Never a Dull Moment #3

Elise quickly said, “Cayden, out of all of us you can stop Ladybug.” Cayden said, “Yes, but I won’t.

I’m positive it’s justified.” Valentina said, “This is what Melanie does. She doesn’t really stand for injustices or slights.

Even if you stopped her now, whatever happened to that Luna would be worse later. ”

Olivia added, “That's true. Plus, what that woman said was terrible and horribly inaccurate.” Avery snorted, “Yeah, that dumb woman really had to insult multiple people in the Conners family. Not even our pack did that, and we were a tragedy.” That got several growls from my table.

Luna Lena’s table watched me approach wearily. I grabbed her by the back of the neck and threw her into a wall. Her daughters stood and I punched them both square in the face. Luna Lena shrieked, “You can’t…”

I interrupted, “I’ll stop you right there. I just… freaking did. So don’t tell me I can’t hurt you… you cowardice… backstabbing… whispering… gossiping ladder climbing bulling twit! Your daughter meant nothing to Eric, and all three of you know it.”

“You’ve puffed up your daughters…. with delusions so big…. I’m actually ready to thank any GOD … that even though they are older than your son… he’s the one who will take over. Your pack would be doomed with either of those… nitwit morons at the helm.”

“How DARE you…. speak about my mother in law… that way. I’ve killed people… for far less... and I’m not really sure I’m not going to today. Why can’t ANYONE… ever let me make a good impression?! I’m pretty sure… murder at the Alphas Mate’s Brunch… isn’t the best one to give.”

I turned, “Right, Avery? Or… is it good? They would be scared of me… and I do like that. Logically … they should already be scared… but I warned her… and she didn’t listen.

So… really, it’s her fault.” Avery replied, “It definitely is her fault, but killing her would leave a bad impression. It would make them more scared of you than they already are though.”

Freya snorted, “We could kill her.” I knew that, but it would probably complicate things for Xander…

. and I tried to uncomplicate his life. I waved, “Decisions… decisions. Luna Lena, my mother in law has more class in her pinky toe than you do…. in your entire body. Also she is not just a Fairy, she’s a Hackura.

A fact you might want to remember before… . they kill you.”

I asked, “Why don’t you just tell everyone the truth? You are embarrassed… that your true mate is… an Omega. He died …. and your dad arranged for you to be mated to the Alpha. Your oldest daughter…. is your true mate’s pup.”

“Your husband’s true mate… is an Omega that you belittled and bullied… every single chance you got. All because you felt inferior. Do you miss your scapegoat…. for all your problems? She’s living a better life now… in case you were curious.”

Luna Lena was red in the face. Her oldest daughter asked, “What the hell are you talking about? Our parents are mates.” I corrected, “They are chosen mates. You know the exact Omega I’m talking about too.”

I warned, “Don’t pretend you didn’t notice your mother’s cruelty to one…

specific person. The one person your dad was constantly refusing to stay away from…

. even though your mom asked him to. Instead of blaming your dad…

. like a sane and rational person… your mom blamed the woman who tried to live her life. ”

“The life where she was forced to watch her fated mate be with someone else. Because your father… refused her transfer… multiple times. That Omega had over fifty packs that would’ve taken her in … and your dad refused. All to keep her close… while your mother was cruel to her.”

Luna Lena growled, “You stole our pack member.” I said, “Kudos on not saving face… and practically admitting I was telling the truth. Everyone knows when I lie… so I concede it was a forgone conclusion… that I was telling the truth. I still can’t believe you actually confirmed it though.”

“Also… it’s not stealing when they don’t belong to you. She renounced her ties to your pack. I hear you’ve been in an…. even worse mood since she left. Gosh… it’s hard when your life still sucks and the person you wanted to blame is gone.”

“I guess it was hard… to look in that thing people call a mirror every day… and be forced to take responsibility for your choices and actions. It’s tough.

Normal people do it… and admit when they are wrong…

but that’s not really you. Is it?” Kingsley’s group had rescued that Omega and I went with her.

Several people were whispering about the information I’d revealed.

I asked, “Oh, I’m sorry. Was all that a secret?

Your reaction, and confirmation, kind of…

had me thinking I could be wrong…” I actually cut myself off when I snorted.

Avery sighed, “She can’t even be sarcastic without fudging lying. ” True.

I admitted, “My friend is right. I didn’t think I was wrong. I rarely am. The rest of the room should proceed with… let’s say… caution. I’m not afraid to air anyone’s dirty laundry… and I have it ALL. So… maybe just consider being nice people. Who want… other people to keep all their secrets.”

I shrugged while Freya snickered in my head. I said, “It’s actually… somewhat amazing… that you have the audacity to criticize a woman who led the charge for changes for she wolves to have equal rights in packs.”

I waved, “Then again, your chosen mate is a sexist jerk… and you’re just a bitter old woman who hates fated mates… all because your husband couldn’t fully give up his. I hear that he’s…. still looking for her.”

I whispered, “He won’t find her.” Kingsley’s group ensured that. I continued at a regular volume, “You should pass that along. Since she’s always a topic between you two. That woman deserves her new life. She suffered enough… at the hands of you, and your awful husband. Don’t you think?”

Sierra linked me, “I’m hearing things via link about your brunch. Are you really goading Luna Lena into a fight?” I replied, “Yes, I am… and it’s going really well… in case you were curious. She’s even going to throw the first punch.”

Sierra replied, “I heard you threw her into a wall and punched both her daughters.” I answered, “Well… that’s true…

..but I haven’t hit her yet. I think I deserve a medal for that.

Also… she’s not dead… nor is her back broken…

it’s all great restraint on my part… maybe even personal growth. ” Freya snickered again.

I continued out loud, “Everyone in this room knows my mother in law, is over one hundred times the woman any of you will ever be. You’re jealous of her, so you feel the need to cut her down instead of cheering on another woman and her accomplishments.”

“It’s sad…. really. Women should be each other’s allies.

Instead, we are raised in societies that pit us against each other.

It’s a psychological game…. played against us…

. and it’s just maddening that we lose so much.

Elise is an amazing leader and Luna. I will cut out the tongue of the next person who says otherwise. ”

I told the room, “Every time we can’t get out of our own way….as women…. to acknowledge we don’t have to be friends to support each other… and admit where someone has helped… we lose. Of course, you don’t understand that though… you’re basically men’s peons at this point.”

“You’d rather be spiteful and hateful… because you hate how your life went. You were held back and you hate that you’re not the champion… so you help men perpetuate their hatred for women. You’re jealous of how much Eric and Haley love each other.”

I got in Luna Lena’s face and growled, “Because he does love her… and it’s not out of obligation. Her light was accepted by him… which means he loves her with his whole soul. Fairies can’t just share their light, the other person accepts it… even if they don’t realize it.”

“Why do you think the Ring didn’t send a Fairy to share their light with a Conners or Lyons pup? Because… it wouldn’t work… even if the person they sent was in love with any of them and wanted to share their light. Educate yourself on Fairies….you dolt.”

“My in laws pups are powerful… .and I’ll warn you here and now…. if you ever disparage my mate again, or his siblings, I’ll kill you… in a way that will make you wish I had done so here and now. I do NOT take insults to Xander well.”

“Never insult my sisters in law. Elise is a better leader than you will…. ever be. She is kind and caring. She a true Luna…. who doesn't take out her personal problems on innocent pack members… who have done nothing to deserve it. Something you cannot say.”

Luna Lena charged me, and I couldn’t hide my smile. Freya linked, “I mean you exposed her in front of all her friends. You knew she was going to attack.” I replied, “They aren’t really her friends… that’s the sad part.”

Freya admitted, “That is sad.” I pointed out, “None of these women trust each other. They complain about other women together, but that doesn’t make them friends. They are all lonely and bitter with no one to trust.” Freya agreed, “That is very true.”

I slammed Luna Lena into the ground. The Luna growled, “Alpha Eric deserves better than that Fairy, and we all think so.” I snorted, “Then you’re all dumb… and your intelligence is lower than I estimated. Again I repeat… she’s not just a Fairy.”

“Haley is the Princess of the Fae AND the Hackura. Who definitely heard you say that… and I would bet your death will be announced imminently… though you’ll probably still be alive. The fact remains… that no she wolf could offer Eric what my mother in law does through blood alone.”
