request your help, then you are able to investigate, alongside with them, just like we are fucking doing. They can’t investigate off the reservation, which is why they asked for your fucking help. You can’t investigate on the reservation, yet you can be with them when they talk to families, look at the victim’s room and so forth.” York told the detective, rolling her eyes at his stupidity.

“And if the fucking person who kidnapped these Indians is one of their own and on the reservation? I can’t arrest him!” Detective Smith yelled at York.

“Detective, I suggest you watch your yelling at my detective before I have you taken off the case and have your badge. If it is one of their own, then he would be arrested by the Tribal Police and then dealt with by their courts. They do have their own courts.” Captain Irby said through the phone, ice clearly in her voice.

“Yeah, right! Especially when it’s one of their own hindering the fucking investigation!” Detective Smith laughed as his hands flew into the air.

“I’m sorry, what the fuck did you just say?” Captain Irby asked, shock in her voice. “Ladies, do you know what he’s talking about?”

“No. But I think we might have an idea. The mother of one of the girls missing is the daughter of the tribal chief. We have a meeting with him in the morning. There are a few things that we discovered over the last two days that we are digging into further.” Pratt answered, looking over at her teammates, her eyes wide at the information the detective just blurted.

“The mother, Catori, has two daughters missing. One is Aiyannei Blackfoot, who went missing six months ago and the youngest daughter, Enola Blackfoot, went missing earlier this week. Turns out, Warcloud is the father of both girls and didn’t know it. The girls are products of affairs the mother had with the captain. Long story we will have to fill you in on later.” Raso informed her captain of the information.

“Wait, did you say the girl’s last name is Blackfoot?”

“Yes, ma’am. Why?”

At that question, the four women turned to look at each other in confusion. Was there more to this case than they realized.

“Not sure. Bravo team did a raid yesterday. There were a couple of Native American girls in the sweep that were rescued. One is pretty badly hurt. One of the girls said that name was her name. I need to find the reports and talk with those on Bravo Squad. Don’t quote me on anything until I call you back. Don’t want to give any one any false hope.”

We’ll be here, cap. We meet with the mother and everyone tomorrow. Shake them up a little bit,” Diesel smirked at her teammates with that bit of information.

“Good. Kick ass and take names. Keep me updated. I’ll do the same. Hank, watch my girls. Tell their husbands they are to be their backup or else.”

“We are here, ma’am. They’ve had us as backups the whole time.” Highlander winked over at his wife.

“Good. I’ll talk to you ladies as soon as I get the information I need for you.”

“Now, the dick measuring contest over with?” Pratt asked as she hung up the phone and put it away.

“What do you need to know?” Detective Smith shrugged and waved his hand at the principal to go ahead.

Two hours after arriving at the high school, the group left with even more questions than answers. They had a suspicion that there was someone close to the girls involved in the case.

Now they were wondering if their theory was even more correct than they had originally thought. They had word sent to Oz to do more digging into the Alberty family and find what information he could on the brothers.

They weren’t going into the meeting with the grandfather unarmed. They were going to make sure what they went in with made the man very wary of them.

They were going to know every move that the grandfather had made since the day he dropped from his mother cooch. Same with Iyei’s, starting with his grandfather.
