Someone who got it. I should’ve linked Keith first. Channing admitted, “Stone said he’d go right and I could go left so we could annihilate the problem.
” That would be Lisa. I agreed, “Plan away.”
At school Lisa tried to talk to me several times, but I didn’t even stop walking.
Clara looked at me. I groaned, “What?” Clara said, “You always stop to listen to her. Always.” I shrugged, “I don’t want to and I noted you didn’t say her name.
It’s appreciated.” I heard a shriek that had Channing whining.
Clara rubbed her ears linking the pack, “GOOD LORD, REALLY LISA?! What are you? A banshee? Shut up!” Several people snickered. I linked my Beta, “Banshee?” Clara sighed, “So, I looked up things trying to solve your mystery. I’ve decided Lisa could be a banshee with that shriek.”
I laughed, “Have you found anything on Katie?” Clara shook her head, “No, not yet.” I sighed. I was looking forward to lunch and seeing my mate. I walked in but Odette wasn’t there. We sat down after I got us both lunch, but she never came.
I asked Immy, “Where is Katie?” Immy frowned, “I don’t know, she was here earlier.” I got up and let Channing come forward. Odette wasn’t in school though. I called her phone, but it went to voicemail. I frowned, barely focusing in my classes, after that.
What happened? Did Odette’s family find her and take her away? Why wouldn’t she answer her phone? After school we discovered no one had seen Katie since before lunch. I was pacing. I growled, “Channing is going to shift and find her.”
Keith advised, “Let’s just go by her place first. Maybe Katie just went home.” I growled, “Why isn’t she answering her phone then?” I nearly shifted in anger. Suddenly my mate’s scent reached me before she spoke. Everything was right in the world again.
Odette said her phone was in her locker, but I knew it wasn’t. I would’ve heard it buzzing or ringing when I called it. Keith linked me, “If only we could mention we knew that was a lie without sounding insane.”
I sighed, “Katie’s getting in touch with family, but she doesn’t realize they are Supernatural’s. They might have told her to lie to us. Given my girlfriend thinks they are in the mob, she’d probably do it to protect us.” Keith inclined his head.
Now that I knew Odette was ok, I was getting excited about the roller skating rink. I saw Lisa seething as we left the parking lot. She really needed to stop because this was beyond ridiculous. When I brought Odette inside the skating rink her reaction was everything I had wanted.
I could see the surprise on her face and actually looked like she might cry; which I did not like at all. Then Odette said she loved me. Keith linked, “We will just be over there.” I didn’t care. I kissed my mate hard, which had her melting against me.
When I pulled back to touch Odette’s face gently. I told her, “I love you too, my Song.” Odette blushed, “I know it’s like way too soon to say that.” I kissed her gently then whispered, “I don’t care, I love you.” She smiled and kissed me again.
Eventually Keith cleared his throat, and I managed to pull back. My twin looked pale but also deeply amused. I linked him, “What’s up?” Keith said, “Let’s just have our date.” May was trying not to laugh so it must not be too serious.
I felt a tug on my link. I opened it for a second to hear Lisa shriek, “THAT BITCH…” Channing snarled and shut her out. I was furious but shoved it aside to focus on Odette. I walked behind the counter and got her skates. My mate was beaming with happiness.
I couldn’t help but smile at Odette while I helped her put them on. May had started playing music over the sound system. I helped Katie onto the rink. She took to it really well. My mate giggled when we brought the limbo stick out. We were all surprised she won.
Odette winked at me. I growled and pulled her off the rink and took her to an office in the back. My mate asked, “What is…?” I kissed her, cutting her off. I pulled her against me and rocked into her. Odette groaned, “I didn’t bring condoms with me, Key.”
I bit her neck and slid down her body. I loved that she wore skirts a lot. I ripped her underwear off and got to work with my tongue. Odette was screaming my name quickly. I made her come three times before she collapsed. I chuckled as I caught my mate, keeping her upright while her legs shook.
Odette breathlessly said, “See? Ten times is insane, you’d kill me.” I snorted, “Nope.” My mate kissed me again then I led her back to where May and Keith were waiting with food. We ate laughing and getting along like the unit we were.
The second we finished Emmett linked me, “I need you at home.” I winced, “If this is about last night, I’m sorry I got upset with you.” Emmett told me, “It’s not. I wish it was. God, I wish it was about that or even all the shifting you did this morning but it’s not.”
I told him, “If it’s about Lisa being insane and saying I’m proposing to her I’m still not doing that. Hell, I took steps to ensure she couldn’t buy a ring on my dime.” Emmett snorted, “Trust me, I know. It’s also not about that.” Damn. What else happened?
Odette sighed, “I have to get work.” I told her, “We will drop you off.” I made out with her in front of the store until Immy came out squealing, “Katie, you are my idol! I can’t believe you did that. It’s SO awesome. Awesome is the word literally everyone is using for it.”
I asked, “What happened?” Immy snickered.
Odette shrugged, “I’m not sure.” Immy giggled, “You have to love her. Katie literally has no idea because she has no idea about stuff. It’s a small community, Katie Karlton.
Word gets out when interesting things happen.
” Odette flushed, “Oh. That was fast.” Immy snickered again.
Before I could ask, Immy waved me off, “Shoo! I need all the glorious details.” She pushed me away. I snorted, “Fine then.” I blew a kiss to my mate then got in my truck and drove off. I asked, “So, what happened?” May started laughing.
Keith answered, “Katie filed a restraining order. That’s why she wasn’t in school.” I asked, “Against who?” Then it hit me. I shouted, “OH FUCK! What did that bitch do now?” This was about Lisa. Channing snarled in my head.
Keith carefully said, “I don’t know, I was with you.” I threw my truck in park and flashed inside. This scene was all too familiar. Lisa’s family, and mine, were waiting. I snarled at her, “WHAT DID YOU DO?!” Lisa shrieked, “ME?! I…”
I cut her off roaring, “WHAT DID YOU DO?! Restraining orders don’t just get granted!” Lisa sneered, “Little miss tattletale didn’t share the details?” I had her by the throat in seconds. I warned, “Say another word, I dare you.”
Channing was ready to take over and rip her to pieces. My ex was turning blue. Lisa’s mom yelled, “You’re killing her!” I replied, “And? The world would be a better place without her.” Emmett linked me, “Let her go.” I dropped Lisa and she immediately gasped for air.
I spat out, “I’ll ask you one more time, what did you do?” Lisa rubbed her throat and looked at me. Her eyes started welling up. I snarled, “Save your tears for someone who gives a shit. WHAT DID YOU DO?!”
Lisa stood and pushed me, rather she tried, but I didn’t budge.
My ex ignorantly said, “I told Katie the truth! You and I are meant to be together, and she filed a restraining order.” I snorted, “Don’t lie.
The police station wouldn’t process a restraining order for that. Also, I’m not meant to be with you.”
Lisa moved towards me, but mom flashed in front of her. Mom threatened my ex, “Don’t touch my son, or you WILL regret it.” Channing snarled, “I’m nearly ready to shift again.” This felt like a warranted shifting situation because our mate had been threatened.
Emmett said, “Lisa, I have the video evidence of why Katie had the restraining order granted. So, would you care to try again?” Keith linked, “That’s why your mate didn’t answer the phone, the police had it.” I replied, “I got that.” Lisa snorted, “She recorded me? That could be faked.”
Emmett retorted, “It’s not a recording just of your voice. You can see you IN the video. Even if we couldn’t, you make your voice so distinctive even though we know it’s fake. I can see you and the three girls behind you, in said video. Which is why they are here.”
Lisa argued, “It’s her word against ours.” I asked, “Are you dense? It’s your word against video evidence. Even if it was just your word, I’d believe Katie over you. Literally everyone would.” Lisa sneered, “My Alpha wouldn’t.”
Emmett said, “Oh, yes, he would. You physically assaulted Katie and threatened to have her killed.” Channing snarled and took over shifting in Emmett’s office.
To be fair, I let him. Lisa screamed as my wolf went at her.
Dad, Emmett, Malachi, Colton, and Tyler tackled me as Lisa’s friends fled the room.
Channing snarled down the link, “I’LL FUCKING KILL HER!” Emmett yelled, “GET LISA THE HELL OUT OF HERE!” Grandpa Frank hummed, “I’m old and can’t get up too quickly anymore. It might take me a while. Channing will definitely be free before I mosey on over.”
Dad yelled, “DAD!” Grandpa simply swirled his whiskey, “Survival of the fittest is still a thing in our world. Lisa clearly has no survival instincts since she hasn’t left. I think she should suffer for her choices. Actions have consequences.” Lisa’s parents shoved my ex out the door.
Emmett ordered, “Channing, give Keaton control.” Channing shifted back but was still in charge. My wolf shouted, “If you don’t think my human is on board with killing that EVIL THING you are wrong. He’d kill her too. LISA HIT HER! SHE SAID SHE WOULD KILL HER!”
