Chapter 55
Pleasure riddled my heavy limbs, weighing them into the cloud-like bed.
My heat was over, my body sated, and they’d washed me.
It was nice being cared for. I had zero energy to even lift my head.
“You have to eat, baby,” Kyan murmured, holding the strawberry to me. The tip of the cold fruit forced my lips open, and I bit down. Juice exploded on my tongue. I slurped to catch it, but some escaped from the corner of my mouth. Kyan leaned forward and swept his tongue across my chin.
I snorted and shook my head at him.
“What I have to do is stretch,” I griped. My limbs ached. Sinclair grabbed my leg and rubbed his fingers into it.
Elias was still sleeping, sprawled face-down. Sinclair kept massaging my legs, and I sank into it like gelatin. Kyan scooted behind me, bracing my head on his lap, and his long fingers rubbed into my shoulders.
I dozed, enjoying their ministrations. Kyan said it was the biggest room.
The empress bed flush against the wall took up most of this side of the space.
I scooted over to the edge and pressed my toes into the soft rug.
Our clothes were littered all over the place.
A lamp completed the rustic look, illuminating everything with an amber glow.
How fucking crazy to end up surrounded by Greymont Pack . . . My Pack at their cabin?
Sinclair and Kyan chatted about random things, a football game, and then about the incoming storm. Their deep voices lulled me further. I never knew I’d have a thing for an accent, but Sinclair’s voice was oddly magnetic, especially when it became husky.
Elias groaned, flopping onto his back, the blanket sprawled over his waist, allowing a hint of his hip bones and the line of hair leading toward his hidden cock.
I pushed up and tossed my leg over his waist, pinning him down. He grunted, reaching up to cup my cheek. He stared up at me sleepily. A smile I couldn’t help but match.
A loud knocking sounded on the door, and Elias tensed under me.
“Are you guys expecting someone?” I asked.
“No.” Sinclair was already on his feet. He pulled the closet door open revealing shelves with towels and a metal safe on the top. Sinclair reached up and grabbed a gun.
“Can’t be too careful,” he said, eyeing my expression. He grabbed one of the folded robes on one of the shelves, pulled it on, and slid the gun into the oversized robe pocket. “Stay with them.” He left with a wide stride.
I yanked myself out of my stupor and rushed after him.
“Briar,” Elias hissed. I stopped at the top of the banister, gripping the wood in a white-knuckled grip as I stared down into the foyer. Elias pounded across the wood floors to my side, grabbing my waist.
Sinclair whipped the door open.
Demi stood on the step, shivering and tucking a big coat around herself.
“Nope.” Sinclair slammed the door in her face, leaving me blindsided.
The knocking continued and a muffled ‘help’ came through the barrier.
“Before you ask: no, we never brought her here, I don’t know why the fuck she’s here,” Kyan explained from my other side.
That made me feel tons better, actually.
“There’s going to be a storm . . .” I trailed off.
“She shouldn’t have followed us.” Elias shrugged, hand clasping my waist.
I felt a little bad. Just a smidgen. The wind rattled the window frame over the door, as if making a point.
I groaned, pinching the top of my nose. “Just let her in.”
Sinclair scowled at me from downstairs. “No.”
I shook my head and padded down the steps to the door and whipped it open. Ice gathered on her eyelashes, and she was bundled in a fur coat.
She tried to move past me, and I held a hand up. She flinched and stopped in place.
“How did you get here?”
“Can I answer inside?”
“No.”
She shivered. “I put a tag on their car.”
I scoffed. This crazy bitch.
“You stay until morning, and then you get the hell out, understood?”
She nodded frantically, shivering.
I moved, and she rushed inside, almost falling apart, shaking.
“Thanks,” she muttered. “I would have died in my car.”
“Good riddance,” Sinclair muttered. His hands settled on me, rubbing down my bare arms. His warmth made me realize what little I wore, and the silk tank top and matching shorts would do nothing to protect me.
I didn’t know the lay of the house other than the living room, so I slid away from Sinclair and shuffled to the space warmed by the fireplace.
“You can sleep on the couch.”
“The floor,” Sinclair added unhelpfully.
Demi pursed her lips. “Got it.”
Hard steps approached.
“Why are you here?”
“When the fuck did you put that tag on our car?” Elias’ voice boomed through the cabin. The robe, similar to Sin’s, rippled around his legs with his approach.
Demi shrunk back, her brunette ringlets fluttering. “It w-was a while ago. When we first started fuc—”
A pillow flew across the living room and smacked her on the face. She staggered from the force it hit her with. I followed her shocked gaze to Sinclair.
He was too ‘busy’ looking at his cuticles.
“Where did you put it?”
“Under the bumper on the passenger side,” she mumbled.
Sinclair and Elias looked to each other.
“Sweets, get back to bed with Kyan. You don’t need to be around the filth.” Sinclair strode away and the front door creaked as he opened it, allowing a draft so cold that the seconds the door was opened, it caused the chill to reach me.
He was crazy to go out there without proper clothing.
“I’m a bit parched, may I have some water?” She fluttered her eyelashes up at Elias.
“No.” Elias folded his arms over his chest.
She frowned and pursed her lips.
“Just get her the damn water,” I muttered, peering over at Elias. He scowled and moved to the kitchen area.
I rubbed my arms and got closer to the fire.
“You don’t deserve them,” she said, abrupt and harsh.
Wood from the fire popped as it was slowly devoured.
“For your sake, I’ll act like you didn’t say that.” I forced a pleasant smile and stepped up to her. I leaned lower so my face neared hers. “Keep your opinions to yourself. Next time they try to kick you out, I won’t stop them.”
She paled and shrunk into herself.
“Briar!” Kyan’s shout echoed from upstairs.
“I have a warm bed to return to with my Alphas.” I turned my back on her and ascended with quick, padding steps.
An arm caught me as I entered the room, and Kyan swept me up, my belly curved over his stomach, stealing my air.
He tossed me onto the bed. I bounced a few times, and he dragged me to the edge, toward him, yanking my shorts off when I hit the edge.
“Where were we?” Kyan purred and pushed my knees wider to fit his shoulders.
“Dealing with one of your prior lovers.” I couldn’t withhold the bite in my tone. “Would either of them . . .”
I trailed off, not knowing what I was asking.
Kyan frowned.
“Are you worried we’ll step out on you?”
I worked to swallow. “Nevermind.”
“None of us would ever.
I gave him a look. “I saw Sin kiss that woman.”
Kyan’s lips thinned and disapproval reflected in his dark gaze. “He couldn’t have fucked anything; did he tell you how much doing that fucked him up? Especially when he figured out you saw?”
I floundered for words. In all honesty, I wasn’t sure. Pressure ballooned in my stomach a mix of relief and fear.
“Now, stop your nonsense,” he murmured with a little smile.
Kyan pressed his mouth over my clit. I gasped, writhing under the curve of his tongue. His damp hair hung on his forehead.
I couldn’t stop my moans, gasps, and screams.
He made me come over and over again.
And I didn’t care that the nosy Omega downstairs could hear every little bit of it.
