823 THE WAR OF DARKNESS AND LIGHT (8)

So many bears that Lil Thing brought along to the battlefield was proven very helpful. Those bears were akin to beast that rampaged through the countless number of monsters.

And when the gates were opened, the warriors went ahead to fight the monsters, this time more viciously. They fought like there was no tomorrow.

The injured beasts, who couldn’t fight anymore was immediately evacuated, they were brought inside the pack, so Grace could help them to heal and fight again. There was no time to rest.

Grace was in the safest place, but it didn’t mean, she didn’t contribute in this battle, she fought alongside them as well. She fought as hard as them too.

Meanwhile, Abby crossed her limit when she summoned the Sylph to boost the magic user and the Salamander’s power.

Fire coiled in the air, burned the monsters and turned them into ashes, as the salamander stayed close with her, while the magic user created a barrier of protection, as a safe place to retreat for the warriors and the knights.

No one was having it easy, but they saw hope and their moral was rather high to see countless bears that helped them. Those bears fought viciously.

Finally, Aliana managed to get her brother and quickly took Jace to Grace. He was bleeding and one of his eyes was wounded, but she was sure, he was going to make it and that was all that important right now.

Grace gasped to see Jace’s wound, but she immediately recovered and gained her composure to heal the beta.

Meanwhile, Redmond was slowly healed, while Ethan’s condition became more stable. The gamma was out of danger, though he was still unconscious, but this was better, because his healing ability was at the best when you rested.

"What is that?" Aliana narrowed her eyes and from afar, from the direction of the pack house, she saw many beasts rushed forward.

This was the people from the Silver River pack member. All of them came out of their houses and shifted into their beasts to help in this battle.

You could see there were a few little beasts too, which meant, even the little ones were also trying to help.

Aliana was touched, but her heart ached because the young beasts shouldn’t have fought in this battle. Yet, in this chaos, she couldn’t prevent them all from doing so and all she could do was to keep her eyes on them and pushed them back from being too close to the gates as much as possible.

The clamor shattered the air and the fight lasted for long, until the sky turned dark and the sun set.

By the time they managed to close the gates again and secured all the warriors, knights, magic users and even the helpful bears, it was already night.

There were only two magic users, who survived, ten bears, including Lil Thing, which lost one of it ears and its white fur coated with blood and dirt.

Many knights died too, so did the warriors, but they managed to kill a lot of monsters as well, leaving a few dozen that was still prowling outside of the fortress.

The warriors, the knights and the member of Silver River pack mingled together, even after the battle was over, they didn’t have time to rest, because there were a lot of things that needed to be done.

"Aliana, what about the alpha and the luna? I have not yet seen Zale and Lou too," Joel asked Aliana. He looked worried. The last time he saw, the young boy dashed away to follow the merchant.

Aliana stared at the dark sky and you still could see the eye of the storm in the distance. It was still in the same spot, but if it started to move and head this way, they really needed to be worried, because even with this great distance between them, it was still terrifying.

"I don’t know..." Aliana said in defeated tone. "I am not sure." She prayed they would be safe. But, after countless prays were left unheard, she didn’t really feel good about it.

Joel followed Alliana’s line of sight and the furrow between his brows deepened.

It was a long and horrendous day, the battle that they didn’t expect at all.

"The Dragon!"

One of the warriors shouted from afar.

After the lycan dealt with the dragon and that majestic creature fell from the sky, they forgot about it completely.

Thankfully, the portal had stopped spitting monsters and now what was left was the monsters outside of the gates.

"What now?" Joel groaned, he shifted into his beast and went to climb the fortress to check what was going on.

After the crazy attack from the monsters, apparently, they had to deal with the dragon and Dexter.

"This is not good..." Otis said to no one in particular when Joel stood next to him. "We can’t afford another battle."

Let alone fighting a dragon, all the Silver River pack members, warriors and knights were beaten after a long night of fight.

"Where is Lou? We need him. He is a powerful magic user!" Redmond asked, he looked around and couldn’t find the merchant. He was getting better now and was a little bit annoyed because he had to miss the epic fight earlier.

"He is out there," Joel said. "I think." He pointed at the eye storm in the faraway. "The alpha and the luna, also the king, all of them are there."

There was this complicated look in Redmond’s eyes. "We need to focus on how to deal with this dragon."

"Do you have any idea?" Pax asked. He was too tired to even think the right thing to do.

"We need the beta," Zephyr said, as he went away to look for Jace.

Meanwhile, Lou and Zale were thrown quite far away from the eye storm, even so the strong wind was still howling in their ears painfully.

"The light is dimming!" Zale pointed it out.

"I know, I can see that too, brat!" Lou replied.

Zale grumbled a few incoherent things that Lou didn’t even bother to understand, he tried to look into the barriers of dust and rocks also the black wisp that blocked the sight of Cane and Iris, but he couldn’t find anything.

"I am hungry..." Zale growled. He didn’t eat anything since yesterday and now the sun was almost up again.

He was used with hunger before, but ever since he followed the luna, he had never experienced this horrible feeling anymore.

At the same time, Decratic was furious. He just regained his consciousness after was being thrown away from inside the eye storm.

But right now, he couldn’t even enter it. As if there was a strong protection shield that prevented him from stepping inside.

This was definitely not a divine power, since Iris had lost it. The five swords had gone. The Serafim’s divine power had disappeared too. There is no way Na could draw her power anymore to fight him.

Therefore, the only logical thing was; this was Lu’s power. After all, the black wisp was his signature power.

"This is not right..." Decratic raised both of his hands, as he gathered his power within his palms.

Everything went so well, just like how he had planned and predicted, but why it went downward when he started to see the end of it? What he missed? What went wrong with his perfect plan?

Iris shouldn’t have recovered from the darkness in her heart. The misery should have restrained her to see light anymore.

Thus, how could this turn into the direction that Decratic didn’t predict?

Decratic couldn’t accept this. He wanted Iris, Na herself, who killed Lu, with that it would seal the pain. She would never recover from that.

But, why they were inside the eyes of the storm for such a long time and didn’t come out? What was going on with the two of them?

And what kind of power that prevented Decratic from entering this barrier?

It was mystery what was happening between Iris and Cane inside the storm, or what Lu and Na were going through there.

But Decratic would never think that his devil act would backfire on him very soon, in a way that he didn’t expect at all.

On the other hand, inside the storm, not only Iris and Cane, who were experiencing something that was hard to explain.

Lu and Na went through the same thing. Magic was full with mystery and when Lu and Na’s power collided, it created a world, where there was only the two of them.

It was dusk, the sky was the color of red, the color that Na loved the most because she thought it was the same like her hair.

She was staring at the sky from the place she was sitting, the meadow was vast and the wind was not cold enough for her to wear warm cloak and the velvety grass swayed around her.

Na was having a long, red hair, she had beautiful eyes and when she noticed someone came approaching her, she tilted her head and flashed a beautiful smile at Lu.

"Come here, sit here with me," Na said cheerfully, she chuckled a little when she saw Lu was staring at her with confusion. "I thought you miss me, I think I am wrong in that matter."

Lu was dumbstruck. He looked around him, but out of instinct, he started walking closer to Na and sit down beside her just like how she told him to do. "Where are we?"

"Is that even matter?" Na asked playfully. She was in a good mood and Lu could tell that.

Lu grinned. "No. It doesn’t matter. Even in hell I will be pleased to have you by my side."

"You said the same thing again," Na laughed and that was the most beautiful sound Lu had ever heard. "Do you really think I will go to hell?"

"No." Lu shook his head. "That’s not your place." He stretched out his hand and caressed her cheek. She was real. He could feel the heat of her body on the tip of his fingers.

Suddenly, Na leaned over and pecked his lips. "I miss you, Lu. It has been a long time since I met you. It’s a long and a hard journey to be here with you again."

Lu pulled her closer to him and breathed in her scent. She smelled the same. The same scent that he remembered. It was very comforting.

"It’s really hard, Na..." Lu closed his eyes. "I don’t want to lose you again."

Na was silent. "Unfortunately, as much as I want to spend this eternity with you, this is not the right time for you to come with me. You need to help them first."

Lu opened his eyes. He was not happy about that. "I don’t like that alpha."

"You chose him."

"Because I sensed you nearby and he is the most qualified person to be with her." Lu pursed his lips. "I am more handsome than him, though."

Na laughed. This was silly, but this was one of the reasons why she loved to spend her time with him. How she could forget time and talk about anything with Lu.

"I know you are." Na lifted her head and kissed his chin. "But, my time is limited. I need you to listen to me."

"I always listen to you." Lu frowned. "Can I stay with you here forever and we forget about everything?"

"There is no forever if Decratic is still out there."

"I don’t care about that shitface devil," Lu complained how that devil gave him a headache and he hated his smell.

Na kissed his lips to stop him from protesting. "Lu, listen to me, okay?"

"Okay," Lu complied easily. "But can I have more kisses?"

And Na granted his wish. She hugged his neck and gave him a deep kiss he wanted.
