Chapter 6 The Words That Froze Me

He sat beside me, the faint scent of his body wash drifting over.

"A You, anyone chasing you at school?"

I blinked, then puffed up a little. "No one's done it to my face, but I got posted on the confession wall after that basketball game."

"A ton of younger girls added my QQ."

I threw the question back at him. "What about you? Older Brother, you're crazy handsome. Girls must be all over you."

Jiang Huai looked straight at me.

"I don't like women."

I went blank for a few seconds before it sank in: he was gay, and I was sharing a bed with him right now.

I scooted away without thinking.

He turned his head and looked at me.

I froze, not daring to move.

Suddenly he reached out and pulled me back.

My eyes locked with his dark ones.

"Sleep in the middle. You'll fall off."

I made a small sound.

He lay down.

"You planning to sit up all night?" he asked.

I mumbled, "I snore when I sleep. I should go sleep with Older Brother instead."

"No need. I sleep like the dead. You won't wake me," he said calmly.

I closed my eyes, but the truth wouldn't settle.

Staying stiff like this wasn't an option. I'd just deal for one night.

I lay down.

Only a thin layer of clothes between us.

I could feel the heat of his skin.

At some point Jiang Huai leaned close to my ear, voice low and teasing. "A You, good night."

A shiver ran through me.
