Chapter 9 Morning Evidence
The next day, Older Brother's knocking woke me.
My head was full of last night's mess.
And right then I was still trapped in Jiang Huai's arms.
One of his conditions for helping me.
But he kept his word.
He just held me all night. Nothing else.
He didn't wake, just frowned. "What?"
"Jiang Huai, where's my brother?!"
I shook my head at Jiang Huai frantically.
He glanced down at me and smiled. "No idea."
Older Brother sounded pissed outside. "That little brat touched my stuff. My collection's obviously been messed with. If I catch him, he's dead."
I wanted to cry.
It wasn't me. It was him.
I glared at the real culprit.
Jiang Huai just smiled faintly at me, saying nothing.
I got mad and kicked him.
Lost my balance and crashed to the floor.
I yelped in pain.
Jiang Huai chuckled softly, got up, and lifted me.
Older Brother suddenly said, "Wait—Jiang Huai, is someone in your room?"
"I just heard a yelp."
I looked at Jiang Huai in panic.
He called toward the door, "None of your business. Go away. You scared the one in my arms."
"Well damn, you're dating and didn't tell me? Not planning to introduce them?"
I whispered near his ear, "Get him out of here fast."
Jiang Huai set me on the bed, covered me with the blanket.
Then he opened the door. "He's shy. Wait outside for a bit."
Older Brother tried to peek in.
Jiang Huai pushed him out. "Out!"
