Paige answered, “I’ve always sensed a great power within Melanie. I’ve heard the legend because I’ve spent a lot of time around wolves the last few years. It made sense to me that it would be her. I actually knew the second I heard the roar it was Melanie.”
I cooed, “Look at you! You get a Beta in Training badge coming to you in the mail.” Sam asked, “How do we protect Ladybug?” Dalton answered, “Uhhh she can ELECTROCUTE people. So, I think Mel’s ok. Hell, she was taking on Alpha’s without a wolf. She SENT bolts at those we were fighting.”
I coughed, “Like Pikachu.” LSGAP rolled his eyes. I smiled, “He’s so cute when he’s exasperated. He knows I’ll use any chance to bring up my Pokémon’s, that he is collecting and not me. UGH! CRUEL UNIVERSE.”
“But you have to admit LGSAP, MelAshley did quite literally shoot electric bolts out at people. What else would you call her? We can’t call her MelAshley in front of others. People will figure out who she is faster. My Pokémon classifications are here for us.”
My Super Special Fun Sized Fairy Ninja Goddess said, “We spread the word…” Drake growled, “NO!” Haley sighed, “Let me fucking finish. Those that escaped will talk, so we have our packs spread that a goddess took form via the white wolf and fought with us.”
I laughed, “How evasive.” My Super Special Fun Sized Fairy Ninja Goddess snorted, “But technically, it’s true. It just implies it wasn’t a she wolf from any pack around here.” LSGAP agreed, “That’s true. It implies the goddess appeared to stop an injustice from happening. People will believe that.”
I reasoned, “Of course they will. My Super Special Fun Sized Fairy Ninja Goddess came up with it, and she’s not actually lying. She’s letting the implication lie, and people will jump on that. You just have to love Fairies.”
Jason growled, “Do you have an answer for why the HELL the goddess would allow the white fucking wolf to be kidnapped before she shifted? If they hadn’t suppressed her wolf, the Ring would’ve kept my sister hidden and hurt her even more than they did. Alexander wouldn't have found Ladybug.”
I snorted, “Had they not suppressed MelAshley’s wolf, Freya would’ve run directly to MMSGAP at a ridiculously fast pace from Nashville. They wouldn’t have been able to catch her.” Tristan snorted, “They would’ve had silver and wolfsbane with them.”
I clapped for him saying, “Ohhhh good point. Former Black Path ladies, I have heard our young MelAshley calls herself a freak,” Several people growled but I continued, “because drugs don’t work on her. She’s not just talking about medication, is she?”
“They tried to drug her with silver and wolfsbane, but it doesn’t work on her, does it? It’s nothing to her. That’s what hung her up on believing she wasn’t Drake’s daughter. Because it should’ve worked. They used it to their advantage and said a Hunter was her dad.”
All the women looked at each other, but they didn’t answer. I encouraged them, “It’s ok, I already know the answer. It doesn’t affect MelAshley and it never has because she is the white wolf, and the white wolf is immune to the effects of silver and wolfsbane.”
“Ironically, she is the ONLY wolf who is unable to be forcibly marked. They suppressed her wolf in an attempt to have her forcibly marked, but it never would’ve worked. Which is a whole other level of irony and would’ve brought the force of allies down on them if they’d managed to try.”
EJ spoke up asking, “What do you mean? Because Alexander said Oden told him that no mark but theirs would stay on Melanie’s neck.” I nodded, “Right. We know that suppressing a wolf and forcibly marking them removes their wolf forever; however, it would’ve never worked on MelAshley.”
“As a protection on her special wolf, the ONLY one who can mark her is her mate. Anyone else could try, but the mark would be rejected. MelAshley would seize and the mark would turn red. Her wolf would pull her to her plane while the mark would fade. She would return to her body without the mark.”
Sam whispered, “What do we do?” I answered, “What we would’ve done if she shifted here when she was sixteen, like she should’ve. We protect and train MelAshley. We circulate evasive Fairy like rumors, while coming up with a plan just like you would’ve if she’d shifted in your pack at sixteen.”
King Bjourn spoke, “Alexander’s Guard will be here permanently.
We can talk about whether or not Melanie herself needs one too.
” I raised my hand, “She so does, and I wish them the BEST of luck. She’s going to worse to guard than LSGAP over there.
MelAshley might even get away from them more often.
” LSGAP shot me an annoyed look, but I just smiled.
King Bjourn added, “It’s not done for Duke’s or Duchess’ mates typically, but what good is being King if you can’t change the rules?
” I teased, “Ahh the Creepy Ninja Assassins are here to help. What will you do for the Dragon your obnoxiously annoying brother in law is going to collect?” Bjourn stared at me.
I warned him, “You might want to start on that plan. I’m just saying, being prepared is your friend.
He could even get a little Loch Ness Monster.
We will call them Nessie and he or she will be here in Blue Moon more because our lake is bigger than yours in Black Mountain.
Accept this now, LSGAP.” He glared at me.
I snorted, “You just have to get everything. I knew it was dangerous that you hadn’t leveled up in status in SO VERY long.
Did I not tell you that, Lucas? I said it was a coming, and BOY was it a doozy.
” Lucas sighed, “You did.” Lacy agreed, “You were worried it about most recently too.” Yes, I focused on that instead of MelAshley because I felt guilty over her suppressed wolf.
Drake said, “We will need all your knowledge, Dylan. We need all the research your, uhh former pack members did on the legend.” I appreciated no one mentioning they were my parents. Travis’s pups and mine didn’t know that little fact.
I said, “I have actually read it all, so I’ll host classes for you buddy Drake of mine. Us Beta’s must stick together.” Dalton asked, “Why would you read it? None of us thought it was anything more than a legend.”
I sighed, “Alas, the Alpha bloods do not understand my Beta blood. I have a need to know things, and they had information. I was curious and my curiosity HAD to be fed. Plus, I wanted to know what they turned their back on their pack for. Spoiler alert, it wasn’t worth it.
” And their family. Their sons, grandpups, and their best freaking friends.
Travis linked me, “This changes nothing. They are still assholes. They just did some research for us. Sam and Drake wouldn’t have suppressed Melanie’s wolf if they knew she was the white wolf. No one in their right minds would do that. Only evil people would. Our lame ass parents still suck.”
I replied, “Oh, I wholeheartedly agree. They might have been right, but I would’ve loved their crazy legend loving asses until they were proved right, if they had stayed and been parents to you.
I might have let them know their grandpups if I didn’t know they were plotting to hurt them.
They fucked up, and being right about this doesn’t erase that. ” Travis nodded in agreement.
I told the larger group, “Now, let’s go find the happily newly marked couple and ask if my Super Special Fun Sized Fairy Ninja Goddess is right about the magical white fur. Or if I’m right and now our legendary wolf needs a new name: the pink wolf. It would be funny, and you all know it.”
Dalton cracked a smile. I started skipping off to my former Luna and Lacy I smiled, “Pop pop away Emmaline, to the living room of LSGAP. I SHALL not miss this meeting. Plus, they need me.” I whispered, “I know all the things.”
Travis laughed, “I should come too then because I also know the things. I read the research too.” LSGAP asked, “What if JUST Travis came then?” I gasped, “You WOUND me, LSGAP! I SHALL NOT BE KEPT AWAY!”
I linked Emmaline, “Pop fast, before he does something legendary like have a Dragon breathe fire around just me in a circle so I can’t come.” Emmaline giggled and popped away with me, Lucas, Lacy and Travis. Jayden popped in with Finn.
I winked at my son saying, “Now he may be LSGAP, but we have our wit and our resources. Never forget that, son.” Finn chuckled, “I won’t dad.” I clapped, “Now, let’s wait for the happy couple.” Jayden said, “She’s probably sleeping. Melanie did just get marked by an Alpha, and she just shifted.”
Lacy hummed, “As someone who was present for the gathering and reading of some of that research you are wrong.” I snorted, “MelAshley will sleep longer than normal when she goes to bed, but she’s a goddess like wolf so she’ll be fine.”
“They will be here shortly. OHHH THE ANTICIPATION! I just KNEW Melashley would be such fun! I’ve GOT to her to agree to being my adopted daughter. She’s the best new addition to my show.” Finn laughed while I wiggled my eyebrows. This was going to be interesting.
