791 THE LUNA’S ORDER
Iris was hyperventilating when she opened her eyes again and found herself back in the bathroom, where her body was still dipping into the warm water, yet she was trembling, as if the water had turned into ice.
"Amee! Amee!" Iris screamed, she was mortified by the images she just saw.
That was not a dream, that was real. For some reason, she knew that was something that might happen in the future, the feeling was the same like when she lived in Na’s memories. Iris knew it was not only mere images that popped in her mind. It was a warning...
Meanwhile, Amee immediately entered the room when she heard how Iris screamed, she rushed in with Dyne and Eron, but all of them waited in front of the door, as Amee stepped in.
"What is it, Amee?! Everything is alright?" Dyne asked, concern in his voice.
"Yes, yes...!" Amee was confused to see Iris was crying silently, tears streamed down her face, but there was no sound coming out of her mouth. "Don’t come! Don’t come! Wait there!"
Amee looked around and got a towel to cover her body, as she helped her to get out of the tub. Iris was trembling. She looked like she was going to faint and this scared Amee.
What actually happened? She just entered the bathroom less than half an hour ago when she suddenly screamed on the top of her lungs.
"Call a healer! Find a healer!" Amee shouted to the door and he heard one of them dashed away to look for one. "Luna, what is going on? What happened? Are you hurt somewhere?"
Iris stared into the wall, her face was pale, but tears kept streaming down her face. This mortified Amee so much, she thought Iris got back her memories about her babies. If that was what happened, she didn’t know how to handle her.
"Luna, you scared me, please talk to me..." Amee pleaded with her, as she dried her body and helped her to put on some dress. Her wet hair drenched her back, but Iris couldn’t care less about it.
Amee helped Iris to go out of the bedroom when she had done putting her dress on and helped her to lay down on the bed.
However, when Iris saw Eron there, she looked like she was snapped back to reality. She grabbed the warrior’s arm tightly, which startled him.
"Luna? Are you, okay?" Eron was very concern to see Iris’s current state.
"Take me to Cane." Iris’s voice sounded a little raspy after her cry, but in her second attempt, it sounded more stable and powerful. "Take me to Cane."
"Luna, I can write a letter to the alpha and tell him if you wanted to see him," Eron tried to bargain, since he knew the luna missed her mate so bad and he could understand her frustration.
But, right now it was not that case anymore.
Hearing what Eron said, Iris’s blue eyes turned very cold and hard, which made the warrior flinched and actually took a step back, he would take another step back if it was not for the fact Iris was clutching onto his arm right now.
"Take me to Cane right now, or I am going there alone!" Iris barked her order, once she snapped back to reality, she realized the dire situation they were in and Cane and the other might not realize it yet.
"I can write a letter..." Eron didn’t get a chance to finish his sentence when Iris growled at him in frustration.
"That ridiculous man will ignore the letter! Damn it, Cane!" Iris cursed at him for the first time and this shocked Eron and Amee.
Their sweet luna was cursing. She was actually cursing at the alpha... was she really, alright?
"This is not the situation where I can explain in a letter!" Iris gritted her teeth. "Go and prepare a horse for me, we are leaving after I changed my dress!"
The order came very natural to her and it left Eron with no other choice, but to oblige her. Iris used her luna’s voice without her even realizing it, in her haste to go to see Cane.
Eron swallowed his words and rushed out of the bedroom, leaving Amee to coax Iris to come to her sense, but no amount of words that she said could convince Iris to stay. She was determined to leave and she would leave right away.
"At least, wait until tomorrow, luna. Let’s wait until tomorrow, okay? This is almost night," Amee said with a great concern, she didn’t know what was going on that caused Iris wanted to go immediately to the campsite. "Until then, let’s write to the alpha, okay?"
Yet, Iris didn’t want to listen another word about writing a letter to Cane, because she knew how wasteful of an effort that was.
More so, this was not something she could write, she needed to face the man and talk to the Holy Kingdom people directly to explain what she saw and get a better understanding of their current situation.
"Luna..." Amee helped Iris to pack her dress, but she kept persuading her to stay, if anything she should leave tomorrow morning.
"Amee." Iris stopped what she was doing and looked at the old lady, she hugged her tightly. "Thank you, but I need to go. This is very urgent. This is something important, please stopped persuading me to stay, because this matter could put Cane and the rest of us in danger too."
Amee wanted to speak again, but Iris left no room for negotiation. In the end, Amee could only pack her things quickly and followed her out of the bedroom.
In the front yard, Eron, Dyne and Redmond had been waiting for her.
The red hair warrior looked at her with confusion. "Where do you think you are going? You need to stay here," he said sternly. "This is the alpha’s order."
Iris scrunched her nose at him when she heard. "And this is my order, I am going to leave now, so open the gates."
"I can’t let you go without explanation, Iris," Redmond was being stubborn with her, but this was simply not the right time to give Iris such attitude. "The alpha said for you to stay here."
"You pledged your loyalty to me Redmond, you must obey me. My order is above Cane’s in your case," Iris said firmly, she said those words confidently like the luna she was. She knew how to use her status to get what she wanted and in a way, she was right.
Redmond pledged his loyalty to her and whatever Cane’s order was, it would be nullified once Iris disagreed with it, if it came to Redmond.
He was stunned, but then a smirk tugged on the corner of Redmond’s lips. "Is this an order from my luna?" he was surprised, but also elated because Iris could decide her own affair and what she wanted to do without relying so much on the alpha.
Redmond didn’t realize it, but he seemed to give up his hope for Iris to rule their pack, until now he saw the determination in her clear blue eyes.
"Yes." Iris gave him a firm reply. "Open the gate." Iris then turned to face Eron and Dyne. "If the two of you refused to take me to Cane, you can stay here, Redmond can escort me there."
Eron and Dyne wanted to cry now to face this stern luna. Where was their timid luna had gone?
"We will go with you, luna." Eron immediately came to his sense. "The alpha ordered us to protect you, this is our duty to be with you," he said hastily.
At this point, there would be no amount of persuasion that would work, thus it would be better for them to go with her and faced the alpha’s wrath for taking the luna to the battlefield than to stay and if something happened to Iris, it went without saying, they would lose their head the next thing they knew.
At the very least, if they came with the luna, she could curb the alpha’s wrath and there was a high chance, they could escape punishment all together, since this was the luna’s order.
"We will go with you," Dyne chimed in defeated voice.
And with that, Iris went to the campsite, where Cane and the rest were only with Dyne and Eron, because Redmond needed to stay in the Chrystal Moon pack, guarding the harbor.
===============================
Early in the morning, Cane received another letter, but it was an official letter that asked him to meet in person before they went clawing each other’s throat.
The letter came from alpha Derick.
This would be the first time for Cane to meet with the alpha again. He used to look up to him when he was young, but right now he felt nothing for the old man.
Currently, the two of them were facing each other.
There were five steps distance between Cane and alpha Derick, but the former felt like he was seeing a stranger. There was no familiarity that he could feel from him.
"Cane, it has been so long since the last time we met," alpha Derick started the conversation. He was actually stunned by how much Cane had grown. Despite that, alpha Derick was still be able to see the young man, who didn’t like to talk much. "You are as quiet as I remember."
"Are you going to surrender?" Cane asked bluntly.
