Chapter 30
CHAPTER 30
Two agonizing days later, the team doing stake outs on the locations known to be owned by the Alberty’s, they were able to work out a plan to execute at the same time on both locations. There still had been no sightings of Enola or any of the other girls that had been kidnapped at the same time as she was.
They were still hopeful that the girls were in one of the locations. If not, then they were going to have to take precautions to make sure at least one of the Alberty’s survived the raid so that they could interrogate them to find the missing girl.
They already knew that the men were going to go down fighting. In the Alberty’s eyes, the women would be easier to deal with than the cartel.
Once Hank had managed to pull several of his people in from assignments for the next seventy-two hours, he’d reached out to his contacts in the local police department to have them send someone to each location so that they could assist in the raids in both locations. Plans were discussed, discarded and re-evaluated for the best way to accomplish everything that needed to be done.
Once that plan had been discussed and accepted, everyone suited up and headed out. They were hitting both places at the same time so that there were no chances of warnings being sent out to either party. Jace and Warcloud were on Chief Blackfoot duty, staying with him and Catori to make sure they hadn’t slipped past their surveillance.
Aiyannei was placed in a secret location that only Hank and the women of Alpha Squad knew about with security that they trusted to watch the girl. Everyone was prepared no matter what happened.
It was to end today. One way or the other, the Alberty’s were done, and they were going to find Enola and bring her home.
Alpha Squad and Red Scorpions were hitting the place registered to Gabe Alberty, since it was the primary place that Citali was known to be staying at. Hank, the people he chose, and members of the Redford PD were hitting the residence registered to Anam Alberty.
Once they had been able to confirm the men were in the residences, they counted down from five. On one, all hell broke loose.
Weapons drawn, the women nodded at Highlander to kick in the front door and shouted ‘on the floor’ as they threw in a flash bang and forced their way into the home. Pure pandemonium was unleashed as the men shouted the orders behind the women.
Citali and the white man that Aiyannei had described to them were on the couch, butt naked with one of the missing girls between them, crying her eyes out and begging them to stop hurting her. Both men yelled as they pushed the young girl to the floor and jumped to their feet.
The unidentified white man reached for a weapon that had been laying on the table but never completed the reach. He landed face first onto the table with a loud thud before sliding to the floor in a heap.
York and Rameriez wrestled Citali to the ground and put him in handcuffs before going to the young girl curled into a ball in the corner. They caught movements out of the corner of their eyes, which drew all weapons to the entrance to the hallway.
Standing there in the archway of the hall stood Gabe Alberty with a gun in his hand, aimed at a young girl’s head. When they got a good look at the girl, they gave thanks that Warcloud and Jace weren’t with them.
“Let her go, Gabe. This is the last thing you want to do,” Diesel warned the man, her weapon raised toward him.
“I’m dead either way. You bitches are dead, too. You just took out the governor of Montana’s son. Congratulations on fucking your careers,” Gabe laughed at the women.
“We have video of what really happened here, Gabe. Bigger men than the governor have tried to take us out and they have failed. Hand Enola and the other girls over and we can end this peacefully.”
“No! I’m taking this little bitch…”
He didn’t get to finish his sentence. Diesel rushed forward to assist Enola who was stock still after the shot was fired.
“What’s your name, kiddo?” Pratt asked softly as she put her weapon away, pushing the guys back to give the girls room to breathe.
“Enola. Who are you and where are you taking us?”
“Enola Blackfoot?” Diesel asked, standing next to Pratt.
“How do you know my last name?”
“Because your mother and Captain Warcloud from the Tribal Police Department asked for our help to find you and the others. We’re here to take you to the hospital to be checked out and then let you go back to your moms.”
“No. Iyei and them will my family…”
“No, they won’t honey. Citali will never see the light of day, nor will Anam. Iyei was killed last night by his own father and brothers. Aiyannei is waiting to see you, along with your brother, Jace and your parents,” Pratt reassured the terrified young girl.
“They are all dead? They won’t be able to hurt us again?” Enola asked hesitantly, like she was afraid to believe the truth.
“Yes. They can no longer hurt you.”
“But my grandfather? He sold us to them.”
“Who told you that, sweetie? The Alberty’s?” York asked as she joined Pratt and Diesel.
“Y-yes. They said that’s why no one was looking for me or my sister.”
“Honey, they lied. Your grandfather was trying to find you, too. In fact, he’s not even trying to find anyone to marry either of you anymore. He’s allowing you to do as you wish. Even go to college or join the Air Force like you had talked about,” Diesel smiled over at the young girl whose eyes lit up at the information.
“Really? He’s not going to force us to get married? Aiyannei and I can join the military like our father did?”
“Wait, you knew about your father?”
Pratt, Diesel and the others looked at each other in shock. They had been under the understanding that the girls didn’t know anything about Warcloud.
While Aiyannei knew about Warcloud in general, she never truly believed what they had told her, until now. The fact that Enola knew and celebrated the idea was new for them.
“Yes. I-I read my mother’s journal one night. I found it by accident and saw that my mom never loved Iyei and she was forced to marry him to protect our real dad. It kind of explained why Iyei treated us all the way that he did. What happens now?”
