Lisa sighed, “We need to talk. I think this whole ordeal has gone on long enough.” I told her, “There we agree.” My ex smiled triumphantly, “Good. I want the whole line of new Coach bags and several diamonds to make up for this. I think it’s going to take an engagement ring too.
” I couldn’t help it, I started laughing. Lisa frowned.
Channing linked, “I did not sleep enough for this, Keaton.” My wolf might just shift any second if I didn’t get this under control. I scoffed at my ex, “God, you’re delusional. We aren’t getting engaged ever, and I’m not buying you a damn thing.”
Lisa shouted, “You said you agreed it had gone on long enough.” I nodded, “Yes, I meant you and me. We went on long enough. I can’t think of a single thing I like about you.” Lisa shrieked, “How can you say that?” I heard a growl as she reached for me.
Apparently, my dad, uncles, and grandpa had gone for a run.
Ratchet was snarling at Lisa. My ex sighed, “We will talk at school, Keaton.” I scoffed, “No, we won’t.

Lisa shouted, “We are getting married.” Channing snarled at her. Lisa gasped, “Stop being so mean to me, Channing! I’m going to be your mate.” Channing growled, “NO!” Then shifted and snapped his jaws at her. You know, I could probably stop my wolf. The thing was I didn’t want to.
Emmett linked, “Keaton, calm down.” I replied, “Keaton is just fine, Channing is upset.” Emmett sighed, “Talk to your wolf.” I hummed, “I’m good.” Emmett sighed. Dad shifted back but Bolt was in charge, “Pup, you had places you wanted to go.”
Channing grumbled, “He calls me pup all the time now. In this tone that says I am errant pup that needs coddling. THIS IS HER FAULT!” My wolf snarled at Lisa.
I linked Emmett, “Channing says it’s Lisa’s fault Bolt is using that ‘you’re being an unreasonable small pup tone.
’ It upsets him so.” Emmett groaned down the link.
Ted said, “I don’t know, I think Channing could get angrier if we are being honest.” Channing bobbed his head at Ted. Bolt said, “Not helpful.” Grandpa linked me, “Weren’t you picking up Katie?” I shifted back and someone snapped clothes on me.
I grumbled, “Now, I’m going to be late picking up my girlfriend.

” Lisa cried, “You’re so mean to me now.
” I retorted, “You’re going to want to move because I currently I think you need psychiatric attention.
I’m not buying you a DAMN ENGAGEMNET RING!
” Lisa still didn’t move from my driver’s side, so I flashed to the passenger side.
I saw Clara laughing her ass off about it.
Engaged. Lisa was off her rocker. I linked Clara, “If that psychopath has access to my cards, freeze them and get new ones. Make sure every account EVERYWHERE knows Lisa does not have the authority to buy shit using MY NAME!” Clara agreed, “Consider it done.” Good.
I linked Malachi, “Please advise all the Betas I AM NOT BUYING THAT HORRIBLE THING AN ENGAGEMENT RING! I better NOT hear a SINGLE word about an ENGAGEMENT TO LISA! Because if my girlfriend hears ANYONE SAYING THAT I will lose my shit with my wolf right along for the ride. Channing will probably be angrier than me.” My wolf grumbled, “Channing will MURDER people if that happens.” Good to know I was right.
Malachi replied, “I’ll just be telling the Betas that. Syncing with my sister on this issue and getting Emmett. Stat.” What the fuck was Emmett going to do? My brother called me on my cell phone, so I answered through the speaker. I asked, “What? Did you not hear that psycho?!”
Emmett said, “I did. I linked you when you shifted, little brother. Malachi and Clara said interesting things.” I snorted, “I’m protecting myself when I shouldn’t have to!
I shouldn’t have to be worried that crazy girl is going to use MY MONEY, or our family’s, to buy an ENGAGEMENT RING EMMETT! ” Channing snarled.
Lightning took over, “Little brother, it won’t happen.
” Channing growled at him, “I will kill people if it does.” I took back over, “If Lisa makes those rumors circulate Katie could hear them, Emmett.” Emmett assured me, “We are on top of it. Please, breathe.” I grumbled, “I am breathing. I can’t lose her. ”
Emmett said, “That’s fascinating. Why?” I huffed, “I need you to understand Channing is sitting on detonate. No whispers of an engagement to that THING can go around. Or people are going to die.” Emmett muttered, “Wow.” We talked a little longer before I hung up, feeling slightly calmer.
Dad linked, “Do you need to come home?” I snorted, “Where the psycho lives? NO. I need to see my girlfriend!” Dad snorted, “Ok then. Please drive faster.” I rolled my eyes but floored it. I called Preston. My friend answered, “Hello, Keaton.”
I growled, “You make sure every jewelry store your family owns is aware Lisa is PSYCHO and cannot buy AN ENGAGEMENT RING ON MY ACCOUNTS!” Channing was there in the end. Preston snorted, “You’re joking. She wouldn’t actually do that, right? This is a joke.”
I growled, “I am not joking! She just told me I needed to buy her a bunch of shit culminating in an ENGAGEMENT RING!” My hands were turning into claws. Preston said, “Consider it done. I can ban her from any store we have a stock in.” I agreed, “Yes, do that.”
Preston chuckled, “You know that’s every jewelry store in a fifty mile radius.
” I snorted, “I don’t fucking care. I AM NOT GETTING ENGAGED TO HER!
” Preston snorted, “Alright. I will. Then I’ll casually mention it to my mother and charms will be done so Lisa cannot purchase herself ad engagement ring.
Probably ever, but definitely not from you. ”
I agreed, “I love the plan.” Preston added, “I will also tell Micah to set up traces or whatever he does so he’d notified. Be worried when Melanie finds out he did so because your ex might die.” I snorted, “That would solve ALL the problems.” Preston laughed and hung up the phone.
Uncle Cameron linked me, “So, my Beta got an interesting email. I own a jewelry store with Jackson, Keaton.” I asked, “AND?!” Uncle Cameron busted up laughing, “Oh my god, this is so funny. You set Haley Conners charm loose. The email is from her.” Preston worked quickly and said email was probably full of very creative profanity.
Channing told me, “That whole conversation with our ex was weird.” I asked, “Did Lady say anything?” Channing answered, “Lady was asleep. She’s been really depressed about something lately and won’t talk about it.” Naturally.
I arrived at Odette’s apartment to find Ken waiting in the lobby when I walked through.
Kincade was beside him. I warned, “Don’t start with me.
” Kincade pleaded, “Tell me the pack link is wrong.” I asked, “About?” Don’t be about Lisa.
Channing sighed, “It will be.” No. I was done with her name today.
Ken offered, “Tyler woke me up yelling asking if I’d seen you yet. His dad blocked out his link, but the pack link is saying your ex wants you to propose.” I growled and shifted into Channing. Kincade yelled, “Fuck! Keaton, shift back! People live here that don’t know about us.” Ken’s eyes widened.
Emmett linked, “YOU SHIFT BACK RIGHT NOW!” I huffed, “Fine.” Channing said, “I have so many wolves talking to me. I’m going to defer them all to Ratchet because he thinks I’m funny.” That would be amusing. I kind of wished I could hear these conversations.
I shifted back, “Yes, it’s true but Preston is going to make sure Lisa can’t buy SHIT! Aunt Haley is set loose on charms and Micah is doing technical things. While I hold out hope that Melanie finds out ASAP and KILLS MY EX for the good everyone.”
Ken’s jaw dropped. I linked Benji, “I need clothes.” He must have snapped because I had them on.
Kincade groaned, “Fuck! I have to go.” I asked, “Why?” He was already gone though.
I looked at Ken. Ken smiled, “Kincade has always guarded your mom with my brother Kevin. My guess is your mom will lose it when she finds out. If she hasn’t already. ”
I told him, “Given Aunt Haley is aware, mom must be too. Don’t say anything around Katie.
” Ken agreed, “That goes without saying. Also the muffin Luna might not place a high priority on your ex, so I wouldn’t hold my breath on that option.
She categorizes quite well. So, your ex is probably on Luna Melanie’s list but low on it. Let’s try not shift in the lobby. Ok?”
I huffed, “Let’s try my ex not being a goddamn psychopath who upsets my wolf so much he shifts. That feels like a better way to phrase that.” Ken snorted. I went upstairs. Emmett linked, “Now, that you’re calmer: DO NOT SHIFT IN APARTMENT LOBBIES!”
I snarled, “People need to STOP saying the words Lisa and engaged to me if they would like me to not do things like shift in lobbies.” Emmett groaned. Channing said, “I’m informing Lightning I WILL SHIFT if someone says those things together.”
I checked my watch noting I was now officially late. Everyone sucked. I linked Keith, “Are you and May up for a double date after school?” Keith answered, “At the roller skating rink? Heck yes, we are. I heard I can’t say other things about crazy people.”
