Chapter Thirty-Seven #2
It doesn’t take long for us to get to Willikai Headquarters.
It’s not directly on the Strip of Vegas but it is fairly close to it.
It’s a big white building with crystal blue windows with multiple styles of cars decorating the property.
They look really expensive too. The customers vary from commoners to people who look like they sit on mountains of money for a living.
Wraith and the rest of the gang park their motorcycles and Halah whistles as she takes all of this in, her helmet already off.
“Impressive work.” She comments under her breath.
“Tell me about it.” Aziz adds.
We all head toward the entrance of Willikai Headquarters when we’re stopped by security.
“This is a private event, what are your names?” the big guy asks.
“Private event?” Guildford asks, looking around.
The guard nods. “Showcase of the new Willikai sports cars to come out and more.”
“But if it’s a showcase then shouldn’t it be open the public?” Frani asks.
“Not yet, now names or get the fuck on!”
“Look we’re not going to waste any time doing this right now.” Guildford says. “We’re not going to be on whatever list you’ve got, we do however, have some connections to the owner of not only this place but the cars as well.”
The guard doesn’t budge, he just stares at us. I can tell he’s not buying what Guildford is saying even though it is true.
“Look just tell Easton Willikai that a friend of Ghostin is here to see him.” Guildford continues.
The guard grunts before going to his coworker to say something in his ear. The other guard nods before pulling out a walkie-talkie and saying something in it. The guard Guildford was talking to approaches us again.
“Just wait here for a moment while we sort some things out.” He instructs us.
We nod and just look around.
“Ooh-wee if I were into cars I know I’d be driving that purple one right there.” Aziz comments.
I look at the car he’s referring to and my jaw drops.
It’s unlike any other car I’ve seen on the streets, races, or anywhere for that matter.
Everything about the car is unique from its asymmetrical body shape, expensive looking wheels, and the design on the windows.
The color scheme consists of a deep, neon purple, teal, and a light lavender.
It’s almost as if a little boy’s toy car has been brought to life.
“Hell yeah man!” Fritzi says. “But I love my bike too much to give it up.”
A small smirk lifts my lips at that. I then notice that someone is in the car. It looks like a woman and she revs the engine, causing purple flames to exit the exhaust. Both Fritzi and Aziz cheer. Guildford smiles at them as he slowly shakes his head.
“Like father like son.” He mutters.
“Tell me about it.” Halah remarks.
The security guard is on his way toward us when glass shatters and people begin to scream and get low to the ground.
Looking at the building I see that a window is now missing, the shattered glass falling to the ground as if in slow motion.
The walkie talkies of the security guards that patrol the show go off with many of them using it to speak into at the same time before a loud, ear-splitting sound exits its speakers.
Gunshots fire, hitting the glass of the building, cars, and I’m sure people.
“What the hell is going on?” Guildford asks.
“Like I fucking know!” Wraith growls.
More gunshots are fired and some car alarms go off.
“Guildford Nacar.” Jamies voice sounds. “You didn’t think it was that easy to get away from me did you?”
My blood boils at the sound of this assholes voice and the memories of what he did to me.
My mouth dries at the memory a sense of distaste coming over me.
I bet he still has my bite marks around his private area but that’s not enough, not for me.
Wraith crouches down behind an balloon arch meant for a photo op.
I crotch down and make my way to him. I see his gun in the waist band of his pants.
He reaches for it and cocks it, holding it like he’s a secret assassin. I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t hot.
“I know you’re here Guildford, so let’s just make this easier on us both. Come out and we’ll have a better, more mature discussion.”
“I thought he wasn’t supposed to be in Vegas.” I whisper to Wraith.
“Me too.” He says.
“So, what is he doing here?” I ask.
Wraith shrugs. “I don’t know, and I don’t give a shit.”
He peeps around the corner and looks around.
“I don’t see him, can you?”
I peep around the corner and see multiple damaged cars, people running, people injured, and some people that look dead, but I don’t see Jamie.
“No, I don’t.” I respond.
“Shit!” Wraith curses.
From my side view I see Halah quickly stand up from her hiding spot and aim her gun at someone. She shoots a couple shots before crouching back down.
“Chill Pepper, what are you doing?” Wraith asks.
I frown and look at him. He’s looking directly at Halah. Is she supposed to be Chill Pepper? Who is Chill Pepper?
“Fuck, it looks like he’s got more guards.” She curses.
“What? You see him?” Wraith asks.
“He’s across the street, but I did manage to hit three guards.” Halah replies.
“How many guards did you see?” I ask.
Halah thinks for a moment before shrugging. “I can’t say for sure with innocents in the way.”
“Fuck!” Wraith says under his breath.
He raises up to look across the street when a huge explosion fires right next to us.
We all go flying in the air. When I land my lungs are on fire, feeling as though they’ve been squeezed harshly by an elephants trunk.
I gasp in a big gulp of air and fire radiates down my windpipe.
My vision is blurry when I see a figure hover over me, my ears ringing.
“Grey Eyes, you alright?”
His voice is muffled and with most of my senses malfunctioning at the moment I feel claustrophobic in my own body.
Through my blurred vision I see his hand reach out for me.
I take it and I’m hauled up to my feet. I shake my head and my vision slowly comes back to me.
I feel his big soft palms grasp my cheeks and force me to look at him.
His eyes scan my face before scanning my body, analyzing me, making sure I’m not seriously injured.
“He’s good, he’s good.” He says. “You okay baby?”
I swallow before nodding. He gives me a quick pec on the lips before grabbing my hand and running to the building.
“Where are we going?” I ask.
“Dad got ahold of Easton.” Wraith replies.
We enter the building and I abruptly stop, my hand slipping from his. Woah... this building interior screams trillionaire.
“You okay, do you need a minute?” Wraith asks, looking at me with concern in his eyes.
“Yeah, no, I’m fine.” I nod, subconsciously reaching for his hand again.
Wraith takes ahold of my hand and we rush up glass stairs, down a hall, pass multiple doors, until we get to a giant door with a huge safe lock on it.
The rest of the gang stands here as well including a man I’ve never seen before which I’m assuming is Easton Willikai.
He’s busy unlocking the door while also looking at his phone.
“Shit, we got to move, my security guards are already fighting him.” Easton says.
The door finally unlocks and we all enter the dark room. The lights illuminate the room as we enter so it’s not dark for long.
“Over there are the controls for the machine guns I have hooked up around the building.” Easton points to one of the bajillion computer screens in here. “Someone get on and fire them if you need to.”
“You have machine guns hooked up to your building?” Fritzi asks.
“Of course I do.” Easton says. “I’m one of the richest and most successful men alive, started from the hood with thirty-seven cents to my name, now I’m here. I’d be crazy not to.”
“Sweet!” Fritzi says, walking over to the computer screen Easton pointed to.
He lights up the screen and they display what the security cameras see outside the building.
“Shit, the police are here.” Fritzi informs us. “...But it looks like Jamies men are killing them.”
“Gosh, I feel like I’m in a fucking superhero movie.” Frani mutters. “And that’s not a fucking compliment.”
Easton walks to a computer screen and brings it to life. His company’s emblem pops up, slowly showcasing itself on the screen but that quickly disappears as he does some extreme typing on the computer.
“So, I never got to the chance to ask because of what’s going on outside and needing to get you guys up here as quickly as possible.” Easton begins. “How’s Justin, I haven’t talked to him in about two to three weeks.”
The air in the room immediately shifts. When no one responds to Easton he turns in his seat and looks at us with a smile on his face. But one look at our faces makes his nearly match us.
“What?” he asks.
“Uh...” Halah starts. “Th-the man outside shooting at your beautiful building is the cause of Justins... death.”
“He died to today, helping to save me.” I whisper, feeling guilty about his death.
Easton looks at me.
“I’m sorry and who are you?” He asks.
“My boyfriend.” Wraith speaks up for me.
I can tell by the base in his tone that he would be ready to fight Easton if it so calls for it. I grasp Wraith’s arm and squeeze.
“I’m not trying to be rude.” Easton clarifies. “I just never met him.”
“His name is Harshal.” Frani informs him.
“Nice to meet you, Harshal.” Easton smiles. “And don’t feel like it’s your fault Justin is dead.”
Tears fill my eyes, threatening to fall.
“If there was any preferred way for him to die it’s by saving someone no matter how quiet, weird, dark, or transparent he was... he was a good fucking man, deserved his happily ever after and the whole world. It’s too bad he didn’t find a woman to bless him with children before he died though.”
I give a faint, weak smile in response.
“Can I ask you a favor?” Easton asks.
I nod.
He turns and reaches underneath the desk the computers sit on. He pulls out a gun that looks like it’s made of pure gold and hands it to me.
“Make sure you honor my friend’s death by bringing death to that man out there.” He says. “But only after you’ve nearly beat him to a pulp of course.”
I take the gun and nod.
“You got it.” I rasp.
“Alright now let’s see what we can do to weaken this son of a bitch.” Easton turns back to face the computer screens.
As Easton does his thing on his computer Fritzi and I watch Jamie and his men fight the police officers on the security cams. Wait... those aren’t all police officers.
“Can you zoom in right there?” I ask, pointing at the screen.
Fritzi does as I ask and he curses under his breath. There are other men out there fighting Jamie and his men but Jamie is beating them all. But how?
“Who are they?” I ask.
“They look like another mafia family.” Fritzi says.
“What?” Guildford asks.
He waltzes towards us and looks at the screen and so does Frani. She has her arms crossed over her chest as she looks at the computer.
“I mean it’s not surprising the motherfucker shouldn’t be here in Vegas in the first place, remember?” she shrugs. “Word has gotten around that he’s here so now they all want to have their shot at killing him.”
“Killing him is my Angels job.” Wraith interrupts.
I look at him and see he has a device wrapped around his forearm like a watch.
“What is that?” I ask.
“Jamie is in an electric car, that device can hack into the cars system and control it like a toy remote control car.” Easton explains.
“How do you know this?” Guildford asks.
“I should know because he’s driving—”
“A Willikai vehicle.” Fritzi says, staring at the computer screen that’s zoomed in on Jamie’s vehicle.
Low and behold I see the emblem of Easton Willikai’s car company clear as day.
“Fuck yeah.” Guildford says.
“Now he’s in the palm of your hands for the most part.” Easton smiles, standing from his seat. “It pays to have a college degree and money beyond the imagination.”
Apparently.
“Just make sure he doesn’t leave that car.” Easton says. “If he does then...”
He shrugs before continuing,
“You’re back on your own.”
Guildford turns to face Easton.
“Thank you.” Guildford says. “We owe you.”
Easton shakes his head.
“No, you don’t.” he says. “Just give my friend the kind of justice this country is too afraid to give its victims and we’ll be good.”
“Are you sure?” Guildford asks.
Easton nods. “Positive.”
“Okay, let’s go kill this son of a bitch!” Wraith says.
He looks at me.
“You ready?”
I take a deep breath before nodding.
“I’m ready.”
“Let’s go then.”
We all begin to file out of the room when Easton calls my name. I turn to look at him, his gun in my hand.
“And keep the gun kid.” He tells me.
I look down at it then back to him.
“Think of it as a congratulatory gift for becoming part of their family.” He says. “And capturing your loves heart.”
I chuckle on the inside. If only this man knew the things Wraith did to get me. It’s anything but sweet but who the fuck said I’d like a sweet romantic interest? I like my guy as he is, dark, serious, sexy, and much more. He’s mine and will always be mine and I him.
“Thank you.” I say before catching up to the gang.
“Looks like we got a new fuck toy to fuck you with.” Wraith whispers in my ear.
“Oh, shut up!” I lightly punch him in the chest.
“Fuck do that again, it turns me on.” He smiles.
I walk ahead of him and flip him off.
“That’s cold My Angel!” I hear him call after me.
