Chapter 5 Tombstone Clash
The area quieted. The show was over.
People scattered, chatting.
Wen Yu didn't cry or smile.
The vixen dragged the bastard over.
Her red skirt waved like a victory flag with each step.
She dabbed fake tears, glee in her voice.
"Wen Yu, don't be sad."
"Your sister was sickly. She couldn't take it and left. You still have to live."
"This is Wen Qi, your little brother. You two should get along."
"All that money's useless. New mom will keep it for you."
The bastard shoved Wen Yu from behind. I blocked it. Wen Yu's forehead hit my hand.
My hand slammed the tombstone.
"He's not my brother."
"A motherless mutt..."
The bastard's hair was soft, long enough.
I grabbed it easy and smashed his head on the tombstone.
I'd been eating well. My strength was back.
The bastard's wails echoed in the silent graveyard. Blood ran down the stone.
The vixen shrieked when I shoved her down and ripped her red skirt into strips.
They pulled us apart. We were all a mess.
Bastard had a gash on his forehead, blood gushing.
Vixen's qipao split to her thighs, flashing pale legs.
I had nail marks on my hand and neck.
The rainy ground was muddy. We looked like fighting beggars.
Wen Yu's dad yelled to send me to the cops. He even raised a hand to Wen Yu.
I had no strength left, but I'd take the hit for Wen Yu.
Wen Yu's Grandpa arrived and blocked the slap.
They argued. I didn't follow.
Wen Yu held my wrist. His hand was icier today.
I looked up through the fine rain and saw his lips curve slightly.
His hand rested on my head. His voice was soft praise.
"Good boy."
I'd made him a bit happier.
Perfect.
