Chapter Priorities #6
My friend asked with hope in her voice, “Do I really have time to remember my past, while working on the Ring with Vampires?” I could tell she wanted to meet him.
I said, “Hey… the Ring stuff comes second to your happiness. You haven’t told me how old you are… but I do know… because I did the math.”
Kingsley laughed, “Of course you did.” I continued, “The point is…Hastein is older than most Supernatural’s when they meet their mate. I also know… you want to meet your mate and you’ve been waiting a long time for this moment. You know my theory about your memories.”
Kingsley smiled broadly agreeing, “I do. Ok, you can tell him I’m at the wedding. If he’s my mate, he’ll come find me.” I clapped, “YAY!” I knew it was him; I could feel it. Kingsley said, “If anything I get to meet the Crown Prince of the Hackura.”
I rolled my eyes, “He’s your mate… your reaction bumps my probability up to ninety-nine percent… even with my bias of wanting to be right… but all that makes you Queen Kingsley.” She snorted, “We will see.”
Kingsley used her phone, clearly texting Dirsha to come out.
My friend gave Dirsha a key and said, “This is my safe place that no one has the address of. I changed the code to your name. Get your clarity and find your happiness. We will help you if you reject that sad excuse of a mate.” Dirsha smiled sincerely saying, “Thank you both.” She took off.
I asked, “Will she get back safely?” Kingsley answered, “I paid a few people to make sure she does.” I nodded. I said, “I’m sure Xander will pop us to my place in Nashville. The portal is nearby for Black Mountain. You’re welcome to stay at our house with us, but I don’t get the sense you want to.”
Kingsley laughed, “I’m not as positive he will take us to Nashville.
I’ll be off radar since I’m heading to Missouri, so I won’t stay at your house.
I do love that you referred to it that way though.
” Xander would take us to Nashville if I asked.
Freya snorted, “There is literally no chance of that happening.” Uhh…
yes there was. It’s not like I was staying there.
We walked over to Xander and explained what I wanted.
My wolf and friend were right. He was not ok with Nashville…
which was odd… I had friends there and it was good now.
My mate quickly offered a safe place he had in Black Mountain territory instead.
Freya purred, “He is great.” He was so dreamy and perfect.
Xander popped us to our territory while smiling at me. Kingsley declared, “I have questions for you, Xander boy.” Xander smiled saying, “Alright.” Kingsley questioned, “Did you even THINK about rejecting my girl?”
Xander answered without hesitating and a hint of a growl, “No.” Kingsley snorted, “Can I kill your brother now, Mel?” I sighed, “So… no… and both are alive. Everything was an illusion, spell, and lie. My family is not dead, and my brother doesn’t hate me, I wasn’t banished, and I have a wolf.”
Kingsley gasped, “Shut the fuck up!” I shifted into Freya, then shifted back. Kingsley shouted, “YOU ARE THE WHITE WOLF?!” I was in her note… so we did have that to discuss. I nodded. Freya told me, “I communicated with Kayda that she accomplished that part of her letter without knowing.” True.
Kingsley whistled and looked at Xander. My friend asked him, “You’ll protect her, right? I am quite fond of her.” Xander hugged me answering, “As am I. There is nothing that will stop me from protecting my Lovebug. She is my soul mate.”
Kingsley sighed, “Well, this is just a lot to unpack. Are you ok, Mel?” I shrugged, “Mostly… it’s a whole lot of complicated… so... you get it.” Me being the white wolf was actually a lot more for her to unpack than anyone else. Kingsley raised an eyebrow.
Xander admitted, “It’s killing me that I can’t figure it out. What are you?” I bit my lip. Kingsley laughed, “I don’t tend to tell people. You’re a partial Fairy so figure it out.” Fairies actually were among the only group that believed Dragons still existed.
Xander laughed, “I’ll try.” Kingsley warned, “Don’t hurt Mel, ever.
” Xander sobered immediately vowing, “I’d never hurt her.
” Kingsley raised an eyebrow replying, “I hope that’s true.
I’ve seen enough mates hurt each other. I’d like to believe what I’ve learned about you, and your family is true.
Mel deserves that happiness in her life. ”
My friend turned to face me asking, “Can I roast the wannabe lying Trevor now?” Xander snarled which made Kingsley snort. I said, “He’s in the Hackura realm… so… that’s… a situation.” Not a hard one for her to solve… but still a situation.
Kingsley smirked, “Ah well, I might just have to find my way there.” Xander offered, “I could take you since you can’t exactly find your way there.” I laughed now, because I knew Hastein would take Kingsley there if she asked. He’d probably do a heck of a lot to show his mate their realm actually.
Xander linked me, “Can she get in the Hackura realm?” I answered, “Easier than you think she could… yes. Can she open a portal there? No… not at this moment.” Xander raised an eyebrow at me. Kingsley asked, “What about your wannabe mate’s daddy dearest? Can I roast him?”
Xander ground out, “Booker is hiding. We think he might be in Missouri though.” Kingsley’s eyes lit up as she asked, “Is he now? Well, how interesting.” Booker had never met Kingsley, but she knew who he was. If he was in Missouri… she’d kill him.
Xander said, “Yes, that’s what we think. This encounter has certainly been interesting.” Kingsley smiled agreeing, “It has been.” Xander commented, “I Like your hair, it’s very unique.” Kingsley laughed, “I was born this way.” He tilted his head questioning, “Really?” Kingsley nodded.
My mate laughed, “My sister will be jealous. Cass went through a phase where she dyed the bottom of her hair different colors.” Kingsley smiled because she knew that. It was in the folder about Cassie I had and Kingsley had read a good portion of the folders.
I gave her a hug urging, “Call me if you need anything.” Xander snapped before saying, “The kitchen is fully stocked.” Kingsley chuckled, “How handy. Thank you for the place to stay Mr. Melanie’s Xander. I’ll see you both tomorrow.” She winked at me and Xander popped us to his treehouse.
I snorted, “Are we avoiding the crowd that is definitely waiting… for us…. or me? It’s definitely me.” Xander nodded emphatically stating, “Yes, because we are getting married tomorrow and we need sleep. Mostly you.”
I smiled, “I know we are getting married…and I’m calm about it…
fine even.” Freya snorted, “Dear lord, human of mine you are so funny.” Well…
it was only the culmination of my dream to be with him…
I was totally chill about that… and that definitely meant I was not getting much sleep… but that was fine.
Xander asked, “What were you guys doing with a bunch of Demons?” I sighed, “My heart actually breaks for that woman you saw come out at the end. Kingsley was standing up for her. Dirsha had a crappy mate … who had a change of heart I guess.”
“Or he did after her ex showed up and he realized she was desirable to others. Honestly, I plan to off him…. I just want Dirsha to make her choice about him first. He did awful things to her and then tried to forcibly mark her.”
Xander frowned asking, “What horrible things?” I explained, “He made her reject him then take it back because of the pain he felt. He said he wanted her sister… who is her freaking twin, in front of her. He cheated and said it was because he was drunk, and the girl was blonde… like her.”
“Then he got to her siblings, and she was trying with him again…BUT he took two other women’s side about a fight without asking her what her side was. Oh! I forgot he told her she couldn’t tell anyone they were mates.”
“He later shouted about it so loud he announced it. His parents and her family forced her to move in then some ex of hers came around and her own mate tried to forcibly mark her. So, Kingsley gave her a place to stay and slammed them all for their actions.”
Xander growled, “We should’ve brought her back with us.
My family would help her. I know she’s a partial Demon, but we would still get her a place to stay.
Uncle Bjourn would contact Iblis about her.
” I told him, “It’s up to her. Dirsha knows we will help her.
I think she wants to see if her mate can change. ”
I admitted, “I understand how she feels… but I don’t know how she was standing. I nearly crumbled… and did a few times actually…. thinking about you rejecting me.” Xander snarled and yanked me against him.
My mate vowed, “That would never happen. EVER. There is no reality where I’d consider it.
” I kissed his cheek. I told him, “Anyway…I hope Dirsha knows that she deserves better than some jerk who would say any of that. I just don’t know how you don’t wonder forever if he’d rather have your twin because she’s not as strong willed. ”
Xander snorted, “I can’t imagine living that way.
That has to be hard. I can’t imagine you wanting EJ and I couldn’t comprehend you ever saying it.
The feelings that would put between my brother and I are immense.
That’s a dick move on his part to say and to put that on the twins.
That hurts their both bonds, mate and twin. That’s so wrong.”
I told him, “I’ve always wanted you and saw EJ as a big brother from the moment I met him.” Xander kissed me and pulled back. My mate bit my ear saying, “So I’ve heard.” I laughed. Before I got lost in his eyes, I asked, “So… what happened on your end with the video call?”
Xander growled, “They wanted you.” I startled, “Huh?” That was not at all what I was trying to get at. Xander explained, “They wanted their Underground fighter back. They were supposed to have Cassie, Tenley, and Blaise to bargain with. On that topic, you knew Blaise was Corbin’s.”
