831 THE PROOF IS RIGHT THERE
Cedric had been wanting to talk about this, but the time was not right, therefore when the Serafim was awake, this was the right moment to bring this topic up.
Cane and Iris were about to talk about their trip tonight, they would bring a few warriors with them and would leave incognito, but now Cedric wanted to have this discussion.
"I will talk to Jace, you can go first. I will come after that," Iris said to Cane. She didn’t want to waste their time. Regarding this plan with alpha Derick, they didn’t say anything to the knight, after all, they didn’t need to know too yet.
"We need you to come as well, luna Iris," Cedric said, he was slightly insisted.
"She will come after she had finished with her business," Cane cut him off, but when the warrior became persistent for the two of them to come together, Cane wrapped his arm around Iris’s waist and spoke casually.
"In that case, you can wait until we finished our business and we will have the discussion. "
Cedric should have learned by now that he couldn’t make a demand to Cane, because the alpha would do the opposite. He was not someone that you could force to do something he didn’t want to.
"Alpha Cane!" Cedric was upset, he watched the alpha and the luna walked away, after telling him again that he would meet with him after he and Iris’s business had finished.
Iris glanced at Cedric’s furious expression because Cane didn’t take him seriously and giggled. "You shouldn’t make him upset, you know," she teased him.
"His knights contributed so little during the battle. Their Serafim didn’t really help too. Sometime, people like him should be put in their place."
Iris kissed his forearm. "The people from the Holy Kingdom will not let you go easily once you admitted about the lycan."
"They will not have any choice, but to accept it," Cane replied with certainty, which meant, he already had a plan in his mind about what to do.
Hearing that, Iris grinned and tiptoed to kiss his neck, because she could only reach him there if he didn’t bend his body to accommodate her.
With that, the alpha and the luna talked with Jace about their trip for tonight to meet with alpha Derick and Cezi and what they needed.
It was decided that Iris’s five warriors would come with her, two of Cane’s personal warriors, Redmond, Ethan and Aliana.
When Redmond came here, he was appointed Koda to be the person in charge for Blue Moon pack warrior and Will to keep tabs on everything, because there was an important thing he needed to deliver to Cane.
The alpha had asked him to find this thing, because he rather forgot where the last time he put it and he didn’t have time to look for this thing when he left.
"Should you let her do it?" Redmond asked Cane after he asked to talk in private with the alpha. This warrior was still not really friendly with Cane, despite how he obeyed his order. He respected him as Iris’s mate and as a person. "You do remember what happened when she healed Ethan, right?"
Redmond was not thrilled with the idea Iris would heal Cezi from Grebis. In his eyes, let him died. There was no need to help their enemy.
"The idea came from her. If you have any objection, you should talk with her instead of talking with me," Cane replied and Redmond scoffed.
"You know very well how she only listened to you."
"Are you trying to say she doesn’t know what is good for her or not?" Cane raised his brows, challenged him. "Are you trying to say that she is very na?ve and stupid to make her own decision, after all, you have witnessed of what she had gone through and how she is right now?"
Iris was lost for a while back then when they were faced with the death of their babies, but you should be proud of her to see how she was right now. She was still standing toughly, while dealing with the pain.
"This always be your issue, Redmond," Cane said. "You want her to be tough, but you don’t let her to make her own decision and face problem."
Cane was right in that matter.
Hearing that, Redmond didn’t say anything and only mumbled. "I hope everything will go well."
And after that brief discussion about tonight trip, Iris and Cane went to visit Abby’s bedroom, where Cedric and Liam had been waiting for them to discuss about the lycan.
From the look of it, they didn’t involve the other three of the Serafim’s holy knights, as if within the Holy Knight itself there was an internal conflict of interest.
Abby looked weak, but she forced herself to get up from the bed to have this meeting.
Liam had told her to postpone the meeting, but when she realized how long she had been unconscious and the Holy Knights had docked their ships at the Chrystal Moon pack and was on the way here, there was no time anymore to clear the air about the lycan.
"So, it’s really you... the lycan," Abby said. She didn’t waste her time to jump into the main problem here.
Cane stared at her with impassive expression. If the matter related to her, she would jump into the main topic, but if it was not, these people from the Holy Kingdom tended to talk in circle.
"Yes." Cane and Iris didn’t even budge to see how shocked they were, though they must have guessed it since the beginning.
"Do you know what will happen to you, right?" Cedric narrowed his eyes, his gesture changed, he looked defensive, as if he was waiting for an attack, despite Cane didn’t do anything and didn’t give any sign of aggression.
"The lycan is a cursed creature, something that you shouldn’t have involved yourself into and the punishment for that is death. "
"There is nothing will happen to him," Iris said, her voice was steady. She assumed the same stance like Cane, though her blue eyes filled with anger when she heard the word of ’punishment’ and ’death’. She was going to burn them down if they hurt Cane.
"What do you mean?" Abby narrowed her eyes. "It’s not up to you to decide."
"So, in your mind, it’s up to you to decide?
" Iris threw the same question to her, which made Abby gritted her teeth.
"This is not your continent, not your rule and the problem with Decratic is yours, but you failed to set the record straight with him. You caused so many deaths for our people, but you still have the audacity to say it’s not up to me to decide? "
On the other hand, Cane said nothing, he could feel how heated Iris was and seeing her like that, he leaned his back, while staring at his mate with adoration.
The silent in this room was deafening after Iris finished with her words.
But then when Iris spoke again, she softened her voice, less aggressive and didn’t take the road to press Abby down and point the glaring difference of their power, which made the Serafim insecure all this time. "Abby, there is something that all of you need to hear."
With that, Iris told her about the sixth swords, which was the lycan. She controlled the flow of this discussion so well, guiding them to the direction she wanted.
Meanwhile, the alpha enjoyed the moment where his mate stood up for him, being mad when they said they were going to punish him with death punishment.
Iris knew what she had and she utilized it very well.
Cane adored Iris’s fierce side where she shut them down effectively, making them to listen to her.
What Iris said left Abby speechless, so did Cedric and Liam.
"The first Serafim herself, who created the last sword, the sixth sword." Iris then reminded Abby about what she told her before about the sword that could kill Decratic. "Killing him is not an option if you wanted to destroy Decratic once for all."
There was no word that came from them and Cane used this moment to brew two cups of tea for the two of them, since there was only a tea set on the table.
The alpha then leisurely handed the hot cup to his mate. "Be careful, it’s hot." Because Iris took the role to lead the meeting, Cane took his time to serve her. The two of them worked well together, letting the other three people wrecked their brain with this information.
"The Holy Kingdom will not like this news." Abby finally opened her mouth, after such a long silence.
"This is never about what the Holy Kingdom liked or disliked, right?" Iris replied. "This is always about how to destroy Decratic, or maybe we have miscommunication?"
"The lycan is a cursed creature, luna Iris," Liam emphasized this point.
"Do you want to say the first Serafim made a mistake to create the sixth sword and let the lycan to carry it?"
"The first Serafim made a mistake by having an indecent relationship with a lycan," Cedric replied.
"Just like how you have an indecent relationship with the Serafim?" Cane finally spoke, his eyes fell on Liam and the look on their faces told him that he hit the right spot.
"W- what do you mean?!" Liam became unnecessarily aggressive.
"Don’t make a false rumor!" Abby was flustered, her face turned red.
"If you thought you were being secretive about it, you might want to try it again.
" Cane poured more tea into Iris’s empty cup.
"Maybe you can try to stop staring at her very often.
" Cane was still directing his words toward Liam.
"If I am not mistaken, the punishment for having indecent relationship with the Serafim is death too. "
"Alpha Cane!" Abby slammed her hands against the table. She stood up, the expression on her face showed how livid she was. "Watch what you said, or else...!"
As a response, Iris stood up as well, she couldn’t accept the way Abby threatened Cane. "Or else, what?!" Iris growled at her. "What are you going to do?!"
This became more interesting now the secret was in the open.
Cane had his own judgement. After all, he was an observant person, the way Liam stared at Abby and the interaction between them was very obvious in his eyes.
At first, he didn’t care about it, that’s not his problem or concern, but when thing turned out this way, he saw an opportunity to use this information for his own advantage.
Cane had his people in Andelus continent, that was why he could promise Lou to expand his business there, but the situation didn’t allow the plan to have smooth sailing, therefore, he used them to dig more information about the Holy Kingdom.
Cane didn’t exchange letter with them often, but the last information was pretty useful.
"Are you threatening me?!" Abby narrowed her eyes at Iris and the luna didn’t back down at all. She glared at her with the same anger. "The problem with the black magic allowed the Holy Kingdom to interfere! You can’t intimidate me with my relationship!"
"You must be mistaken, Serafim," Cane said. He tilted his head and then stared at them one by one. "That’s not a threat, neither that’s an intimidation. I am only saying the truth."
"You have no proof!" Abby was so mad. Her whole body was trembling. Cedric wanted to interfere, but he was not sure where he had to stand. What Cane said was right. As the Serafim’s holy knight, he should report the relationship between Liam and Abby right away.
Cane nodded at Abby. "The proof is in your stomach," he said calmly, which shocked all of them, including Iris. "You are pregnant, Serafim. My healer has confirmed that."
