CHAPTER 20
Aelys
“Wait, you sucked his dick and let him touch you?” My cousin repeats, stunned.
I feel my cheeks burn as I nod. She squeaks in annoyance as Kiara smacks her head, a disapproving pout playing on her pink lips.
“For the Gods's sake, Nance, let her breathe. He's hot and she's going to marry him, so it had to happen at some point.”
“She’s not wrong,” Paula adds, “and don't forget that he apologized. I even thought he was adorable in the way he did it.”
I chuckle softly, the redness in my cheeks only increasing. My cousin glares at me before sitting up on the bed and crossing her arms over her chest, pouting.
“I still think you forgive him too easily. I just don't want you to get hurt, honey.” She finally sighed, resigned.
I walk over to her and hug her. Kiara and Paula join in, making us laugh softly. I assure them I won't get hurt, but I don't know if I believe that myself. Sure, he's been kind all day and assured me that I'm his and he's mine, but I can't help but worry that he’s lying.
Hello insecurities.
“All right, now, spill, is it big?” Kiara smirks and plays with her eyebrows suggestively.
I gasp in surprise and smack her arm teasingly as I feel my cheeks burn, my response sounding like an indignant squeak.
“I am not answering that!”
“Oh come on! Tell us!” My cousin insists, whining.
I shake my head, embarrassed, resigned pout tugging at my lips and they groan in disappointment.
“At least tell us if he's good,” Paula begs, giving me puppy dog eyes.
I blush even harder and avoid their gaze while nodding.
“Ah ah!” Nancy claps her hands, a victorious smile on her lips. “That means he's got a big one! Men with small dicks aren't good.”
“Nancy!” I gasp, my eyes wide as saucers.
“What? It's true!” She defends herself by pouting.
“I'm not confirming anything, so stop trying to make me say it,” I shake my head, laughing, embarrassed as ever.
They exchange knowing glances, smiling. I roll my eyes. They're incorrigible. We notice it's dinner time and decide to head to the main hall. I put on my Converse sneakers that Nancy gave me last Christmas. They're really comfortable and I love wearing them whenever I can.
When we arrive at our destination, the tables are full and the chatter between students fills the grant room as they devour their meals. The boys are already there, except for Tom.
I frown at that. Where is he? He's been nowhere to be seen all day. I sit between Enzo and Mattheo, earning a kiss on the cheek from Enzo, who grins broadly.
Mattheo glares at him before cupping my chin with his fingers and pressing his lips to mine, effectively capturing my full attention. I get a color like a Peony, and he smiles before turning his attention back to the others, not forgetting to place his hand on my thigh.
I notice how Arthur is looking at us and I raise an eyebrow, silently asking him what's wrong. He shakes his head and smiles softly before looking away, focusing on his plate.
“How are you girls? I heard you had a little secret meeting, how was it?” Cameron asks with a small, playful and curious smile.
“Oh, we learned some juicy gossip,” Nancy smirks and I look at her sideways.
She better not do what I think she has in mind…
The boys frown in confusion and exchange glances.
“Yeah, Aelys had some very interesting things to share, didn't she, girls?” Kiara adds and I give her a 'don't even think about it' look. The grip on my fork tightens to the point of whitening my knuckles.
All the boys look at me with curious eyes, waiting for me to tell them too, but I shake my head. There is no way I am going to reveal anything to them.
“I won't tell you anything, and you girls better keep quiet.” I point at them, giving them what I hope is a threatening look, and they raise their hands in mock innocence and laugh.
I glance over at Mattheo as he lightly squeezes my thigh to get my attention and he raises an eyebrow before leaning towards my ear.
“What did you tell them ?”
Before I can answer, Nancy calls his name, and he turns his attention back to our friends. I look at her sideways as she winks at me.
I'm going to kill her.
“Can I see your hands, Rigast?” She asks innocently, batting her eyelashes.
He frowns in confusion, glances at me before turning to the others, trying to see if they understand why she's asking such a thing.
“Nancy,” I growl in warning and she silences me with a wave of her hand.
She takes Mattheo's hand in hers, giving him no chance to react as she turns it both ways to inspect it. She grins from ear to ear.
“You really have big hands, Rigast.”
I put my hands over my face, groaning in embarrassment. She said it.
This bit-
“What the hell is this, Hewloc?” Mattheo grunts, completely confused, as he pulls his hand away from my cousin.
I hear Enzo burst out laughter next to me and I know he's getting it. I'm going to kill her. I keep my hands over my face, not wanting to see theirs once they all understand why she said that.
And of course, since no boy seems to understand the implication except for Enzo, he feels the need to explain it to them.
I'll kill him too.
“Big hands mean a big cock, Rigast.” He laughs louder, nudging my shoulder playfully.
I groan into my hands. This is really embarrassing. I feel Mattheo squeeze my thigh and I tense.
Oh shit.
He's going to kill me.
Fuck.
If I survive, I swear to the Gods that I will break Nancy and Enzo's necks.
“Did you tell them the size of my cock, my love?” He whispers in my ear.
I can sense the amusement in his voice and I groan again, shaking my head. I didn't say anything to them; they just jumped to conclusions once I admitted he is good.
Damn it.
“Oh, so I'm good, hm?” He chuckles softly, still whispering in my ear, and I lower my hands to glare at him.
“Get out of my head, Rigast.”
“You and I both know that will never happen, angel,” he smirks, and I roll my eyes.
I jump in my seat as the doors to the room burst open, slamming against the walls.
He is here.
Tom walks, or at least tries to walk, towards us. He stumbles and I frown in confusion.
Is he drunk on a Monday at 7pm? Really?
Fortunately, the teachers have already left for their building, and the students don't seem to mind. I turn to Mattheo, who is scowling at his brother.
“He's drunk, isn't he?” I ask even if I already know the answer. I want to make sure I'm not hallucinating.
He sighs heavily and nods. I turn my attention back to Tom to see he's reached us. He pushes past Enzo, who frowns but moves aside to let him sit next to me. Poor Enzo looks completely confused.
“Will you tell us why you're drunk, Tom?” I ask softly, my eyes roaming every inch of his face searching for answers.
He gives me a dark look and my lips part in shock.
What's wrong with him? I feel Mattheo slide his hand around my waist, to pull me closer, trying to create some distance between his brother and me.
Tom notices this and rolls his eyes before grabbing a glass.
His grip is so tight his knuckles are white, and the trembling in his limbs caused by his drunkenness lessens somewhat.
I look at my fiancé, confused, and see that he's as lost as I am.
“Looks like you partied without us, Rigast number two. Not cool,” Theo snickers, proud of the new nickname he came up with for Tom.
We all stare at him with wide eyes. Tom is drunk and in a bad mood, yet he's still teasing him.
This boy has a death wish.
I cry out in surprise as shards of glass fly towards me when Tom's glass shatters in his grip.
Immediately, Mattheo stands up, pulling me with him and positioning me behind his muscular body.
He glances at me quickly to make sure I'm not hurt before taking a threatening step towards his brother.
Gasps echo around us, and I stand there, speechless.
Oh fuck. They're not going to fight. Are they?
“What the fuck is going on, Tom?!” Mattheo snarls, his fists clenched at his sides as he takes a stance that is both offensive and defensive.
His brother stands up and approaches him. So close that their noses practically touch when he leans forward. He doesn't say anything, just looks at Mattheo. His eyes are no longer the beautiful blue I'm used to.
They are black.
“You could have hurt Aelys, you asshole!” Mattheo gets frustrated by his younger brother's silence, trembling with anger.
I see the others tense. We all know how this is going to end. They're going to fight and I can't let that happen. I look at Tom to see that he's already looking at me. I take a step back when I see how full of hatred his eyes are.
I haven't known him long, but he's never looked at me like that. He's not the kind Tom I met in the gardens of Leroi Manor.
He is the son of the Dark Mage and he no longer looks human.
His gaze returns to his brother and he laughs darkly. I shudder at the sound. It's terrifying. Everyone else is frozen in their seats, and I'm on my feet as I stand behind Mattheo.
“Are you afraid I'll hurt your precious whore, brother?” He spits, his voice full of venom.
My breath catches and my heart skips a beat. Mattheo doesn't hesitate to punch his brother in the nose, blinded by anger. Tom punches Mattheo in the jaw before taking a blow to the cheekbone.
There is the sound of flesh meeting flesh, of joints painfully cracking and cartilage breaking. Soon, they are both covered in blood.
Their blows are calculated and designed to cause as much damage as possible. They have been trained by their father all their lives and know each other's moves in advance. There is no way for either of them to win.
At least not without killing the other. They have to be separated. Unfortunately, the boys don't budge, too afraid to make them even angrier by intervening.
