I asked, “How did you break it?” Melanie answered, “Well… the white wolf is a legend. I’m a goddess. Technically… speaking…. well... no… I just am… yeah… that’s weird.” I snorted, “I’ve read about the white wolf in my books. Honestly, it makes sense it’s you because you’re amazing.”
My friend flushed me, “Freya is restoring your wolf to full strength. You’ll be able to shift once… we are in a safe place. Freya assures me it will be…. Painless, since you’ve suffered so much. Umm… have you seen some black wolves in a dream?”
I nodded, “Actually yes, with a redheaded woman. She teleported then I think I saw her in the past.” I definitely did. Melanie smiled, “You’ve seen my mother in law.” I admitted, “I saw her twice. I’m pretty sure it was in the past. Her husband is someone I felt this need to comfort.”
I whispered, “We look alike.” Melanie rubbed my shoulders, “I can explain that.” I shook my head, “I want you to explain in person not wherever this is. What’s the escape plan?
Delana said there was one.” Melanie smiled, “I like her…. after ummm I verified she was good.” I admitted, “Me too.” While smirking knowing that meant Melanie probably kidnapped Delana to decide.
Melanie said, “Your kidnappers… who I will kill… are going to call Keaton soon. He’ll be back from the Alpha meeting. They’ll call and ransom you. Yellow Hills… that’s Keaton’s Pack’s name… will bring in their allies in.”
Melanie winced, “So… it WILL get all Alpha male. My poor mother in law…. and your future mother in law… I mean, we don’t have the same mother in law. I mean Haley for me… and Lexi for you. Gosh… Sierra is supposed to be here to stop me.”
She waved, “Anyway…. Those two women will have to try to reign all the Alpha blood… in. I don’t think it’s going to work because Xander will be pretty mad… at me… well… kind…of… it was a noble cause.” Her Xander might want to get used to that. Melanie always had noble causes.
Melanie continued, “Well… we did just talk about me not just running off… but there were extenuating circumstances. Xander has to understand that. Right? Like… I had to come after you… I just… didn’t pause…
and I left my phone… Ok, I could technically still contact him…
he has his watch… and I could link him… yeah ok, I’m screwed. ”
I snickered enjoying the rant because I’d missed my friend. Melanie turned to her wolf, “No agreeing to not healing my butt again!” I snorted, “What?” Melanie sighed, “Alpha wolves and their sexy punishment. Keaton will probably spank you too.”
I couldn’t deny that the thought excited me. Melanie said, “Right…. Focus. The plan. I’m going to come in wolf form. Delana will give you a key to your cuffs when there’s a distraction. You…. run outside and I’ll meet you.” I frowned, “I’ll fight with you.”
Melanie shook her head, “No, Freya can electrocute people. So… I’m going to electrocute the room once you…. and Delana are out. Just get outside. I’ll be right behind you. I’ll stay in wolf form…. while they can see me… I’ll get you home.”
I asked, “Why not just let them pay the ransom?” Melanie snorted, “No one kidnaps my friends and gets away with it. That’s insulting.

They can lie. That’s a thing they can do…

I told her, “I was given a lot of information by said kidnappers. This comes back to someone named Cassandra Conners.” Melanie groaned, “You’ve got to be kidding me!
Actually… of course you’re not.” I whispered, “They killed Keaton’s grandma because of it and hurt your mother in law, trying to kill Lexi. ”
Melanie groaned, “Oh that’s just… ok… so…
we are going to have to… figure out… how to drop that information…
you, me, Keaton, Dylan, Caleb, Phil, and…
. my dad…” I frowned, “Your dad?” Melanie groaned, “Yeah… about that. My family isn’t dead.
That was magic… it’s been a constant roller coaster for us. ” Holy shit.
Melanie waved, “For what you learned…. we will have to meet with that small group and figure out how to explain…. to the larger group, what you learned. We won’t keep it from them.
Maybe we just let everyone sit… with the information we get.
Oh gosh, I’m going to have to avoid… everyone. They will know I know something.”
I snorted, “You still can’t lie.” Which I found oddly comforting. It would be sad if Melanie figured out lying because her attempts were adorable. Melanie winced, “I mean… I’m getting better.” I laughed, “I doubt that. It’s endearing when you try.” Melanie grumbled, “It’s annoying.”
Freya whined. Melanie said, “It’s showtime, Odette. I’m coming. So… stick to the plan and you’ll be home soon. Everything will fall into place. Your mom… might die though… ok so might… is the wrong word. Someone will definitely kill her… oh my gosh! Why can’t I stop talking?”
I snorted, “Deal. That bitch tried to marry off to some evil dude.” Melanie asked “Who? We can totally kill him… I mean I can… so.. it’s no big deal.” Before I could answer our wolves knocked us into a small creek. I woke up with a red eyed person hovering over me.
The not rabies wolf slapped me shouting, “WAKE UP!” I winced, “I’m up.” Someone said, “You’re not supposed to hurt her! Are you kidding me?! She was already in a car wreck. Jesus, you want that Hood/Alpha to kill us.”
I asked, “Hood? Wolves have gangs?” Melanie did not mention that.
They snorted. One guy answered, “It’s a Supernatural group.
Have you not noticed your boyfriend is insanely fast?
” He hauled me to my feet. I grumbled, “Yes, I did notice. I went to the freaking optometrist about the things I was seeing. Do Wolves eyes flicker black when they take over?” They nodded.
I internally asked, “Tatum?” My wolf answered, “Yes, Odette. I’m with you now and I’ll never leave you again.” She sounded stronger. I asked, “Is Channing Keaton’s wolf?” Tatum purred, “Yes.” I chuckled because Melanie was right. That was funny.
Tatum said, “I do love that you’ve keyed our mate up. You called him an Aussie.” Oh my god. Keaton wasn’t role playing, that was his wolf getting in on sexy times. What a sneaky wolf. Tatum chuckled while Sassy hummed happily.
I was brought into a big room with a table and a big screen. I saw Delana in the back, and she quickly shot me a soft smile before putting on a smooth, cold look. I looked at the screen and whispered, “Mr. Miller.” It was Matt and Ted.
I was smacked in the face again, which was uncalled for.
A tear slipped out because I was mad. Sassy hissed and Tatum snarled.
Matt warned, “Don’t you dare do that again.
” A man told him. “We wish to speak to the young soon to be Alpha, Keaton Daniels. I’m sure he wants his mate back. ” They called Keaton an Alpha.
Despite the situation, I smiled because I was proud of my mate.
Keaton was a strong man. Did everyone know we were mates except me?
UGH, Rude. I watched Malachi touch Annie.
She teleported him away. It made that pop sound I’d heard around Immy.
My friend wasn’t jumping out windows or shimmying pipes. She teleported.
I asked Tatum, “Can we do that?” Tatum snorted, “No, that’s Fairies.” Damn. That was cool. Suddenly the Haley was there with Eric. There were other men who looked like him too. I did spot Jackson in that group. The base of my spine tingled while Tatum purred.
I looked like them. No, it couldn’t be. Right?
Before I focused on that my eyes were drawn to Keaton.
He made me breakfast in bed and everything was just perfect.
I wanted to apologize. I whispered, “Ke…” Then was slapped before I finished saying his name.
The entire side of that call snarled but I wasn’t scared. Nope. I grinned.
I’d never heard Keaton sound so angry, but I felt perfectly happy. Sassy and Tatum were very happy with Keaton’s defense of us. I grumbled at them both, “We don’t need to be wet right now. We can’t have sex at this moment so cool it.” They both huffed at me.
Yeah, well, they could be testy all they wanted. Now my underwear was soaking wet and I was sexually frustrated. That was their fault. Keaton threatened, “Do that again and I’ll take off your hand before I rip you apart piece by piece.” Wow, that was sexy. Tatum purred, “Yes, it was.”
Emmett grabbed Keaton’s shoulders. I apologized, “I’m so sorry.” Keaton gently told me, “You have nothing to be sorry for, this wasn’t your fault.” A man demanded, “We want two million dollars.” My eyes widened and my jaw dropped. Who would pay that for me?
Eric agreed before anyone else could, “Done.” I actually felt like I heard the period Eric didn’t say. Done. Just like that. I gasped, “What? Just like that? For me? Are you serious? Is he serious?” I looked all around, but no one was looking at me.
