Chapter 28

CHAPTER 28

The group arrived back at Hank’s place several minutes later and piled into the house. When they arrived, they could tell Warcloud and Jace were on the edge.

“What the fuck was that back there? Do you people always shoot first and ask questions later?” Jace shouted at the women.

“Yep. Pretty much. I mean, if you’re shooting at me first, I’m going to return fire since I like living,” Pratt responded sarcastically. “Put the guest of honor over there in the chair. cuff him to the chair.”

Diesel and Pratt waited while Viper and Highlander cuffed the sole survivor of the shootout to the chair. They looked over towards the staircase where their team sergeant, Sgt. Helen Brocard, teammates Raso and Tarilyn “Taz” Cortez stood at the base of the stairs.

“Package okay?” Pratt asked the three women.

“Yeah. For now. York stayed behind?” Sgt. Helen Brocard asked as she walked towards the group.

“Yeah. Her, Jacko, and Texas stayed behind to deal with the locals. This one managed to survive with a shoulder wound and a boo boo on his knee. Once we interrogate him, then we’ll probably send him to the hospital with the locals,” Diesel answered, popping her gum.

“Such violence.”

Diesel looked over at Jace when he made the comment. “Not everything is rainbows and gum drops kid. Just ask any man in this room or your mother.”

“You bitches are going to get your asses handed to you. My boss finds you, then you’re going to wish you never fucking crossed him!”

“Oh, lookie, he does talk,” Diesel clapped as she sarcastically rolled her eyes at the suspect.

“You know, if I had a penny for every time a dumb fuck said that I’d be a rich bitch. Hell, the whole team would be fucking millionaires right now. Start talking asshole. Who’s your boss that’s going to think he’s man enough to take us on?” Pratt asked, popping her own chewing gum.

“The Alberty’s are going to make you rue the day you were born and crossed their paths.”

The man spit at the women before laughing at them. The women all looked at each other and rolled their eyes before breaking out in laughter, bending at the waist and holding their stomach.

“News flash, dumbass. The only one who’s going to cry like a bitch about the fact he was born a dumbass is your boss. He’s already busted by the big man himself. Chief Blackfoot is probably sticking said foot up the man’s ass and shoving it off the reservation.”

“Women are only good for fucking and taking care of the house. Obviously, your men are pussies since they haven’t put you bitches in your place. You don’t have jack shit on the Alberty’s. You’ll never find those fucking girls. They are being taught their fucking places in society.”

The five women burst into more laughter at the man’s statement, only making him madder. Once the women were done laughing, which had the men confused as hell at why they were laughing, they sobered up.

“Bitch, please. The only reason your boss set you on our asses was because he knew we uncovered his entire operation. If he had nothing to worry about or everything we found out was a lie, he wouldn’t have sent your pathetic ass after us. So, please, tell me again how your boss has tried multiple times, hell, twice today, and failed each time to take us out. How did you find out about our teammates coming in?” Pratt asked, putting pressure on the man’s knee, making him scream out.

“Fuck. You,” the man grunted in pain.

“Nah. Already had dick today. Twice in fact. Now, answer the question.”

When the man refused, Pratt and Sgt. Brocard nodded at Diesel and Taz to proceed with what they did best. Those two were the best when it came to interrogation tactics.

It didn’t take long for the man to break once those two ganged up on the man. Two minutes after they started the man screamed out Fullman’s name as he begged them to stop.

“I should have fucking known it,” Hank mumbled as he rubbed his face with his hands.

“Hank, it’s not your fault. He worked for you, and you trusted him. He broke that trust and paid for it with his life. Karma took care of him for you. Looks like the idiot went to the Alberty’s about the rest of the team coming in. We never mentioned the package, nor did they tell us what the package was that they were bringing, so that tells me there’s another person out there that knows what is going on. Sarge, did you let the captain know of the situation?” Diesel asked, looking over at her team leader.

“Yeah. She’s reached out to San Diego PD. Dom called back just a few minutes ago, which is why I came down the stairs. One of the officers who was with us the night of the raid let the Alberty’s know that we raided one of their places in San Diego. He told them we were on the way to Montana,” Sgt. Brocard sighed heavily as she relayed the message.

“Dom get the fucker?” Pratt asked, her voice going dark.

“Yeah. Dom said he was in custody. Caught red handed on the phone with a Citali and Gabe Alberty.”

“If he was on the phone with them when Dom caught him, they know their network is starting to fall,” Diesel pointed out to the rest of the group.

“Catori, contact your dad. Make sure he’s okay. I wouldn’t put it past them to take him out if they think he’s going to cut ties with them,” Pratt turned towards Catori.

“You don’t think they could hurt my grandfather, do you?” Jace scoffed as he looked at his mother pulling out her phone.

“At this point, yeah, I do. Especially if they think they have the upper hand right now,” Pratt softly told the kid.

“How does this help us find my sisters?” Jace asked, looking at the women.

“Jace? Momma? Where’s Enola?”
