Liv's POV

It was finally time for the party and I felt nervousness creep inside of my body. I inwardly wished time wouldn't go fast but it kept on ticking as though it was being chased, ticking the countdown to face my fears.

I stared right through the mirror as the reminiscance of mum's words surged through my head and it took a massive toll on me.

I sighed in defeat. I was too scared of what was going to happen and I tried to convince myself to lock my room door and stay in there untill the party is over. I was too scared and besides I wasn't that important to the packhouse so my presence of abscence wouldn't make a difference to anyone.

But I had forgotten that even if no one cared about me the triplets would surely care and they were now a huge part of my life. I knew they would never give permission for me to stay in the room for a celebration like that.

After much hesistation, I finally came to a conclusion that I was going to the alliance party and what was I so scared about? I had bodyguards whom I didn't have to pay to protect me.

The thought of Frank and the triplets as my bodyguards litted a smile on the corner of my lips. I grabbed a lip gloss and smeared it on my lips, to brighten up my look as I smacked my lips together.

I spun my body around and accessed my dress carefully. I didn't know I could ever admire my beauty so much and with that I left for the party all alone.

I got to the hall and my eyes searched for my mates but I couldn't see either of them. Where could they be? I was expecting I would see them in the hall and they would get to admire me in the dress which was drapped on my body.

I guess I just wasted my time getting decked up. I smacked my forehead and squeezed my mouth to the side when I realised the thoughts that imploded my head.

"My lady please allow me to take you to your seat" I heared a voice beside me and I turned to see the guard as he bowed his head in respect towards me. I turned my gaze away from him and I began to fidget with my fingers. I was a bit hesistant but I couldn't keep standing in that corner for long.

My legs were already hurting due to the heels I was putting on and I was definitely sure my mates would come in sooner or later because the alliance party was all about them and they won't be a party without their presence gracing the hall.

I looked at the guard and moved in front as he followed me, pointing towards the chair I was supposed to sit on. I noticed some people were staring at me, they all had their eyes on me and they all made it very noticeable as some couldn't hide the disgust they felt.

It all showed on their faces and I couldn't care less about what they said or thought about me. I had made up my mind to enjoy whatever I had so I chose not to pay attention to their awful stares. The whole hall was filled with people and everyone was present including faces I had never seen before.

I began to closely look at every person seated in the hall, trying to search for the Alphas but it was useless because even if my father stood right in front of me and exchanged pleasantries I would never know him and it also applied in the same way for him.

My eyes instantly got locked with Frank and excitement surged inside of me. I smiled at him and waved but he just kept staring at me without uttering a word as he turned his head sideways.

I couldn't deny I felt hurt at Frank's attitude towards me and I had no idea on what I needed to do in order to convince him. While I was seated, I sighted the triplets from afar as they walked towards where I was seated and then they came close to me.

"I've been waiting for you all" I said as Ryder smiled at me.

"That's why I rushed to you as soon as I got the opportunity" Ryder teased and I let out a light laugh. I didn't know how he did it but really knew how to lighten my mood.

"I'm guessing I gave you a chance to act all flirty with me" I voiced out, biting back my smile. He placed his finger on my lip, trailing on it and I remained speechless. Did he forget we were in public?

"Don't do that Liv".

"What shouldn't I do?" I asked him in a low voice.

"I guess I haven't told you how beautiful you look" he let out , ignoring my question.

I had expected Callum and Max to say something but they didn't even pay attention to me. At least I wouldn't expect much from Max because we weren't on good terms, but I wondered what was wrong with Callum.

He looked tensed and at the same time angry. He didn't spare me a glance at all. I knew one thing was certain, he wanted to get away from here.

"Ryder the party has begun but how long would it take?" I questioned.

"It won't take long. We just need to sign the certificate by blood and the rest would be a celebration" .

"I was just asking because my legs are aching. I was standing for long before I finally got a seat for myself" I aired out as his demeanour changed into a cold one.

"What do you mean by that? Didn't the guards attend to your every need?" he queried.

"It's not what you think. They surely did but before that I was waiting for you all" I said but before Ryder could give me a response, Luna Rebecca made her way up the stage.

"I specifically told Richard not to let her do anything at all" Callum gritted and Ryder sighed.

"She always has to have her way"

"I'm so glad all of you showed up to respect the supreme bodies. I've wanted this alliance for so long. The union would make the pack stronger. I wish for nothing but the betterment of the pack and I also wish my sons will do well, so they would be able to lead the pack forward" Luna Rebecca announced with a complacent smile on her face and I huffed at her words.

Everything was all a lie and I wondered how much more she would keep doing that. She was a heartless person who didn't have a heart. I mean how could she stand on stage and blurt out so much lies? I admit she really did have a lot of guts.

After her speech, she was rewarded with loud claps as Ryder and Max stood up, walking towards the stage but Callum remained seated, It was obvious he was reluctant but what was the reason for it?

On getting to the stage, an elder replaced the Luna and the alpha of the dark sky pack stepped forward.

"May this alliance bring nothing but peace and prosperity to both packs" Alpha Lucas said and grabbed a knife as he cut himself and placed it as a seal.

After Alpha Lucas left the stage, amongst the triplets, Max was the first to step forward and he did the same thing just as Alpha Lucas then Ryder followed as well.

Everything seemed to be going alright until a loud piercing scream was heard and I swallowed hard.

The whole chaos disrupted the process and then a bullet was fired. I gasped in fear and shock as I covered my ears.

Everyone began to scream loudly as they all ran out and that was when I saw Ryder slipping down to the floor whilst clutching his chest. I saw blood dripping down and that was when I realised he had been shot.
