Chapter Priorities #7

I replied, “I mean….technically I was guessing… but I was fairly certain I was right... since I’ve seen them together a lot.” Xander laughed, “Well, we figured out Cassie wasn’t going to them because you stole her phone.” I bit my lip, “I should give that back.”

Xander snorted, “My sister probably conjured it to herself. Cassie’s Guard told us you stole her phone.

” Darn. I’d forgotten her Guard was around her right now.

Xander growled, “Then you burst in the room. I was worried you were alone, until Kingsley very gracefully repelled in.” I mean… glided…but ok.

I asked, “What was the reaction to her?” This was the answer I really wanted. Xander acknowledged, “Gabe seemed quite startled. Hastein was unfazed by Gabe's reaction and watched the fight. So did Corbin. I briefly spared Gabe a glance.” My fiancé continued talking as I smiled.

It confirmed it all for me. Hastein didn’t look back because Gabe had moved due to Hastein’s own emotions. I was up to ninety-nine point five percent certain I was right. Xander asked, “What’s that smile about, Lovebug?”

I told him, “A theory.” Xander pressed, “About?” I asked, “Will you keep it between us?” Xander nodded, “Of course. I promise it stays between us.” I kissed him. I pulled back and explained, “I think your cousin is Kingsley’s mate.” Xander was stunned.

Then he shouted, “Son of a bitch! You think it’s Hastein or Gabe, right?” I hummed, “I think it’s Hastein. I believe Gabe was asking questions for his brother.” Xander sighed, “Either one of them will try to get her name from you.”

I smiled, “I know that… but it’s not a problem… I’m going to point Hastein in her direction tomorrow.” Xander kissed me. He pulled back and asked, “Are we done with the questions?” I laughed, “I am… but I figured you have more.”

Xander nibbled my neck, “Ohh, I have questions. One could even say a lot, but I also have other priorities.” I smiled, “Well then… who am I to stop an Alpha Enforcer from getting to his priorities?” My mate bit my neck.

Not hard enough to draw blood, but enough that it sent tingles throughout my body.

I pulled him in closer to me and yanked his shirt off. Xander linked me as he kept kissing, biting, and sucking on my neck. “You’re mine, Melanie McAlister.” I agreed, “I am. You’re mine too, Xander Conners.” He chuckled, “That I am.”

My mate ripped my shirt off which seemed uncalled for. Freya purred, “Totally called for.” Xander popped us into the bedroom and put me on my stomach over his knee. I asked, “Umm… what are you doing?” His hand came down on my bare butt. When did I lose my pants?

Xander answered, “Spanking you. Stop going into fights without me.” He spanked me while playing with my clit. When he was done, he threw me back onto the bed. I told him, “You better be aware that I consider turnabout fair play.”

Xander smirked, “You want to spank me?” I blushed, “Umm… I… was… I mean… it’s fair… and…” Xander jumped on top of me and covered my lips with his. He linked me, “You can spank me anytime, Lovebug.”

I ran my hands up his side taking him by surprise and flipped us. My soon to be husband smirked and put his hands behind his head. I slowly kissed his body and licked his member when I reached it, then sucked on it, taking it into my mouth.

When he started to move his hips with me, I released him and straddled his legs. I slowly sank down onto my mate. Xander’s hands didn’t stay behind his head long. They went right to my hips while I brought us both to completion.

Xander flipped us then kissed me whispering, “My turn.” Eventually he popped us back to our room. I asked, “Are you staying?” Xander snorted, “No one would dare keep me away. I know of the tradition about not seeing the bride.”

“I wasn’t raised to follow that. My dad doesn't even like it because my mom didn’t understand on the day of their wedding.

He was not happy with my aunts and grandma over it, and he told us all human traditions don’t dictate ours and to make our own.

That’s actually one of the few traditions my mother doesn’t give a shit about. In fact, she hates it.”

I knew that. I asked, “Have your parents done a vow renewal?” Xander shook his head answering, “No, they haven’t.” I smiled, “Well… maybe we should throw them a surprise one.” Xander kissed me, “You’re amazing.” I blushed.

I cuddled into Xander and fell asleep but woke up two hours later. I slowly got up, got dressed, then slipped outside. I danced for a little bit. I asked the people around me, “So… are any of you going to come out and introduce yourselves?” Nothing moved.

I sighed, “I know there are four of you. I’ve got a solid guess as to who one of you… no ok… all of you are. So Xander’s Guard… you could at least say hi.” They still didn’t move. I sighed, “In venias. Modo vosmet ipsos introducte. Quaeso (Oh, come on. Just introduce yourselves. Please).”

Slowly three men faded into view. I could sense the fourth, but I didn’t expect Hastein to come forward yet. Freya offered, “It could be Gabe.” I agreed, “It could be… but I’m certain it’s not.” Freya laughed.

I nodded to the Guard I’d met greeting, “Good morning Egres.” Gordon snorted, “I don’t know that I would call this morning.” I frowned pointing out, “It’s not nighttime.” He laughed, “I am Gordon.” I nodded, “I know… I mean… no I don’t.” Hutchins snorted saying, “I’m Hutchins.”

I hummed, “I also know that… for reason… anyway, I know there are usually threats out on Xander…. So, I think at least two of you should be around him during those times…. and not on me… because… well you’re his Guard….not mine.”

Egres laughed, “Ah, well our King seemed to believe you would somehow know about the threats before we did.” I blushed. Gordon said, “I’d also appreciate a heads up on if you’re being shimmered out into a rescue. We are quite handy in those situations.”

I sighed, “That’s… a little complicated… I mean… if I’m going alone… that’s one thing… but if I’m meeting up with people… some people like their anonymity. I’m not opposed to having you open a portal for me…and then fading back…in emergency situations though.”

Hutchins laughed, “I like her.” I blushed. I said, “Ok… well…. as I was saying….to the other….” Sierra yawned, “Mel, for the love of god why? You’re getting married today.” I replied, “I know that.” Sierra rolled her eyes grumbling, “Do you?”

I answered, “Yes…it’s kind of big day for me…

Xander does want me…we aren’t even having a small private Mating Ceremony…

it’s quite literally the one of my dreams.” Sierra huffed, “Do you know that I set an alarm specifically to get out here and tell you to march that happy little ass back to bed?” I answered, “No.”

Sierra demanded, “Go back to bed and lounge around. As you said, this is literally the day of your dreams. So, do some dreaming.” I pointed out, “No one can make themselves dream.” The Guards snorted. Sierra ordered, “Get inside and relax, god damn it.”

I argued, “But I was going to talk to….” Sierra interrupted, “No, go inside. Go see your mate and your pillow.” I said, “Ok, but first I…” Sierra groaned, “No buts! Get upstairs so I can go back to sleep.” I sighed, “Fine.”

I guess I’d find Hastein later. I grumbled, “Well…since I have to apparently…. Really quickly I’ll address the fourth person out here…

you and I need to chat later.” Egres, Hutchins, and Gordon chuckled.

Freya said, “You are so amusing. You just told a future King you want to talk.” I replied, “AH HA! You admit it’s him. ” My wolf chuckled.

I followed Sierra back to my room. I asked, “Did my grandparents… umm on my mom’s side, get the invitation?” Sierra answered, “I personally handed it to them and made them open it. We had words.” I snorted, “Ok. Did Tiffany get her invitation?”

Sierra confirmed, “She did and she will be in attendance today with her mate. Before you ask, your Aunt Allison got your letter and thanked you for considering their trip. Your Aunt and Uncle wanted it noted they would absolutely come back but respect your feelings.” I nodded to my friend before my she pushed me inside my room and closed the door.

I tripped over the edge of the carpet, but Xander popped to catch me. My mate laughed, “What’s going on?” I sighed, “I was just dancing, and Si threw a fit over it.” Xander chuckled, popped us back to bed, and promptly went back to sleep.

My mind was racing a million miles a minute. I linked my friend, “Si.” She didn’t answer, which meant Sierra was asleep again. I smiled and grabbed my computer. I worked out Kingsley’s employment situation and got her a place to stay.

It just so happened that the Vampire King of Missouri’s third in command, who was in the Resistance, needed an assistant. I gave him the perfect one and set up Kingsley’s alias. I closed my laptop and got back up.

I went downstairs and made my way into the kitchen. I decided to make some omelets. I was lost in my tasks and distracted myself. I didn't even hear anyone join me until I heard a throat clear and startled. I instantly whipped around but relaxed when I saw who it was.

I greeted, “Good morning, mom.” She smiled asking, “Can I help you with anything?” I nodded and we started working side by side. Mom was copying what I was doing. Eventually she kissed my forehead. Mom told me, “Go on and take your breakfast to your mate before he gets up.” I smiled agreeing, “Ok.”

I took the plates upstairs and quietly opened the door. I had just sat down on our bed when Xander sat up. My fiancé chuckled, “I see you got up again.” I explained, “I made us breakfast… well, my mom helped…and….” Xander kissed me before saying, “This is very nice.” We ate breakfast together.
