Chapter 15

The sun blinding me through the blinds wakes me up. I forgot to make sure they were closed last night. I sit looking around for any sign of Blaze or Aaron, but neither are in sight. There’s not even a sign that they were here last night. It’s almost as if it was all a dream, but the delicious soreness between my legs lets me know otherwise.

My phone dings with a text and I reach for it on my nightstand.

Daren: Yo...I know you’re the boss & all but I was wonderin if u were going to bring your ass up here anytime today?

I look at the time. 4:37 pm. Shit. I can’t believe I slept in so fucking late.

Me: Omw.

I send my reply, rushing out of bed and into the shower, going through the motions. Washing my hair, body, throwing on the basics of my makeup, before throwing on a black-sleeved, off the shoulder sweater, a pair of dark blue skinny jeans, and my long leather heeled boots.

I’m out the door in my next moment, hopping in my car, starting her up. The engine rolls under me, vibrations coming through the seat and a thrill of excitement runs through me. A smile slips on my face, driving this beauty always makes me happy.

Spinning out of the driveway, I make my way to the bar. I pull up a lot quicker than I usually do. A black Jeep sits in the parking lot next to Daren’s truck and I eye it suspiciously, wondering who the hell could be here this early.

I walk in, looking around, noticing a few regulars, before stopping dead in my tracks.

There he sits, his muscular figure relaxed on the bar stool. His black leather jacket hugging him perfectly, his perfect hair in a mess on his head, but in that sexy way. His plump lips break into a smile, his dimple popping out. A deep laugh escapes him and heat unfurls in my stomach. Memories from last night send my mind spiraling and I have to shake my head, to clear my thoughts before I jump his bones here and now.

I continue toward him, Daren’s hands are in the air, telling him an exaggerated story I’m sure. Blaze must sense me nearby, because his eyes snap to mine. Fire burns through them as he takes me in, and a blush erupts on my cheeks. Making my way around the bar, I throw my purse on the counter behind me, then turn to face the two dumbasses in front of me. Crossing my arms in front of my chest, I glare at Daren, before switching my gaze to Blaze. His smile never falters.

“What are you doing here?”

I ask, my words coming out more breathless than I intended.

“I was just telling Daren here, that you were taking off for the next couple of weeks…didn’t you tell him?”

Blaze says, a sly smirk covering his face.

My eyebrows furrow, dropping my hands to my side. “No, I’m not…”

“Actually, you are.”

His eyes narrow at me, daring me to argue.

“What’s he talking about?”

Daren asks, looking between us.

“I forgot…Blaze needs a little help with his job and offered me the position. I would make enough money to cover the future costs of the bars, so I took it. You’re okay with running the bar for me, while I’m gone?” I ask.

Worry etches Daren’s face and he stares me down. “Yeah, of course,”

he finally says. “Are you sure you’re okay?” he whispers quiet enough for only me to hear, but I can see Blaze trying to eavesdrop from the corner of my eye.

“Looks like we better get going then. The job starts tonight.”

Blaze stands, throwing down enough money to cover his one whiskey and give Daren a good ass tip.

“Cea?”

Daren asks, looking at me. “I’m fine…We’ll talk soon,” I reassure him, placing a kiss on his cheek. He nods his head, finally relenting and letting me go.

Blaze follows me back out of the building. I stop as I make it to my vehicle, then turn around to face him. He stops a foot away from me, sliding his hands in his pocket. Taking a deep breath, as if he's preparing to hear everything I’m about to say. I’m sure he expects me to yell, which if I’m being honest, I probably will.

“What the fuck was that?”

I ask, venom pouring from my words.

“Getting you two weeks off at least,”

he says nonchalantly.

“I didn’t need you to do that,”

I say, trying to think of a way out of this.

“Look, I don’t give a fuck what you think you needed. You’re taking the two fucking weeks off. You clearly need a fucking break, not to mention your other job,”

he says, making quotation marks in the air. “Starts tonight. And I don’t need your head all over the place when we’re doing this. It needs to be done quickly and perfectly. No errors.”

There’s no room for argument.

I let out a huff, no point in arguing when he clearly isn’t going to listen to a word I have to say anyway. As my hand goes to reach for the handle of my car, arms wrap around my waist. I’m suddenly looking down at the ground, my body thrown over Blaze’s shoulder.

“What the hell Valentino,”

I screech. “Put me down! I can walk by myself.”

“I would, but all my money is on you trying to get back in your car and going home. Which you will not be going back to for the foreseeable future.”

“What the hell do you mean I won’t be going back home? Also, I can’t leave my car here!”

I yell, punching his back.

“Don't worry about your car, I’ll have it retrieved. You won’t be going back to your house, because it’s obviously easily broken into and it’s easier to keep you safe if you’re with me,” he says.

“Why do you care?”

“I care because you’re mine. You may not agree with it yet, but you will.”

With that, he throws my body into the front seat of his Jeep, making sure to buckle me up himself.

His eyes linger on mine, his lips so close, I could lick them.

“I’m going to make you fall in love with me,”

he says softly, the words come out as a fact and not an opinion. I can’t find the words to give him a reply, but it doesn’t matter as Blaze places a gentle kiss on my lips. Fuck.

I pull up to Aaron’s house, parking behind his white Camaro, Cea in the passenger seat, arms folded across her chest, a pout on her face. She probably doesn’t realize it yet, but she will never be returning to that dump she calls a home. Exiting the vehicle, I make my way around to the passenger side, Cea glaring at me through the windshield.

I yank her door open, leaning in and undoing her seatbelt. Before she can protest, I pull her out of the seat and into my arms, carrying her bridal style into the house.

“I can walk on my own, you asshole,”

Cea hisses.

A smirk breaks out on my face. “You could, but I’d much rather carry you,”

I wink at her.

She scoffs, rolling her eyes.

The smell of steak is in the air and my stomach grumbles in response, reminding me I haven’t eaten anything since yesterday morning.

“Honey, we're home,”

I yell, setting Cea down and making my way to the kitchen.

Aaron looks up at me from his spot by the oven. He stands there shirtless, his hair in a mess from not having to work today and just being lazy around the house. A lazy smile sprawls over his lips, and I can’t help but devour his body. His tan skin looks flawless covered in tattoos, starting at his neck all the way down to his ankles. I don’t think there are many spaces left he hasn’t decorated.

“Smells good,”

I say, walking over and placing a kiss on his lips. He leans into the kiss, a moan slipping free. I thrust my tongue into his mouth, savoring every last drop of him I can get. A voice clears behind us and Aaron's head snaps up to see who our guest is. I watch as his eyes narrow on Cea. A mixture of hate and desire shining through. I can’t help but chuckle. We’ll have to work that out real soon.

“Well, well look what the cat dragged in,”

Aaron growls, his perfect teeth on full display, as if he’s daring her to say something snarky. Knowing my girl, she has a comeback on the tip of her tongue.

“The cat didn’t drag shit in, asshole. If anything, it was kidnapped and is being held against its will, stuck with two of the biggest cock wads it’s ever encountered.”

“That’s not the only thing that's big…or do you need a reminder?”

He cocks his head to the side, grabbing a hold of his cock through his sweatpants, to prove just how big it is.

Cea starts striding toward him, face screwed up in disgust, but I catch her by the waist.

“Shhh, calm down Mama,”

I coo in her ear. I can feel the shiver running through her body and my cock twitches at the reaction. “Let’s try to play nice…at least until after dinner,” I plead.

Cea scoffs, making her way to the whiskey cabinet and helping herself to a tumbler full. Looks like she is already making herself at home.

Aaron returns his attention to the food he's preparing and my phone goes off with an incoming call. I drag my phone out, stomach recoiling at the name flashing across the screen. Making sure Cea and Aaron are distracted, I slip into the back bedroom.

“What’s up?”

“Part of your job is tonight,”

Elijah's deep voice says through the phone.

“I thought you needed more information,” I taunt.

“Oh don’t worry, I do. My men found out one of the men in charge are having a skin auction tonight at Sesso Puro’s. I need you to save who you can and make sure none of the men leave alive,”

the last word ends on a growl.

Alarm bells go off in my head, the name of the club sounding familiar.

“That’s a high end, private gentleman's club, I’m not sure how you expect me to get in there without an invite. Especially, if they’re auctioning fucking women,”

my words coming out angry.

“Don’t worry. I’ll have two tickets transferred to you shortly with a photo of your target. Check your trunk.”

Two tickets? My mind starts racing, knowing he expects me to drag Cea along. Trying to think of a way I can get away, without involving her in this mess when Elijah's voice breaks through my train of thought.

“Oh and Blaze, make sure Cea’s there helping you. She has a lot more to gain and lose in this than you do.”

I don’t have time to argue before the call ends. I rub my hands through my hair, aggravated at this whole situation.

“So, I guess we’re working tonight?”

Fuck.
