Chapter 10 Not Said in Centuries

Not Said in Centuries

Alexander popped Melanie to his island in the Hackura realm because I wanted some privacy. Even though my cousins had islands close to mine, I knew they wouldn’t mind the noise. If they visited their island and heard us. They might bring their mates around for privacy.

Particularly Gabe and Hastein since they just found theirs. Hastein’s was the closest island to mine. That was one of the great things about this realm though. They didn’t mock people about sex here. They were very open. They might make a joke, but no one took it seriously.

Women weren’t shamed here for having as many partners as they wanted. I envied that mentality as opposed to my home realm. I knew human women and even she wolves felt the notion that they shouldn’t have partners like males do. It seemed absurd to me. Women liked sex too.

So, why was there such difference for males having sex than for women? I liked how this realm saw that. Even on the flip side, I was considered weird by many Alpha’s for not engaging in sex and waiting for my mate. Yet no one batted an eye when women did that.

Oden linked me, “I’m taking a lot of how mate feels right now, but I’ll stop if you don’t get to sexy things before I combust.” What the hell? EJ described the heat feelings in the bond exactly how I feel now. Oden snorted at my internal thoughts.

My wolf told me, “EJ’s mate doesn’t have a goddess for a wolf. Our mate’s heat is more intense. I’ll let you feel it if you don’t initiate things.” I told him, “I do want to feel it eventually, but I’ll get to it because I believe you.”

I apparently didn’t move fast enough because Melanie took over.

The full force of her feelings hit me and I nearly snarled.

Oden told me, “That’s why mate took over.

” Ok, point made. There was no room for foreplay when she was in heat like this.

Got it. I made a mental note so it wouldn’t happen again.

I didn’t deny my wife anything she asked and quickly did as she said. I couldn’t imagine constantly feeling more than a fraction of what Oden had just pushed at me. Not that Melanie talked much other than to scream my name. Eventually, after twenty hours she faded to sleep.

I made sure Melanie really was sleeping before I got up. I went downstairs and made us both food. Oden warned, “She probably won’t eat until this is over.” I sighed and put her food in the fridge. I ate my food quickly and called my brother.

EJ answered, “Merry Christmas, little brother.” I sighed, “Yeah, I guess we are going to miss it.” EJ warned, “Melanie’s friends are really worried about her missing Christmas.” I replied, “Then it’s still her favorite holiday, like it was when she was a pup.”

I knew that it had been her favorite holiday. Dylan had pouted because he’d never gotten to meet his Christmas Kindred Spirit pup. Oden snorted, “We know most things about mate.” That was true. I’d always known Melanie loved Christmas time even before Dylan would pout about not having met her.

Jason said it was the only time my wife ever acted her age. That her excitement about all things Christmas was adorable until it wasn’t. Apparently, Christmas used to be the only day Melanie woke up early. The McAlister’s had a rule you couldn’t open presents until everyone was awake.

Melanie used to wake them all up before the sun rose because she was so excited. I told EJ, “We will celebrate with everyone when we are back.” EJ admitted, “The McAlister’s are waiting for you guys. Even Kai didn’t want to open presents until his Aunt Ladybug was there.”

I chuckled, “That’s sweet of him. He’s a good, pup.” EJ agreed, “That he is. Are you ok?” I was a little surprised by the question. “I’m fine, why?” EJ explained, “The girls said their talk didn’t go well and that they just upset Melanie more.” I’d noticed.

EJ continued, “Dylan jumped in at that point of the conversation talking about how he’d been so quiet after his heroic efforts to save Melanie.

Apparently, emotions are far more heightened for Ladybug when she goes into her heat as the white wolf.

So, the wrong conversation happened at the worst time. ”

I replied, “I don’t even care about that fight anymore.

It was a silly argument.” EJ warned, “Your wife knows about you and Cheyenne.” I asked, “So? Chey’s just a friend.

” EJ snorted, “I am aware of the status of that relationship. Apparently, your mate wants to spit nails at people saying Cheyenne’s from Europe because she’s from Wyoming. ”

I reasoned, “I’m sure they will get along. They are both good fighters.” EJ disagreed, “I’m not so sure about that. Had you asked me prior to my discussion with Elise, I’d have thought they’d be fast friends. I’m not getting that impression though, little brother.”

I snorted, “Melanie and I can talk about it later. I don’t think Cheyenne is coming for a visit anytime soon.” EJ replied, “Chey tends to just show up unannounced.” That was true and it kept me silent for a moment. Oden said, “I’m not sure why mate wouldn’t like her.” I agreed.

EJ added, “Esther McAlister would like everyone to let her talk to Melanie about the whole Charles deal.” I asked, “Fine by me. In fact, I said her, Drake, and T should be the ones to have that conversation. Jase always said Esther had a way of speaking Melanie’s language.

Also, not that I care, but did Charles stop by? ”

EJ answered, “Oddly, no. He sent word that he’d be busy, but that he’d stop by to see Melanie later.” I asked, “What did Arthur say?” EJ snorted, “He smiled and said that we’d find out soon enough. Dad knows whatever it is and he’s greatly relieved.”

I groaned, “I don’t like the sound of that other than dad is relieved.

” EJ replied, “At least Charles isn’t here, and neither is Melanie.

That situation can sit on the shelf for a time.

Charles timeline seems to be different than literally everyone else’s.

” I snorted, “No joke.” We talked a little more then I went back to bed with Melanie.

I opened my nightstand drawer. Hastein had given me ties for the headboard and cuffs as a joke. He’d told me I could use them one day with my Melanie. He’d had them charmed by my Fairy cousins, so they were impossibly strong.

The only way the person in them could get out was if someone undid the cuff. So, why not use them? I quickly set them up and climbed into bed. I woke up to my wolf howling with laughter before I felt pressure on my wrists.

Oden linked, “Mate decided to use the cuffs.” I growled, “FOR FUCKS SAKE, ODEN! Why didn’t you say anything? We can’t get out of them. I can’t even pop.” Oden snickered because he was intent on being obstinate. I was out of my mind by the time Melanie set me free.

If anyone was nearby, they heard us. I was fairly certain when we were in the ocean, I’d seen lights on at Hastein’s place. I couldn’t really focus on it though. My cousin would come find me later if he wanted. We shared a bond and Hastein did what he wanted.

Oden ended up being right. Every night when Melanie fell asleep, she hadn’t eaten all day. I’d tried to get her to eat, but my mate would attack me before I got to the bedroom door. Forget making it all the way down to the kitchen.

Eventually, Oden and Freya wanted time together. Oden linked me, “This can’t end until Freya and I have time together.” I frowned and got ready to link my mated family members that were wolves, or with wolves giving them shit. Seriously, where was my heads up?

Oden explained, “Their mate's heat is different. They don’t have to let their wolves sides out. They can, of course, and probably do. The difference is for them it doesn’t have to happen for their mate’s heat to end.” I let my wolf take control.

I woke up feeling some serious anxiety. I sat up and clutched my chest. Oden told me, “Mate is on a run. Freya told me how distraught mate is that we missed Christmas.” I searched through the bond and wanted to argue those were the wrong words to describe the matter.

I told Oden, “Melanie’s devastated.” Oden sighed, “It was her first real Christmas after being away. Plus, she’s with us know it just makes her feel like she’s not normal.

On top of that, mate will be out of sorts emotion wise until tomorrow so let’s not bring up anything that could upset her. ” That was fine by me.

I took a quick shower and was about to go downstairs when I saw ham sandwiches on the nightstand. I smiled and quickly ate them before popping downstairs. I would give Melanie some time to herself. I knew sometimes you just needed to sort through your feelings by yourself.

I was opening the front door to go jog and find her only to be greeted by Hastein. I snorted, “Hello, cousin.” Hastein smiled commenting. “So, are you giving your mate her horse since you are here?” I admitted, “I’ll tell her, but my plan had been to give her the mare on Christmas.”

Hastein replied, “Fair enough. My mate went to find yours.” I said, “Unless your mate is the Flash, I don’t think she can find my wife.

” Hastein laughed, “K already found Melanie.” I asked, “How on earth is that possible? Is your mate the Flash? I discount nothing as possibilities in our lives anymore.”

Hastein replied, “I hope K tells you, then we can talk about how fucking crazy it is.” I grabbed him and popped to my mate. I could run but I was faster than Hastein now by far. He was crazy competitive, and I didn’t have time for that at the moment. I just wanted to make sure my mate was ok.

I was stunned to find Melanie sobbing inconsolably. I thought she’d work through this, but clearly it had been a mistake leaving her to these feelings. I didn’t think she would still be this upset. I’d have come to her right away.
