Violet POV
The wedding went by as smooth as butter. The sun was starting to set when all hell broke loose.
"Alpha alpha alpha, calm down, we are your guests here, you are supposed to treat us with the utmost respect and you should just listen to what I say, it is not wrong." A man's mocking voice said.
I pushed past people to see what all the commotion was about.
Ian stood in the center of the crowd, with another young alpha in front of him.
The other alpha had dirty blonde hair with deep dimples.
He was cute but also stupid. He was getting Ian angry, and it was careless to get another alpha angry on their land.
"Who is that?" I asked Alana, sneaking up behind her.
"That's Stephan, before he was alpha of red sky pack, he was my childhood best friend, a real boy, as you can see."
"Why is he getting on Ian like that?"
"Well let's just say, your mate's rejection just got out..and Stephan likes to make a big deal of small situations not that your situation is small it's just that he is a real trouble maker. Cocky one at that. He is going to start a fight. But I am going to stop them."
With that, Alana walked forward into the center of the argument. She stopped to face Stephan," Steph what are you doing! Can you just get along for one day?"
"Sorry Al but someone needs to teach the northern wolves some manners did you hear what he did to his mate, he chose another over her."
Collective gasps were heard through the crowd.
Members of both packs, shudders of disgust.
Ian's pack was stunned not believing what this border pack Alpha just said.
"Why are you so worried about my life Stephan." Ian gritted through his teeth.
"You made me want to ruin your life from the time you killed members from my pack in cold blood," Stephan growled back.
Just as Stephan took an intimidating step forward, he stopped, his eyes glazing over. Before he took a step back. Turning to his pack he spoke.
"We are under attack back home by rogues, they are coming in all directions, they need us back right now."
With that he turned into his wolf, nodding at Ian before he took off running, his whole pack behind him.
I don't know what made me turn towards Alana but thankfully I did, it looks like her knees were going to give up, I rushed towards her catching her in mid-fall," Alana? What are you doing?"
This caught Dave's attention. As he ran towards me pulling Alana into his arms.
"My parents, my family? I need to go."Alana stood up. "You can't go, Alana.."Dave mumbled in her hair.
"I can't do anything, that's my home." By the look on Dave's face, you could see that he was battling with himself.
"Don't worry Alana, I will go and protect you- our family," Dave said cupping his hand around her face.
"No wolf from my pack is giving their life to a border wolf."
Immediately all our eyes snapped towards Ian, "they are not the trustworthy kind and will be the first to sacrifice us to protect their own."
"I am a border wolf, Ian, but I sacrificed my life for this pack, so why can't you sacrifice yourself for mine?" Alana's eyes were blurred by tears as she spoke.
"You no longer belong to that pack."
My phone, buzzed in my hands, taking my attention away from the scene in front of me.
Red moon pack is under attack
Requested for help
Cam is on his way.
Want to join?
That was the message sent to me from Jace. It must have been his guilt talking.
My attention snapped back to the commotion.
"What do you mean Ian, just let me go then, that's my mate's pack. I have to. It's my responsibility-"
" No Dave. your responsibility is here at this pack you are a pack warrior of this pack," Ian stated.
I did not have the chance to hear the rest before I texted Jace back and left the wedding heading for the packhouse.
Rushing up to my room I quickly got changed before grabbing my bow and arrow bag and tying it around my foot and turning into hope.
Giving my body a good shake, I jumped out of the window and onto the ground taking off towards the south side border.
Ian can control his pack but he can't control me.
······································
Upon reaching the border, I stopped and turned back, throwing on an outfit. I grabbed my bow and arrow ready to barge into the fight.
Here goes nothing.
Almost like a fast beat song was playing in my head as I ran into the fight and in moments Cams Blonde wolf was next to mine, protecting me as I fired my arrows into the red orbs of the rouges eyes.
Exhilarating, that's what it felt like. With each arrow that left my bow, each of my struggles left to.
We carried on fighting until even I had to turn. These rouges weren't giving up, they just kept on coming.
But not even a pack of rouges could stand against the force of two packs.
So slowly they receded into the woods. When the coast was clear everyone changed back. Including me. I took Cam's shirt leaving him shirtless.
We both walked towards alpha Stephan as representatives of our pack.
"Thank you for coming out to help beta Cam. And you...weren't you at the wedding? Mates to beta Reese, I am shocked Ian allowed you to come over here."
I smiled, "you getting me mixed up Alpha, yes I was at the wedding but you are confusing me with my twin, she is mated to Reese and has to listen to Ian."
"Speaking of wedding, I sorta didn't tell anyone I was leaving so I am going to make a quick phone call but you'll carry on."
Stepping away from the duo I made my way to my bag and got my phone out dialing my sister.
"Violet? Where the hell is you, you disappeared from the wedding."
"I know I know? Am I on speakerphone? " I asked hearing my voice slightly echo.
"Yup all of us are here."
"Alana," I said," your pack is safe, there is a couple of deaths but no one close to you, so stop stressing your baby out."
I never get a reply just the sound of tears.
"Thank you, Violet," Dave said.
"No problem,"
With that, I cut the call and returned to Cam and Stephan.
"We will be returning here in a couple of days to discuss rouges, they get a lot bolder now. The meeting will take place with representatives from every pack from the northerners to the southerners."
Damn every couple of weeks I am going to see Ian, how am I going to get over the guy. He still secretly makes my heart flutter but there is nothing I can do with him or about him, I am stuck.
"Are you sure that's such a good idea because just a couple of hours ago you and Ian almost tore each other apart?" I said speaking to alpha Stephan.
"Ian? Why not Alpha Ian, you do call me Alpha Stephan.
What's going on between you and Ian little blondie, I saw you trying your best to stay away from him at the wedding, or the lingering looks you both stole.
"
Alpha Stephan smirked at the end and I could visualize him placing pieces of the puzzle together.
"Alana said you were overly cocky I didn't know you were stupid as well."
"She is right Alpha Stephan, she as well as the rest of our pack just risked our lives protecting yours." Cam started taking a step forward.
"I am sorry, my son tends to be an idiot. We are forever grateful for your help and if you require any just give us a call." The elder alpha greeted and thanked us one last time before he and the rest of their pack started to walk to their packhouse.
" we will be returning to the packhouse." Cam told our fighters before he turned to me," I honestly hate that pup, he is so rude,"
I nodded in agreement," back at the wedding, he was picking a fight with Ian, signing his death wish there you know."
"But he has a point," Cam stated.
"What do you mean."
We made our way to the car that he came with.
"Alpha Stephan, he has a point, you never refer to Ian as Alpha just Ian ..why."
"There is no actual reason I just do," I said playing it off.
"Violet!"
"What did Viola tell you?" I asked him as he started to drive.
"She told me quite a few weeks ago to watch over you and when I asked her why she said it wasn't her place to tell, and she never said that before, even when you got your period before her she told me."
I scrunched up my nose," you'll talk about my period..."
"That's not the point, when are you going to tell me or at least Jace about what happened there."
"I am not on best terms with Jace at the moment, so I won't be telling him anything soon and if I tell you he can just use his alpha Joo Joo to find out. So when I am in good books with him, then I will tell both of you."
I turned my head back and focused on the road.
I know deep down that if I tell Jace then he will go all beast mode on that pack and then it will put viola in a bad place and then it will cause a rift between us and no.
I am happy now. I have an amazing family.
Amazing friends and I am the pack warrior for my pack. Nothing can go wrong now.
··············· ·············· ············
Being back home was the best...yes, I did leave my bag up in the north, but I am sure they will send it down... if not I can just buy what I need.
The pack was buzzing on our return. None of our warriors were killed in the battle. An added point for me.
"Violet, Cam you both are back how did it go," Jace asked as he walked to our car.
"Fine."
"Oh come on Violet you aren't still angry. I apologized and I told you about the fight so you wouldn't miss it. And I am sure you had a great time at the wedding."
"Couldn't tell it was cut short." Normally I would never have this much attitude with alpha but Jace isn't an alpha to me, he is more of a best friend.
"So you would rather I did not tell you about the fight." He asked confused.
"No, but I got to be angry at someone."
He laughed, "why?"
"Cause dad said channeling anger and frustration make you a better warrior."
"Then why can't you channel your frustration on someone else. I need my best friend and pack warrior back."
I just looked at him.
"I need my best friend and the best most spectacular pack warrior back and I will buy you ice cream if you forgive me for what I don't know I did."
"Deal." I said smiling," and you know you didn't have to say all the spectacular pack warrior stuff...you could have just mentioned the ice cream and I would have been sold. I already know that I am spectacular."
"Great so now that you both made up...are you going to tell me what happened in the north?" Cam asked.
I just glared at him.
"What do you mean what happened in the north?" Jace asked.
"Viola just said that something happened with Violet in the north and we should just be careful with what we say to her. And then today she referred to Stephan as alpha Stephan but referred to alpha Ian as Ian, not alpha Ian so something is going on there."
"Damn do you not have a filter..."I muttered.
"Violet you know you can talk to us."
"And I will."
"WHEN?" They both asked simultaneously.
When I am ready
"Tomorrow at breakfast."
Oh, what have I gotten myself into?
