Chapter 2 Just Medicine
The door opened.
A tall man stood in front of me.
His features were sharp, almost aggressive.
His gaze lingered on my face.
“You’re Lin Xu’s younger brother, Lin You, right?”
I hadn’t recovered yet.
Through the gap,
I saw Older Brother on the bed.
Fully clothed.
A cotton swab and a small bottle sat on the nightstand.
Older Brother sat up. “You’re here?”
He grumbled. “This damn mouth ulcer is killing me.”
So it was just a mouth ulcer.
I almost died of fright.
I let out a breath.
The man gave Older Brother a disgusted look.
“Putting medicine on an ulcer and acting like it’s the end of the world.”
Older Brother walked over. “This is Jiang Huai.”
I smiled at him. “Hello, Older Brother.”
Jiang Huai’s lips curved slightly. “I prefer the way you said it on the phone.”
I paused,
then smiled.
Older Brother dragged me to the living room. “Jiang Huai’s console is awesome. Come play.”
We played in front of the huge TV for a while.
Older Brother got a call and rushed out.
I started to leave too.
Jiang Huai sat beside me and picked up a controller. “Older Brother’s gone. I’ll play with you.”
I wasn’t done yet.
So I kept playing with Jiang Huai.
I lost every round.
His skills were way better than Older Brother’s.
I couldn’t win once.
After too many losses,
I started acting cute. “Let me win one, Older Brother~”
The corner of his mouth lifted.
He let me.
I won and jumped up excitedly.
Jiang Huai looked at me. “Hungry? What do you want? Older Brother’s treating.”
This Older Brother was way more generous than my real one.
My real one would steal my money if he could.
Treating me to food? Never.
I looked at him hopefully. “Anything?”
He raised a brow. “Call me Older Brother again, and anything goes.”
A free meal for one word.
Best deal ever.
“Older Brother, I want seafood.”
I’d been craving it forever,
but I was broke.
Jiang Huai stood and made a call.
Soon a chef arrived with fresh seafood
and started cooking in the kitchen.
I finally understood what rich life felt like.
Older Brother was living the dream.
I was green with envy.
Why didn’t I have a rich friend like that?
