Liv's POV
The whole place was in disruptive chaos the moment Ryder went down. Bullets kept flying in the air. The smell of blood filled the air as I watched people slip to the floor with blood spilled everywhere.
I still couldn't understand anything that was going on. I was in utmost shock as I stood frozen on the floor, my heart pounding in my chest. It kept beating so fast that my body began to shake vigorously.
I was extremely petrified about the whole ruckus. I knew I had to run to save myself but my legs weren't willing to comply with the whole situation.
People running out began to push me and I kept swinging left and right. I began to feel dizzy and pressured. Everything kept spinning around. I placed my hands on the side of my head, gritting my teeth in pain.
One of the intruders spotted me and pointed a gun directly at me in the midst of the commotion. I was tamed to a spot by fear. I wasn't moving, neither was I breathing
Suddenly, I felt someone push me aside. Once again, it was one of the people trying to get away. I crawled away from that spot to hide.
I was overwhelmed by the whole situation and I began to sob in pain. I noticed some faces I knew lay lifelessly on the floor. They were dead with blood sipping from their body. Was I going to survive this? That question dropped in my mind as fear gripped me. I didn't think I was.
"Liv!" I heard a familiar voice call out my name and I turned around, my eyes searching for my escape route.
"I'm over here, where are you!" I screamed in a shaky voice. I tried to peer my eyes to see but everywhere was so misty and I couldn't see anything.
I knew the familiar voice that called out to me had to be one of the triplets but I couldn't see anything as the whole place was in chaos. I didn't want to die yet but if I proceeded to run out of the hall without seeing and understanding things clearly then I was likely to get shot.
Still hiding under a table, it was flipped over by a woman who fell on it trying to get away. She stood up immediately, pressing her heel on my hand as she ran off. The pain shot through me as I trembled, but that wasn't the worst thing. I was out in the open now. With nowhere to hide.
I was about to run off when I felt a light tap on my back and I jerked with fear. Did the attackers finally get to me? I gulped hard in fear as my eyes expressed uneasiness. I remained stiff, not able to move
"Liv, You have to come with me!"
That voice belonged to Frank!
A surging feeling of relief coursed through me and I stood up hastily, turning to look at him. His face was bloodied and part of his clothing had been ripped. His hands were drenched with blood with a gun which he held visibly.
"We don't have time Liv. I need to get you out of here" he voiced out and without giving me an opportunity to respond to him, he grabbed my wrist as we proceeded to run out of the hall.
While we were running, Frank kept shooting. He knew if he stopped, we were going to get shot. He had to make sure the intruders didn't think we were unarmed.
My throat felt dried and my legs began to feel weak. The more I tried to run faster it felt as though I was being dragged behind. I was slowly losing my breath as sweat trickled down my forehead.
We ran outside and Frank still kept pulling me to run faster even when I was clearly tired.
On getting outside the whole place was still packed with the intruders but that didn't stop either of us as we kept running. That was the only way to save ourselves while Frank kept firing the bullets in his gun at them.
He fired some more shots but there wasn't any sound coming from his gun and I knew the bullets filled inside had finished.
"Damn it!" Frank cursed out, flinging the gun aside as anger rippled through him.
"We can't give up yet Liv, we need to run!" he added as he dragged me along with him. He immediately stopped in track and turned back to look at me as I shook my head at him.
"I'm tired Frank, I can't continue!" I aired out, breathing deeply. He came closer and cupped my face in his hands, leaning his forehead on mine.
"Bear in mind Liv, if you don't run, we are going to get killed" he held me up. "We need to get the fuck out of here" I used the back of my palm to wipe my tears as we began to run again but this time around, I had the willpower to survive and I was going to accomplish it with Frank by my side.
"Run in front of me Liv" he called out breathlessly. I turned to look at him in confusion. "Keep running!" Frank yelled and without any arguments because that wasn't the time for it, I stepped in front of him and I began to run with Frank trailing behind me. I was tired but I didn't have an option to quit as I gathered enough strength.
We ran for so long and I turned to speak to Frank but instead, I heard a loud groan as I stopped right on track.
The loud groan came from Frank and my heart started beating faster than ever. I watched him drop to the floor with his knees on it as he spewed out blood. His breathing became harder. That was when the realization dawned on me that he had been shot.
"Frank!" I screamed loudly as tears stung my eyes. I crawled towards him, not giving a fuck about the stones that filled the floor or whether I got injured.
"We found the girl!" I heard someone shout.
"Run" Frank struggled to call out
I still kept coming close to him. "Run! Fucking run now!" He roared at me with his last strength
I looked behind me and in front of me and for some reason, I couldn't. I couldn't leave him there after all he did to get us this far. "No Frank we are in this together, I can't leave you here all alone" I cried out, holding onto his hand tightly.
"For once be selfish and don't think about me. It's a must for you to survive Liv. I promise I will be right behind you" he let out as his breathing got even lighter. I knew for a fact he had been hit by a silver bullet.
Frank continued "Even if death comes to take me, I'll fight it and I'll make a promise to you that we will surely meet again so run Liv," Frank said in a low voice, as though he read my mind and he knew I didn't want to leave him. My hands voluntarily slipped out of his as I stood up.
"We've found the girl. She's over there!" I heard the same voice break through and I took off with hastened steps, bearing in mind that I left Frank all alone.
My leg collided with a stone and I tripped, falling hard into the floor as I banged my forehead on the stone and I winced in immense pain.
I was in pain as I gritted my teeth. I wanted to accept defeat instantly but I reminisced Frank's promise to me. I would want to see him again and for that, I needed to survive.
I stood up from the floor with so much difficulty and I turned to see some men chasing after me. I ran for some moments despite the throbbing pain I felt in my head but just when I was about to enter the woods, I felt a bullet plunged inside of my leg and I fell flat on the floor.
I purposely didn't wait to feel the pain because there wasn't any time on my side. I didn't stop. I kept crawling with the support of my other leg, deep inside the woods until my strength began to fail me and slowly, slowly, I lost my balance
On the floor I crawled, crying and remembering Frank and when my body couldn't take it anymore, I slipped to the floor, passing out.
