Chapter 29 - Callum #2

She huffed a laugh, since we both understood I was kidding. Not like I’d keep pursuing her if she truly wasn’t feeling me.

Kind of kidding. But… also serious.

Because no one had ever felt as right in my arms as this woman did. No one had ever made me laugh so much. Made me want to be a better man to deserve her. There was no way in hell I was going to let her go.

My thumb traced her plump lower lip, and the shadows from the fire played across her skin. The wood-smoke scent of the campfire mingled with her flowery one.

“Zandra, if I’m not being clear enough, then let me leave no doubt.

I want to be your man. I want your heart.

Your snarky attitude. I want this gorgeous body only for me.

Only for me,” I repeated, as a bolt of possessiveness shot through me at the thought of anyone else touching her.

The only woman I’d ever gotten jealous over.

My hand trailed down to squeeze her waist. “And I plan to keep you.”

“Those are big plans.” Her voice still sounded hoarser than usual, her shocked expression taking the bite out of her words.

“You could make it much easier for me by saying yes.”

Suddenly her arms circled my neck and her mouth pressed into mine. My hands went to grip her sides, my tongue answering hers. I loved the way Zandra kissed me like she couldn’t bear not to.

The first time we’d kissed, I’d let Z make the move. Just to know she was sure. I’d let her come to me.

But now, it was time for me to take over. Tonight was my show.

I slowed the kiss, turning it more tender. Then I pulled her into my lap and stood all the way up, lifting her in my arms. “I’ve got a much more comfortable spot for this.”

Carrying her over to the truck, I set her on the tailgate and went to grab the stack of blankets I’d stowed in the backseat. I made quick work of spreading them out over the truck bed.

Then I kicked off my boots. Unlaced and took off Zandra’s shoes for her too.

I kissed her slowly again, but Z was not having that.

My girl needed me too much. She popped the button on my jeans, so I went ahead and kicked them off and shucked off my tee.

My hat got tossed to the side, and I went to undress her next.

“Cold,” she whispered.

“You’ll be nice and warm soon.”

My fingers moved over her skin. Pushing down her shorts and sliding her top over her head. Once we were both bare, I arranged her long, dark locks so they’d be out of the way. “I’m crazy about your hair. Have I mentioned that? Just want to bury my face in it.”

She laughed as I did just that, rubbing my cheek against that silky soft texture, growling like an animal.

Then I sat back to look at her. Despite it being the peak of summer, the temperatures still dipped at night, and we weren’t quite close enough to the fire to catch much warmth against our naked skin. But the way that flickering light hit her—damn. She had never looked more stunning.

Or looked more like mine.

I’d come to know Zandra’s body in intricate ways. How she loved it when I fluttered my tongue over her nipples, then sucked harder when she really got going. How much attention to pay her less obvious erogenous zones. Like the soft skin of her belly or the delicate inner hinge of her arms.

I could almost sound poetic when it came to her. No woman but Zandra had ever inspired such thoughts in my head.

My lips kissed down along her body while my hands teased and explored. Warming her up. Getting her to relax so those feel-good chemicals would spread.

As for me, heat was scorching my veins from the inside out from how much I craved her. My cock stood up ready for duty. But he wasn’t getting any satisfaction just yet.

Well, not directly.

After I’d kissed almost every inch of her, I stretched out and rolled us so she was above me. Her hair flowed over us, tickling my skin, and her breasts pushed into my chest. I reached down to squeeze her soft, ample booty.

“Come up here and straddle me, Sunflower. Sit on my face. I want to eat you and drink you and breathe you in.”

See, what did I tell you? Poetic.

Her eyelids went half-mast with arousal, her breaths heavy. “Can’t believe how much you turn me on.”

“It’s a natural gift of mine. But now it’s only for you, baby. Get up here.”

Within seconds, she was hovering over me, positioning herself. My nostrils flared. Her scent, mingled with the smokiness of the campfire, was becoming an intoxicating mix.

“Hold on to that ledge below the rear window,” I said.

My tongue dragged right over her center.

I had no idea how long I lay there, licking and kissing and savoring. Zandra’s cries of pleasure echoed against the foothills. Something howled back in the distance, and that just made me more feral for her.

I held onto the backs of her thighs, urging her to rock against me. My tongue found her opening. Slid easily inside as I fucked her with my mouth. It was like everything began and ended with her, like she was everything I wanted and needed. Giving me life with the sweet intoxication of her body.

Then she shouted so loudly it was almost a scream. Her thighs clamped down on me. Her taste covered my tongue, turning me on so damn much a few strokes would’ve sent me over the edge.

But I waited until she stopped moaning and thrashing before I nudged her onto her back. Grabbed protection. And then my cock was thrusting deep inside her.

“Say you’re mine, Sunflower.”

“I’m yours,” she panted, fingers digging into my hair. “Only yours.”

Zandra’s hips lifted to meet me. Pleasure lit up my veins, building each time my cock pushed in and her body gripped me so good.

The orgasm slammed into me. Better than any words could describe. More intense than anything I’d ever felt.

Yet that wasn’t really true. The way I cared for Zandra was even bigger and bolder. As if we were linked all the way to our souls. Like all these years, even when she’d hated me, we were always supposed to find our way to each other.
