Chapter 11 Easy Living
Life at Ji Chengzhou’s was better than home.
Someone else did my work. I ate gourmet meals every day.
Smart people really do learn fast—he’d only been cooking a few days, and his food was already better than our housekeeper’s.
Best part: constant new games.
If I missed dinner playing on weekends, he never complained. He’d even feed me while I played.
What was this if not paradise?
I completely forgot how strictly he used to control me. I was lost in this effortless, pampered life.
In one month, I only went home twice. The rest of the time, I stayed with him.
Except for one thing—he constantly wanted to “compare.”
Why was his competitive streak so intense?
That day, he pulled me into it again.
“Still not admitting defeat?” His hot breath hit my ear.
I bit my lip hard.
A man’s pride was on the line. I couldn’t say no.
Ji Chengzhou’s movements intensified. Veins stood out on his neck and shoulders.
I couldn’t hold back and bit down.
A low groan escaped him. The room filled with nothing but our ragged breathing and the damp scent under the covers.
Exhausted, I rolled away.
Ji Chengzhou immediately pressed his warm body against mine.
I kicked his calf. “Didn’t you say you were hot? Stop clinging.”
“It’s October. It got colder. I’m chilly.”
“Colder? Put on pajamas. Why rub against me?”
“Friction makes fire.”
I cursed him out loud and kicked him clean off the bed.
