Chapter 10 Aftermath

The next morning, every trip to the bathroom hurt.

At work, I was completely distracted.

I counted the leaves on my desk plant. “Normal… not normal… normal…”

Assistant Wang walked in with files. “Young Master, the Huazhang project contract has been revised according to your points. If it looks good, we can move forward internally.”

I flipped through it like I knew what I was doing. Ji Chengzhou had handled everything. I didn’t even know what Huazhang did.

“Looks fine. Go ahead.”

As he turned to leave, I stopped him. “Assistant Wang… do guys ever… help each other out? You know, with hands?”

It should be normal.

He paused. “Well… yeah, I think most do. Back in school dorms, it was common. We even watched… foreign films together.”

Right. Just guys being guys. No big deal. Like comparing who could pee farther as kids.

Just male pride.

I felt relieved.

After work, Ji Chengzhou video-called me.

Thinking about last night, I ignored it.

He texted: “When are you coming back?”

I never said I was going to his place tonight.

Then he sent two photos.

One: him cooking. “Learned your favorite chestnut chicken.”

My mouth watered. It looked incredible.

Two: a computer screen. “Installed the newest game for you.”

The action game I’d been dying to play—still in closed beta, nearly impossible to get.

How did he get a key?

Then I remembered—his tech company did core development. Connections with every major gaming studio. Easy.

I caved. Again.

After work, I grabbed my unfinished files and headed straight to his place.
