31. Sunshine
Chapter 31
Sunshine
T ime passed in moments marked by being touched, by touching. By lips and hands and hips and fingers and cocks and the shattering crash of orgasm after orgasm. Our bodies entwined together over and over, doing the ancient dance of lovemaking. Moments punched by Luca or Logan coaxing us into eating protein bars and drinking sports drinks until we fell back into loving each other.
We tried each lock I’d brought, but Julian agreed with me on the one I liked the best. He also took me without the lock, from behind, in every position we could come up with. Luca pinned him down and fucked him hard and fast while he swallowed Logan’s cock and then I rode him. Luca and Logan fucked me at the same time, dragging it out until I was a helpless mess, and then making me come three times in succession.
I woke up more coherent than I had in a while and felt…sore. Ecstatic, but so very sore. I tried to move my arms and legs, but my body was no longer taking orders from me.
My lips were cracked and my throat raw from screaming in pleasure. I tried to move but couldn’t do more than wiggle.
I lay against Julian’s chest. He was flat on his back, sleeping deeply with Logan curled up on his other side. Luca curled against me and shifted when I twitched.
“’s’okay?” Luca’s voice was deep and husky, and a trickle of desire worked its way through me.
“Can’t move.” My mouth was thick and dry.
Luca sat up quickly, moving from sleeping to awake.
“I’m okay.” I said quickly, keeping my voice low. If Julian was sleeping, he needed it. “Let’s go back to sleep.”
Luca rolled me over, so I faced him. It was slow going because my muscles didn’t want to move at all, and I couldn’t hide my winces.
“We haven’t been doing a good job of pacing you.” Luca wrinkled his nose.
“I’m fine.” I breathed in his cinnamon vanilla scent and suddenly wanted Snickerdoodles.
“You’re going to rest.” Luca slid away from me, replacing his weight with a pillow. “I’m getting you food and water.”
I didn’t have the energy to argue. I cuddled the pillow, huffing in Julian’s scent and drifted back to sleep until Luca returned with a sports drink and plate of bite sized food.
He looked tired himself, his black hair disheveled beyond repair. He had bags under his eyes, and there were bite marks all over his neck and shoulders from where the three of us had bitten him.
He fed me bites of broccoli, eggs, and cheese, quiche and mini fruit tarts in between helping me drink from the bottle. My arms and hands still didn’t want to move or grasp anything.
“Sorry,” I said after the second time I failed to grab the bottle.
“No sorry.” He kissed my forehead. “I should have made you eat more and take more breaks.”
“Pretty sure that was my fault.” I grinned. They had tried to let me rest by tag teaming Julian. It didn’t go so well and soon I’d joined in. “The sight of the two of you tag teaming Julian is too much for me to bear.”
Luca purred, eating some food for himself.
Logan stirred, lifting his head up to survey the nest. He didn’t seem awake at all, but in the primal instincts of scanning for threats.
Logan ate, and we managed to rouse Julian enough to get him to eat and drink again.
Luca gave me some painkillers and rubbed my shoulders gently. I felt straight back to sleep at the pure relaxation of Luca working out the stiffness of my limbs.
I woke again, snuggled by Julian’s side. He was still baking hot, but the intensity of his scent had calmed down. Luca was breathing heavily on shoulder and Logan’s arm was thrown over Julian’s chest, breathing with his mouth open.
It was adorable.
Julian said he loved me. Warmth curled through me at the idea, the precious gift of his love. Of Luca’s love. I looked at Logan, knowing he loved me too.
I loved them so much it hurt. It sat behind my breastbone, a soft weight of pressure and understanding.
And they loved me back. My mind immediately tried to shut it down, to minimize it. But the look of pure love and devotion on Julian’s face as he thrust inside me over and over, gasping he loved me was irrefutable. He was too raw, too open. Like I was seeing straight into his soul.
Julian yawned and opened his eyes. He gave me a smile that was equal parts sleepy and sexy. “How you doing, babe?”
I smiled. I was still sore and stiff, but I could move my arms. “Wonderful. Do you want some water or—" I started to move, but he hooked his arm around my waist.
“Stay.”
“We need food.”
“In a bit.” Julian pulled me against him. “I’m more lucid and I promise we’ll eat before I ravish you again.”
I giggled, rubbing my cheek against his chest. I used my pointer finger to trace his dragon tattoo, loving the soft bump of his skin where the ink was laid.
He stroked his hands down my shoulders, and for a long time we cuddled.
“Did I freak you out?”
I glanced up at him, and he was frowning.
“I know I’m intense during my heat…” He bit his lip. “I know you need time and space, and I told you I loved you.”
I frowned.
“I do love you,” he said quickly. “I couldn’t lie about that even if I wanted but all the thoughts about letting you slowly get comfortable were far, far away.”
“I know.” I caressed his cheek. “It’s okay. I love you too.”
His face lit up and he grinned. “I am lovable.”
I shifted up and stole a kiss. “You are. So lovable.”
“And the new breeding kink?” He gave me an innocent look. “I mean, I do want kids at some point but not right now.”
“That was really hot.” My face flushed. “But uhh, let’s take the kids thing slow?”
“Agreed.” Julian kissed my forehead. “I haven’t even convinced you to move in with us.”
A shiver of ice ran down my spine. That was more relevant and, somehow, more scary.
“Hey.” He patted my shoulder. “If you’re not ready it’s okay. But you basically sleep over every night anyway.”
“I know.” I licked my lips, my mouth suddenly dry. “It’s stupid after you saying you love me, but it feels really sudden.”
I pictured moving in and falling even deeper for this pack. At least when Rob and Isaac dumped me, I still had my own place. I didn’t have to worry about packing my stuff and leaving.
“Just think about.” Julian ran his hands through my hair, the blond strands hopelessly messed up. “I’m patient. Mostly.”
I laughed and forced myself to relax.
The nasty part of my mind wanted to think Julian didn’t mean any of this. He would regret me moving in after the heat haze wore off, would regret saying “I love you” so soon.
But the memory of how open and raw he was, panting that he loved me, like he would die without me, refused to be ignored. I’d never seen anyone but my family so vulnerable. Luca and Logan too, like they were completely undone.
A memory popped into my head. Rob and I, making out in the couch at their house, Mason coming in from his art class. Rob dropped nibbles down my neck, as Mason made a beeline for their bedroom.
“Hey Mason, what you do think? Sunshine at your next heat?”
Mason actually wrinkled his nose. It cut me deep. I didn’t want to care so much, I wouldn’t push if Mason wasn’t interested. But for him to actively wrinkle his nose? Like it was disgusting to him?
It hurt. Rob had laughed it off, but things were never the same.
Now I knew why.
“What’s wrong?” Julian tapped my shoulder. “Your forehead is doing the wrinkle thing. It’s seriously okay to wait for you to move in if you want more time.”
“It’s not that.” I kissed the scale on the dragon tattoo.
“Tell me.” He asked sweetly, giving me puppy eyes.
“Not during your heat.” I kissed his mouth. “Later.”
He pouted. “Tell me now.”
“It was about Mason.” I watched his face for any signs of distress. He looked concerned, but not mad.
“He didn’t want me at his heat. I thought it was because I was just a beta.”
“Aww honey.” He pressed his forehead against mine. “He was an idiot.”
“It wasn’t that.” I laid my arms on his chest. “I saw you completely undone. You couldn’t be in heat around just anybody.”
“Ewww no.” He made such a cute face. I touched his nose.
“Exactly. It wasn’t me, a useless beta. He wasn’t comfortable with me during his heat, his most vulnerable moment.”
Julian hugged me against him. “That’s true. He was an idiot for not wanting you, but no. You are plenty useful during a heat.”
He angled his mouth over mine, taking a slow drowsy kiss. “You locked me.” His voice got husky. “Made me scream your name, over and over. Made me eat food.” He looked between us, at our sleeping alphas. “Wore out the alphas.”
I sighed, pleasure curling through me. Something that was broken inside me felt…better. I wasn’t a useless beta.
Maybe it wouldn’t be so bad if I moved in. I thought about it, turning the thought over. But exhaustion made it hard to think so I pushed it aside as a problem for the future.
Luca and Logan woke up, and insisted we eat again. I was ravenous but wanted a bath more than food. Julian whined about the scent getting washed off, so I made him soak with me. Logan washed off and then hurried away to cook with a manic gleam in his eye.
I took my time, soaking and leisurely washing Julian’s hair. He was still running hot, which meant the heat might not be over.
We climbed out, wrapped in fluffy towels while Luca insisted he dry us off. The drying turned into touching until Logan hollered for us to come and get food.
We padded back into the mini kitchen, the scent of cheeseburgers, homemade French fries, and a fruit salad filling the air. There was a small breakfast nook next to the kitchen with a round, booth style table. We packed into the booth, cuddling while eating.
We fell on the food like a pack of ravenous wolves. The cheeseburger was juicy and rich, and I had mine with lettuce, tomato, and pickles. I ate three burgers, a whole plate of fries, and fruit.
“And for dessert.” Logan kissed my cheek before sliding out of the booth. He went into the fridge and pulled out a key lime pie with a flourish.
He plated up four big slices and handed me the first one. “For our beta. We couldn’t have gotten through that without you.”
Joy rose up inside me, sharp and fierce. I looked up at Logan with tears in my eyes and smiled. “Thank you.”
I looked at the meal, remembering vaguely about asking for cheeseburgers during one of our marathon sex sessions. Logan had to have planned ahead enough to get key limes and put it in the nest kitchen.
Warmth bubbled up inside me, light and airy as sunlight. “I love you too.”
Logan slid into the booth next to me. “I love you. I don’t say it as much as I should.”
“You don’t have to.” I hugged him, his herbal scent comforting.
I hadn’t expected to be so pampered during Julian’s heat. They were treating me…like I was another omega. Like I was precious and valued.
“I should more often.” Logan kissed my temple. “But I love you.”
“I asked her to move in with us,” Julian said like he was sharing a secret. “It freaked her out, so I told her it was an open invitation.”
Luca rolled his eyes. “Way to give her space.”
Julian grinned, not looking sorry at all. “I also made sure I didn’t flip her out with my new breeding kink.”
Logan gave a rough purr that sent shiver racing down my spine. “Yeah?”
“Breeding kink is a yes, babies in the someday far future.”
I nodded. “Far future.”
The carbs and protein hit me like a ton of bricks, and I didn’t resist when Julian pulled me back into the nest. He arranged the blankets around us again, fluffing the pillows just so.
I laughed. “Still in heat?”
He gave me an innocent look. “You think so?”
“Nah.” Luca smirked. “He’s all good.”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Julian settled in between me and Logan. “But we’re gonna have a nap and then I need new scent marks.”
I curled against him and sighed. “Sounds good.” I was still so sore, but the food and rest helped revive me.
I dropped off to sleep, waking up when Luca purred in my ear, his body hot and hard behind me.
The scent of cinnamon and vanilla mingled with Julian and Logan. Desire poured through me, and I rocked my hips against Julian.
We devoured each other again and spent the rest of the day tangled in each other’s bodies. But I could see a difference, and we dropped off to sleep almost at a normal hour.
When I woke up the next morning, I crawled out of the nest myself for coffee. Despite the meal yesterday, I was famished. Julian wandered out and we cuddled on the breakfast nook until Logan woke up and made us food while Luca cleaned up. Julian’s body temperature seemed normal, and his scent was strong, but not the alluring siren’s call it had been.
We spent the day lounging around, eating and watching movies on the laptop Luca had produced. We stayed in the nest, and it was nice to cuddle. Each of my guys, even Julian, took turns forcing me to eat and drink. Julian was outpacing me in the food department, joking about getting back up to fighting weight.
The heat was over, but we stayed in the nest for another day or so, enjoying each other’s scents and pretending the rest of the world didn’t exist. I held out as long as I could, but I finally checked my phone to let my family know I was okay.
I had many messages from Talia, and a few from my family. We’d been secluded for a week and a half.
I snuggled against Julian’s side, pulling up the soft comfy blanket. “Was that a long heat?”
“Yes.” He squeezed me against him. “You made me extra horny and breedable.”
“I’ll say.” Luca stole a kiss from Julian. “You were a very good omega.”
Luca’s purr sent shivers through me and Julian. I didn’t think I had the energy for sex again, but they proved me wrong. Post heat sex turned out to be just as good as heat sex.
