Chapter 10 Not Said in Centuries #7
I rolled to the side. Melanie snarled, “NO!” I told her, “It’s fine. I don’t need my Fairy powers.” Exsis said, “Umm… Alexander.” I told him, “I’m really fine.” I felt a slight prick from my watch, realizing my powers were back.
I announced, “My watch administered Laxenread. It must monitor my biometrics.” Oden snorted, “You’re not paying attention to all the fury.” I replied, “I know everyone’s pissed.” Someone’s felt like my own.
Exsis said, “Ok, that’s cool and I want that watch but….” Melanie’s scream of rage cut him off and the sky crackled with thunder and lightning. Exsis continued, “your mate is mad and ummm that’s happening.”
I felt anger bubbling up within me, before I felt it blast around through to all my connections. My eyes widened in shock. I turned and stared at my mate. EJ linked me, “WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT?! What’s wrong, Alexander? It felt like you had to use Laxenread.” Portals opened.
Cayden came running through with his dad. Uncle Bjourn, Hastein, Kingsley, Gabe and Angelique came through next. Gage flew up in wolf form. Oden told me, “Gun is NOT happy with us.” I replied, “It was HARDLY my fault, and it was A GRAZE!”
Grandpa Titus and Grammy Veronica came through a portal next. Mom popped to me. I watched as her eyes widened in disbelief and I felt her shock. I couldn’t think of anything to say. Phil portaled in alone looking pissed off
Melanie’s entire body was glowing now, and her eyes were white. In fact, they almost crackled as if they were bolts of electricity. Hastein asked, “What the shit is happening now?” Melanie screamed and threw her hands out in front of her causing bolts of electricity to shoot from them.
Mom said, “I’m going on the record and saying Melanie got the ability to make it fucking rain from Alexander.” It started to pour. Exsis said, “Ok, sure. That makes sense. Why does Alexander’s mate look like a glow stick?” No one had an answer for that.
Aiylee popped next to Exsis and put both her hands on face and kissed him hard.
Mom asked, “Is no one going to explain what the fuck a glow stick is?” I snorted.
Gage snorted, “Currently? Melanie.” Mom shrugged, “I suppose that does make sense in a way.” Phil added, “It’s exactly what it sounds like. ” Mom nodded her head.
Dad was already on the phone. Mom asked, “Do I need to heal that graze?” Somone muttered something about that. I admitted, “When Laxenread hit my system, I forgot about it.” Mom popped over and healed it quickly.
EJ started using his pushing power, but Melanie snarled at him. Elise put her hands on EJ’s arm. My big brother asked, “Ladybug?” Kingsley chimed in, sounding slightly amused, “I think she wants them to suffer more than their heads exploding.”
Melanie stalked over to a Fairy that was singed from her bolts and had a bloody nose.
She picked the man up and slammed him into a tree.
My wife warned, “I will ask you once…nicely… my version… anyway… How many of you are there? I’m REALLY freaking mad…
and ready to unleash my rage… just imagine how bad that is for you… be creative in your imagination too.”
The man cringed, “There are too many for you to take.” Oden snorted, “That man is not smart. That was the worst thing to say to mate.” Clearly.
Freya and Melanie’s voices combined as they declared, “I’m a goddess.
There is NOTHING and NO ONE that is too much for me to take.
I HAVE A BOX OF RAGE SPANNING ALMOST A DECADE TO RELEASE! TELL ME HOW MANY?!”
I wasn’t alone when I winced. Gage asked, “How is almost seven years close to a decade?” Phil chimed in, “Sierra said it’s over five and past six so that’s closer statistically.” Gage snorted, “Sure, sure.”
Uncle Aiden popped to Aiylee. My cousin instantly asked, “How’s mom?” Uncle Aiden snorted, “Your mom is highly annoyed I went to her instead of coming with you.” Aiylee laughed, “That sounds like mom.”
Uncle Aiden agreed, “Yes, Lucinda is quite capable on her own. Not unlike Exsis. Are you alright, my old friend?” Exsis snorted, “Of course I am. I had already killed three of them when Alexander and his mate popped in. Then she lit up like a glow stick.”
Mom said, “I would like to point out Melanie can’t be a damn glow stick. I used to google and that’s something that you crack, and liquid makes it glow. Melanie’s lit up by electricity, it’s fucking different.” Uncle Aiden whistled while a few people chuckled.
Uncle Aiden asked, “Sister, can you stop making it rain?” Mom told him, “I didn’t make it start.” My Uncle looked at me, but I pointed at Melanie. Uncle Aiden chuckled, “Well, I see. Sister, do something about it.”
Mom nodded and it stopped raining. Melanie growled and the rain started again, harder than it had been. Gage said, “I could’ve mentioned that was a bad call, but that was amusing.” Phil snorted, “Same.” Oden offered, “Me too.”
Mom smirked saying, “I mean we can keep doing that, but Melanie’s really fucking emotional right now. If I make it stop, my daughter in law might bring hail next time. Just let her come back to herself before we stop the rain.” Uncle Aiden shrugged.
Melanie ripped the guy’s vocal cords out and dropped him with severe force. Gage winced, “I heard things breaking from that fall.” The man was clutching his throat as he died. My wife grabbed the woman next to him with her bloody hands. Damn. That was hot.
Melanie snarled, “HOW MANY?!” The woman wisely answered, “Fifty. The Goblins were supposed to be a distraction, but they didn’t last long enough.
We hoped if we took out the mates of the King and Crown Princess they would be devastated.
That was when we could conquer the Earth Territories and work towards the rest from there. ”
Melanie snarled, “So, the fact that the King’s sister is the best healer in all of Faerie’s history didn’t factor into your plan? Or the fact that my mate is the second best? LIAR! You are a LIAR… who THINKS YOU CAN INSULT MY INTELLIGENCE! I AM A GENIUS…. YOU NITWIT!”
Phil warned, “Sierra says when Melanie starts shouting about being a genius, nothing good follows for the people questioning her intelligence.” Gage whispered, “Technically speaking, no one did.” Kingsley snorted, “They did by lying to her and thinking she would accept their lie.”
Angelique giggled, “Plus, they insulted her Xander. IT IS ON SIGHT PEOPLE! Insulting Mel’s Xander and his family? Whew, these people are dead dead. Get the body bags ready. Not all because I’ll be burning bodies, that’s my job.” Kingsley and Angelique smirked at each other.
Mom popped next to Melanie. EJ came over to me commenting, “You appear to be in shock.”
I said, “As our cousin pointed out, my mate looks like a glow stick. LOOK at my wife’s eyes.” Oden offered, “It’s normal for Freya.” Well, it wasn’t to us yet.
EJ said, “Yes, I see that.” Hastein chimed in, “We all see that.” Grandpa Titus asked, “Are you alright, Alexander?” I said, “I felt pain for a few seconds before my watch administered Laxenread to me. Which was really cool. It clearly monitors biometrics.”
Uncle Bjourn said, “That is cool. I need you all to have those.” Kingsley snickered, “They all have them. You’ll just have to remind Melanie she has them.” I cleared my throat, “Plus, it wasn’t my anger you felt go around the bond.” Hastein asked, “Are you serious?”
I answered, “Very serious. Melanie was so angry that it went through my connection with her, then all throughout every single one I have. It wasn’t even that bad of a shot, it was a graze.” Kingsley snorted, “Men.” Angelique said, “Seconded.” I asked, “What?”
Angelique tilted her head before commenting, “K, I think he’s serious.” Kingsley answered, “He is. They all don’t get it.” Hastein said, “Then explain it to us please, Cupcake.” Kingsley sighed, “For starters, you’d be pissed if Mel was bleeding Alexander.”
Ok, that was true. Kingsley continued, “Besides the fact you would have zero chill if Melanie took a graze to the shoulder, your mate has sworn to never see anyone she loves get shot, ever again. You getting shot is like the worst case scenario. I’m sure she flashed back to the night she was kidnapped. ” I winced.
Dad walked over muttering, “Dylan is NEVER going to shut up about missing this. He said in order for Melanie to calm down you need to touch her, son. Or, apparently, she’s going to go off and electrocute trees and the surrounding area. Which Dylan is of course is on board for.” I rolled my eyes.
I popped to Melanie and wrapped my arms around her. I linked my mate, “I’m fine. I barely felt the graze. I didn’t know until I felt the burn in my veins. Laxenread was in my system because of this amazing watch, and my mom healed it.”
Melanie snarled in my head, but the glow dimmed. I kissed her forehead, “Laxenread worked just like you wanted it to. I’m intrigued the watch was monitoring me enough to know that. I’m amazed by your intelligence and what you’ve done with that serum.”
Mom said, “I have the names, brother. Let’s go kick some fucking ass.” Aiden snorted, “Let’s.” Melanie growled, “We are coming too.” Uncle Aiden smiled at her agreeing, “I mean having a mate of my nephew’s lit up like a light bulb can’t hurt. Plus, it’s fun.”
I saw my brother grab my Hackura family. Melanie was still glowing, but not as brightly. My wife’s eyes were still white, but the hint of pale green was there. I popped her back to the party. The guests gasped over her appearance.
Uncle Aiden said, “We already know who you are, but I will give you a chance to kneel now. You betrayed the crown and went against the promised siblings. You allowed Goblins into the realm, you worked with our enemy, the Ring, and you tried to kill the Queen and Future King.” Gasps echoed around the party.
A few kneeled immediately which had Melanie snarling at them. One begged, “Mercy, my King! Please.” Before anyone could say anything bolts shot out of Melanie’s hands. The man fell over dead at my uncle’s feet.
