The Enforcers #5
EJ grinned saying, “I’ll have to repeat it to our family, but Elise is coming.” Melanie nodded and Elise walked in and went straight over to EJ. Uncle Aiden asked, “What did you find Melanie?” Melanie answered, “I know why the Ring is coming after Alexander so hard and have been his whole life.”
I asked, “What?” Melanie continued, “I even know why they used Arion for their plan to kidnap Haley. I know why Megan’s Coven keeps getting attacked more than others…. and I know why the Ring let Ezra take his revenge on my family by using me.” Uncle Aiden frowned.
My Fairy Uncle reasoned, “Fabian used Arion.” Melanie said, “Yes, because someone encouraged him to. Probably the same someone who had Fabian make the deal with Damon for Haley in the first place. Or not to let it go once it was discovered…. she was not only Faerie’s Princess but the Hackura.”
“Not to mention Eric’s mate. Taking Haley was suicide…. and Damon had to know that. Someone convinced him to do it anyway. Obviously taking Haley was the goal, but I think the true goal was to make sure Arion died because he was the Enforcer.”
Haley asked, “Why the fuck would they do that?” Melanie answered, “The Enforcer can be missing from the prophecy, and it can still be fulfilled. Without the Enforcer the two remaining siblings are vulnerable though.”
“The Enforcer is obviously a weapon for the older sibling that is the strongest and most powerful sibling; however, they are also the balance for the pure of heart sibling. Or… as I just discovered, just the Truth Seeker.”
“The Enforcer is supposed to keep the pure of heart sibling on track. It can turn the pure of heart sibling towards the side of evil if the Enforcer is gone. The pure of heart Fairy gives birth to three children that continue the line of the strongest powers. Specifically to the Enforcer, and the Truth Seeker.”
“The Enforcer with the potential to turn the Truth Seeker evil continues through the Truth Seeker. Once the Truth Seeker was born to the pure of heart Fairy… the window and hope to turn Haley evil past. Then the Ring just wanted Haley for her powers.”
“They turned their attention to Alexander because of Cassie. They wanted to turn Cassie evil. Cassie is in danger until we know which one of her children is the Truth Seeker. Then it will be the Enforcer that is in the most danger. The Ring…. are trying to turn one of the promised siblings family members to the side of evil.”
Melanie took a deep breath before continuing, “If the Ring can accomplish that, they will fracture the promised siblings family because they try to save the member that has gone to the side of evil. I don’t think they fully researched it though.”
Mom asked, “Why?” Melanie answered, “Because if the Enforcer dies, they gain more powers to protect their siblings from the Beyond. They have powers their earthly bodies don’t. Obviously…. the best prize for them would’ve been Haley going evil.”
“I think that was their plan in isolating you in Faerie, Haley. The O’Toole’s knew you were part of the promised siblings…. and they started the hatred for partial Fairies so that once you were there; you’d be hated and abused.”
“The O’Toole’s…. and the Ring… wanted you to be angry. They probably wanted to offer you the chance at some point to get back at everyone. I think they were going to give you the tools and a chance for revenge on everyone.”
“They never got around to it because you fled… which is probably why they looked for you even though no one heard a whisper of where you were… and that felt like it should’ve been a hint…
but ya know. I mean they didn’t know… you were in the Hackura realm…
but still. It feels like they should’ve at least speculated… that’s where you were.”
Cayden cleared his throat, “You’re saying the Ring is trying to turn my wife evil.” Melanie answered, “Yes, they just want to capture her right now. They want to kill my mate… all so they have the chance of Cassie turning to their side. That will continue with your pups… I’m sorry.”
My wife handed us all copies of the pages she found. Sierra came in with different pages and highlighted passages. I looked over at my little sister and fury filled me. I linked EJ, “They are not going to get to Cass through me.”
EJ agreed, “No, they won’t because nothing is going to happen to you. Melanie has a plan, Alexander. I literally see her thinking about it, and I just feel deep in my bones we are NOT prepared for whatever it is.” Oden snorted, “I agree.”
I acknowledged, “I know that. I can feel my wife in the bond, brother.” Cassie shot sunlight at a vase. My sister asked, “So, they are waiting to hear if my daughter is the Truth Seeker before they stop coming at Alexander? Then they will start coming at my children, then my grandchildren.”
Melanie winced and answered, “Yes… but it would be Nickolas they were coming at… if your daughter is the Truth Seeker.” I said, “Then we don’t tell anyone what my niece can do, Cass. I can handle the Ring coming at me. We will protect our nieces and nephews.”
Cayden locked eyes with me. I said, “Melanie can make sure that no one gets the information. You can put up blocks or whatever you call them, right Lovebug?” Melanie replied, “Uhh… Yes… and maybe… just maybe… I already did… if anyone talks about Cayden and Cassie’s pups in electronic form; I’ll know…
. and so will Gunner.” I smirked because she still squeaked when she said my uncle’s name.
Cayden relaxed a little while Uncle Aiden felt extreme sorrow along my mother.
I noted mom was looking for something in those pages.
I asked, “Mom, what are you looking for?” Mom whispered, “I’m looking for information.
I want to know if I would’ve turned evil if I had killed Arion before I had you guys. ”
Melanie answered, “You wouldn’t have killed him… no matter what… without your pups. I don’t think the Ring leaders thought you would kill Arion. They wanted your Hackura family, or Eric, to kill him… which they couldn’t have done.” Huh?
Melanie continued, “Or the Ring wanted to push Arion into betraying Aiden so badly that Aiden himself had to kill him because, well…. if you see the second set of papers Sierra handed out if Aiden had killed him…. he would’ve lost a piece of himself.”
Haley hissed, “But not fucking me… nooooo… I can kill him and be fine.” Melanie quickly said, “That’s not true.
You weren’t fine afterwards. I’d actually venture to say…
. you’re still not. You couldn’t have killed Arion if not for your pups.
You acted as a mother protecting your young… it’s very common.”
“In fact… only your pups, Eric, and your Hackura family would’ve been who you could’ve hurt Arion for. He was dead as soon as your… umm... well… Alania convinced him to partake in your kidnapping. I just think, given this information, it was more about Arion dying than you.”
“Obviously, if the Ring could set up Arion’s death and still have Haley in their clutches, in their minds, it would’ve been easier to turn her evil. I doubt Fabian shared the knowledge that Haley would likely give birth to the Truth Seeker.”
“Plus, even if they knew… until Cassie was born, there was no way to know if it was her or not. They probably would’ve taken her at birth if they still had Haley. Which… I still cannot overstate how crazy that is… knowing the Hackura are coming.”
Cayden hit the wall, which had Melanie jumping a little into me.
Dad surmised, “So, the Ring is going to keep coming for Alexander.” Melanie answered, “I mean… they’re trying.
You’ve killed a bunch of them… so has his Guard…
and so have me and my friends. Well…. a lot were me…
it was…ok… a lot of me… sometimes my friends…
that’s a thing.” Oden snorted, “Barely ever according to Freya.” I wasn’t shocked by that.
Cassie questioned, “The Ring is coming at my brother because of some damn passage in a book? Do they have no logical thought process? I have Cayden and our children. I’m not leaving them or turning evil. If some wretched bastards hurt my brother, I’d just kill them not turn evil!”
I said, “The Ring won’t get the option to try to turn you evil, Cass. I’m not dying at their hands. Uncle Arion didn’t even die at their hands.” Melanie agreed, “That’s true. Technically speaking… The Ring messed up. They turned Arion to the side of evil using good intentions on his end.”
Melanie continued, “The books say nothing about the Enforcer turning evil. They shouldn’t have used Arion…. like that, if they wanted Haley to be evil. Honestly, if they were thinking logically, they should’ve had Fabian try… to kill Arion.”
Mom admitted, “He did try. I had Masium save Arion.” Melanie said, “That probably wasn’t the Ring’s plan though.
Fabian just wanted to see you suffer…. because his plan failed and he was going to die.
Fabian was never more powerful than Arion, but he would’ve been the best person to kill him…
well logically. Since… he couldn’t have… .no matter what.” Again, what?
Uncle Aiden scoffed, “That’s not true. Fabian could’ve killed either of us.
” Melanie argued, “No, Fabian couldn’t have killed you.
Nor would the Ring have wanted him to.” Mom said, “They wanted me to kill Aiden. Right? Their whole fucking plan was to turn me evil and have me kill everyfuckingone for them.”
Melanie hummed, “Maybe. The Ring… definitely wanted you to be evil and take Aiden’s power for sure. One of them might want to kill him… but it wouldn’t work. I’m sure there’s an O’Toole family member that thought they would be the strongest promised siblings.”
Melanie added, “Or one that is jealous because…. Aiden is more powerful than they are. From what I know of them from Charles, they are pretty stuck on themselves…. to the detriment… of literal the race of Fairies… when you think about it.”
