837 THE FOUR ELDERS WERE HERE
Cane couldn’t get enough of his mate. After everything they had gone through and how many times he almost lost her, he wanted to be close with her, to feel close with her all the time...
Her scent was intoxicating and her skin hummed delightfully against his, the way she smiled, the way she pursed her lips, the way she got angry... everything about her was beautiful.
Her body heat was perfect, making him didn’t want to let her go.
The way she moaned to the way she responded to his every touch...
Cane was insatiable, he wanted to devour her whole and even after that, he still couldn’t get enough of her. Her soft skin and her gentle laugh when he teased her or the way she gasped...
"I love you, Iris..." Cane whispered to her ear when he entered her. His thrust was very slow, as he peppered her with small kisses.
The wind that blew and the rustling sound of the leaves felt ethereal. And under the shade of the tree, they made love to each other, letting the other person knew how much they were loved.
Iris stared at Cane, her blue eyes looked misty, her legs wrapped around his waist, as they moved gentle with each thrust.
It didn’t take long for her body to shudder, as her climax was close.
"Kiss me..." Iris whimpered between her moans, she pulled Cane close to her and he obliged to give her the kiss she wanted.
Hundred of lights burst from her body when she came undone, moaning into his mouth. Cane came after her, as he grunted and trembled. He filled her, until they could feel the heat of it, leaking from their intertwined bodies.
It felt surreal they actually could have this moment again, after they thought, such dark period of time. When they thought there was no way out of there.
"You are heavy!" Iris laughed when Cane’s weighed her down, though he didn’t put all of his weight on her, but it reminded Iris of the past when he did the same thing in the Black Market. It felt like a distant memory.
Her laughter was infection and this made Cane laughed as well.
At this moment in time, they felt like they could face everything, anything in this world as long as they were together. The problem with the Holy Kingdom didn’t seem like a problem anymore. They had discussed this a few times before they slept or after they made love with each other.
It was not the problem with the plan, but how to execute it. After all, their end goal was clear.
"Get up, you suffocated me." Iris hit his back playfully and Cane bit his mark on her neck before he rolled his body to the side and pulled out from her, which made Iris flinched slightly, she blushed when she felt something trickled on her inner thighs and Cane laughed at her expression.
The alpha became more relax, despite the tension of the situation.
Iris sat down and pulled down her dress to cover her legs, while Cane sat next to her as well and stared at his mate, who touched her neck and then looked at him sullenly.
"You don’t give me hickey again, right?" She was still upset because he gave her a few and made it difficult for her to choose her dress, because she had to cover it.
"I don’t." Cane kissed her shoulder and helped her to straighten her dress and neat her hair, before he pulled her closer to him, but then Iris flinched, as if he had hurt her. "What happened?" He pulled back.
Iris rubbed her thigh and Cane pulled up her dress slightly to see the small scar on her thigh, the scar she got when she was being stabbed by Lando.
"Is it still hurt?" Cane asked, he frowned. The wound had healed, but it left scar, yet he noticed sometime Iris would feel the pain from it.
"Yes, sometime. Like someone pricked it with needle," Iris admitted. "Or maybe it’s only in my mind." The pain had disappeared now.
The pain didn’t last long, it would feel like someone pricked you with needle, it didn’t hurt much, but startled you.
Cane narrowed his eyes, he didn’t like it, especially when he knew where the wound came from.
"It’s okay, there is nothing to be worried about." Iris could sense Cane’s concern and she didn’t want to add more thing into his plate. "I will ask Haco when we returned to Howling Wolf pack, I hope I have a lucid moment with him. He might know something about this."
Cane clenched his jaw when he heard that. Iris still didn’t know about Haco’s death, no one talked about him and with everything that was happening and how Cane ordered his people not to mention thing that could make her sad, it resulted with Iris still thinking Haco was still alive.
"Iris," Cane called her name and then lifted her head to look at her face when he told her as gentle as he could. "Haco is dead."
The light in her eyes dimmed and her lips were slightly trembling when she repeated what he said. "Haco... died?"
"Yes." Cane let Iris to process this information and didn’t touch her, so she wouldn’t feel overwhelmed with his presence. He gave her the space she needed.
In the past, she would have been bawling her eyes by now and her tears wouldn’t stop until a few hours, but right now, she looked sad, grieving, but when she closed her eyes and took a deep breath, she accepted this fact.
"Was he happy in his last moment?" Iris finally spoke after a long silent. She wanted to know if Haco was comfortable enough in his last moment.
"He was happy. I was there when he was gone." Cane then told her gently about Haco’s last moment and Iris chuckled a little bit when he let her knew what Haco told Lu, as he let the lycan out to say their parting word.
"I am glad, he was not alone..." Iris said with a deep sigh.
Surrounded by countless death didn’t make Iris numb, but she eventually came to term there was nothing last forever in this world, they would find their end, once their time had run out.
It was only a matter of time and Iris was glad, Haco was not alone and he was satisfied with the way he lived his life.
More so, he got a proper burial and people cried for him. People didn’t only see him as a magic user, but at the very least, there was a few people saw him as a family.
Iris really wished she could be there to hug little Celia. The little girl had lost her brother and now, she had to lose a figure that she saw as a grandfather for her. That must be very devastating for her.
After that heavy conversation, Cane and Iris returned to the pack house, but before that, they met with a few people, who tried to give Iris fruits or games that they could find when they went to hunt.
Iris was touched by how they accepted her and thanked them for that.
The rest of the day went uneventfully, they didn’t hear anything from Abby or what decision she had made. Grace also didn’t come to report anything to her, she only said Abby took the abortion potion, but she couldn’t tell whether she drank it or not.
For Cane and Iris, whether Abby would take their suggestion or not, it wouldn’t change the whole plan for them.
And the next day, the people from the Holy Kingdom finally arrived at noon, where the Serafim and five of her knights, the alpha and the luna stood in front of the gates to greet them.
Iris thought, she would meet with Rei again, since the last time she stabbed him in the Goffa mountain, she had never seen him, not even when Decratic reached his full power when he managed to put darkness into her heart.
However, the man was not there.
The existence of Rei was still a big mystery and Abby still refused to talk about him and there was nothing much they could get from the knights, as they were very tight lips about everything that related to the Holy Kingdom.
Iris glanced at Abby, looking for a sign, whether or not she took the potion, but it was hard to tell. Abby often looked pale, like she was sick.
"The four elders are here," Liam growled the words, as if the presence of them put a bad taste into his mouth. "Why there is no information about them in the letter?"
"Do you really think they will announce their presence if they didn’t want to?" Cedric replied, his eyes hardened to see the four elders, whose sitting on the horses galloped closer to them.
However, before they could reach the pack gates, they stopped and knights created a barrier in front of the elders.
"Monsters!" one of the elders screeched with the sight of Vermeyes. "Kill them all!"
For the people in the pack, they had gotten used to see these monsters and was no longer bother with them, since they did nothing, simply loitering around the fortress.
More so, Cedric had mentioned this in his letter, but apparently, it became a problem now.
"He sounds like a trouble," Lou said in low voice, as he stood next to Iris. He was late like usual and squeezed himself among the people to stand close with her.
"You said the right thing for the first time," Redmond chimed in, because he heard that, but he pushed the merchant away so he wouldn’t be too close with Iris and Ethan used this opportunity to insert himself between them, to create more distance for the luna and the merchant.
Lou scoffed, feeling annoyed he moved closer to Cane.
"What do you want to do now?" Lou watched a few knights took their position and Cedric hastily approached them to explain that he had mentioned it in the letter that the monsters were not dangerous, wondered whether the head knight had told them yet or not.
"Let them sort their own problem," Cane replied curtly. He wouldn’t join with the argumentation and wasted his breath.
The appearance of the four elders was a shock even for the knights. They didn’t expect for them to come here personally.
More so, Cane’s people didn’t say anything about this, which could be mean, the knights intentionally hid the fact the four elders came with them.
But, for what reason?
===========================
Annete, Shilla and Cassy.
Those were the names of the three little girls, who used to visit prince Kellan’s tent with the pretext they were there to accompany Arella, who couldn’t do anything.
However, after some close observation, Cezi could draw a conclusion that despite prince Kellan said, they were there to accompany his sister, but the three little girls wouldn’t visit if prince Kellan was not there.
Cezi wanted to tread this carefully, his father still refused to believe him, but alpha Derick had become less against him too.
Until in one morning when all the people were busy for the final blow to the Diandem pack, where their protection spell had been weakening, Cezi found a way to sneak into the tent, where they put the three little girls.
This tent was nice, there was a few toys and the girls were dressed nicely, but when they saw Cezi, he could feel how scared they were toward him, they huddled at the corner, hugging each other, but didn’t dare to make a sound.
Kellan had trained them to be quiet.
"Hey, I am not here to hurt you..." Cezi said, as he moved closer toward them, his voice was gentle and he tried not to scare them away.
