Chapter 10 – INDIGO GETS KIDNAPPED
Chapter Ten
INDIGO GETS KIDNAPPED
Steel awoke with a start, his senses on high alert. Something was off. He glanced over at Indigo, her breathing was steady and slow. She was safe, but for how long? He’d thought they had the cartel on their heels, but they always seemed to be one step ahead.
As he pulled on his clothes and grabbed his weapons.
He couldn't shake the feeling that something was terribly wrong.
His gut churned with unease as he walked through the silent clubhouse, searching for any sign of danger.
The moment he stepped outside, his worst fears were confirmed.
Indigo's shop lay in ruins. There was smoke billowing from what used to be her safe haven.
He raced towards it, praying that she was okay.
A sense of helplessness washed over him as he realized she wasn't there, but the burning building told him she was in danger.
He swore under his breath, the anger within him boiling over. Indigo meant everything to him; she was his reason for living, his purpose. He wouldn’t rest until he found her and made whoever was responsible pay.
His motorcycle growled to life beneath him as he sped towards the rendezvous point, his mind racing. He remembered the fake text she had received; someone had tipped them off. He cursed himself for not realizing it sooner, for not being more vigilant.
When he found her, bruised and battered, he nearly lost control. She was his world, and the thought of losing her cut deep. He scooped her up in his arms, his heart pounding in his chest, and rode towards the clubhouse at breakneck speed.
They arrived at the clubhouse shattered and bloodied, but they were alive. He carried her inside, his relief palpable as he laid her on a cot in their makeshift medical bay. He knew they were far from out of danger, but at least she was safe for now.
Their marriage, forced at first, had turned into something more, something real.
She had become his everything, and he would burn the world for her if he had to.
He swore to restore Indigo’s shop, to make it better than before, so that the memory of this day would be erased.
From that moment on, nothing would stand in his way.
She was his. His to protect, his to love, and his to cherish.
He’d fight for her until the end of days, and if necessary, he'd burn the world to the ground to keep her safe. Because in a world where betrayal lurked around every corner and danger waited, he knew one thing for certain: he’d die before he let her go.
Indigo tried to ignore the pain in her shoulder as she looked up at Steel, tears streaming down her face.
He was staring at her intently, his jaw tight, and she could see the anger boiling beneath the surface.
She knew he would protect her, no matter the cost, but she couldn't help but feel like a burden.
“I’m sorry, baby. I tried to fight back, but there were too many of them.” Her voice was little more than a hoarse whisper, and she winced as she moved carefully to sit up straight on the cot.
Steel didn’t answer, instead, he pulled her closer, his strong arms encircling her in a bear hug. She leaned into him, breathing in the familiar scent of leather and smoke that surrounded him. It was comforting in a way she couldn't explain.
Together, they sat in silence, lost in their own thoughts as the clubhouse buzzed around them. Indigo watched as other members trickled in, their eyes filled with worry and anger. She felt the weight of their collective grief and rage, knowing that this was only the beginning.
As the adrenaline wore off and exhaustion set in, Indigo found herself dozing off against Steel’s chest. She knew they would have to rebuild, to find a new normal, but for now, she was glad to be in his arms, safe from harm.
She closed her eyes, hoping for a dreamless sleep where she could forget about the danger that lurked just outside their door.
Steel watched her, this tiny curvy girl who had stolen his heart, and knew that he would do anything to keep her safe.
Even if it meant burning the world to ashes.
Whatever it took to protect her, he’d do it.
She was worth it. Worth every battle, every skirmish, and every loss.
She was his. His to love, to protect, and to cherish.
The flames that once consumed him now flickered, replaced by something far more powerful - love.
He vowed to make her shop better than before, to stand guard against the cartel, and to fight for a future where they could be together without fear.
For now, he would hold onto her, his one true solace.
Then he heard it, footsteps, faint but unmistakable.
He knew he was too late. Indigo was gone.
He sprinted towards the sound, his heart hammering in his chest. He burst through the door just in time to see her being dragged away.
Her struggles were futile against her captors.
Rage blinded him as he launched himself at the men, taking them down one by one.
But it was too late to get Indigo, she was already gone.
He followed their trail of destruction. His mind reeling with fear and anger. The world around him seemed to slow down as he raced towards her, his heart pounding in his ears. Then he saw it, the hideout, the flames, and the sounds of gunfire.
The cartel had moved against them, and they would pay.
He walked through the chaos like a shadow, his eyes locked on Indigo as he fought his way to her.
Her eyes met his, full of fear and determination, and his heart nearly stopped.
He pulled her close, feeling her tremble in his arms. He swore that he would kill anyone who tried to hurt her, protecting her with every ounce of strength he possessed.
As they escaped the burning building, their hearts pounding wildly, he knew that everything had changed.
They were in a battle to the death now. There would be no going back.
He vowed to hunt down the cartel and bring them to justice, to make them pay for what they had done.
And when it was all over, he would find a way to make sure Indigo was safe, no matter the cost. Because without her, he was nothing.
