809 DARK MAGIC AND ALL
The sight of Ethan set off alarm in Iris’s head, she felt the world shattered as she couldn’t think straight. She looked around to see a glimpse of Cane, since he knew what to do and his presence could calm her down, but he was not here.
Aliana finally broke down crying, she kept calling Ethan’s name, as the fear overwhelmed her. This was the first time for a very long time for Jace to witness how his sister was having a mental breakdown, since she lost her baby and her mate.
Aliana was inconsolable and Jace tried to get her out of the tent, but she insisted to stay. She didn’t want to be away from Ethan, as she kept holding his hand, talking incoherently.
Abby immediately went to Ethan’s side and she had this look on her face, where she had a hard time to decide what she needed to do. She knew what she had to do, but...
"Don’t do it..." Liam held her hand. He shook his head, pleading with her to stop whatever she was going to do. He couldn’t let her to harm herself like that.
He didn’t care about everyone else. In his eyes, Abby had endured so much. She had suffered enough, there was no need for her to go through this and relived the hardest moment in her life.
"There is no need for you to do it," Liam begged her. "He is not one of us..." he finally said it. The shifters and everyone else could curse him whatever they liked, but in his eyes, only this woman was important.
He should have told Cedric and the other three knights about Abby’s decision, he didn’t do it because Abby begged him not to. She promised him that she wouldn’t be reckless and think about this decision thoroughly.
However, at time like this, there was only one option that they had.
Abby freed herself from Liam’s grip, as she went to Ethan’s side. She had done it once when she learned about the absorption from the previous Serafim, she hoped, she still remembered her lesson well and didn’t mess this up.
With that, Abby started to absorb the powerful black magic from the gamma’s body...
===========================
The burning scar on Cezi’s shoulder spread to his chest and he looked a little bit gaunt when he finally fell to his knees, because he was too weak to support his body.
Alpha Derick was freaking out when he saw this and without a second thought, he ordered the warriors to back off to Diandem pack, where he would join prince Kellan’s warriors.
But, he would go ahead first, taking Cezi with him.
His daughter was paralyzed and now his son’s life was at stake, but before he could leave the fortress of Silver River pack, the warrior that he sent to see the situation in Cane’s campsite returned.
He told him a news that made him halted whatever he was doing.
"The gamma of the Howling Wolf pack, gamma Ethan is currently very sick, from what I gathered he has been collapsed for two days now, but the luna managed to cure all the sick warriors and knights, who got food poisoning."
"The luna? That runt? Not the Serafim?" Alpha Derick furrowed his brows because the news was a little bit fishy. How she could cure them when the Serafim couldn’t? Was the rumor that he heard about her was true? She was that powerful? "Are you sure about that?"
"Yes, alpha. All the people in the camp talked about it.
It is not hard to get the information about it," the warrior replied. He was kneeling in front of the alpha. He too was surprised to hear about that, because what they knew about that luna that she was a runt, she didn’t have a wolf, but she could cure other people. ..
Actually, this was not the first case. She had done the same impossible task before with a warrior that was supposed to not able to walk again.
"She cured them all..." Alpha Derick contemplated about it, but in the end, he decided to still head for Diandem pack and joined prince Kellan’s warriors.
Meanwhile, when the night grew darker, Cane managed to find Silver Warrior’s base and killed half of them, while the rest managed to escape he and his warrior’s clutch.
Though the number of the warriors that Cane brought was not really significant, but their surprised attacked, fueled with anger for the food poisoning that put their fellow warriors in misery had made them went crazy.
The warriors fought them all relentlessly. They stopped at nothing.
From there, they could find a few things that made their expression turned sour. From the look of it, they had been reading about dark magic and the power that it held. Why would a shifter learn about dark magic when they couldn’t even use magic?
Cane asked them all to gather all the scripture on the table to bring it back to the campsite for further investigation, of course, they also brought two more Silver Warrior members to accompany alpha Gallot and his beta.
However, half way to the campsite, Cane saw the bright light. The same like the light that Iris had summoned this morning, but because it was in the pit of the dark night, the light split the sky and illuminated every dark corner of a vast area. As if turning the night into day.
They had to close their eyes because the light was so blinding, but then it disappeared. It didn’t last for long.
The moment they regained their sight back, Cane hastened his pace. The black wolf moved so fast between the hard rocks, somehow, he had bad feeling for this.
The other warriors were having a hard time to keep up with him, but then when he arrived at the campsite, he immediately knew there was something wrong.
The campsite looked like the storm just hit this place so hard.
