Chapter 4 Begging for the Truth
The other side ignored me, so I sent more.
"You know how much I love my husbands. They're everything to me."
"Please tell me which one it was—I was so anxious last night I barely slept..."
"Pleeeeease..."
Only after sending did I realize—it was barely 5:30 a.m.
The tipster was probably still asleep.
How dare they mess with my head and sleep peacefully?
Unacceptable.
I called again several times, getting hung up on each time.
But a message came through.
"Which husband is especially important to you?"
"Aaaaaah—" I threw my phone and screamed.
Why ask something that would wreck relationships?
They were all equally important!
Losing any one would make me cry for at least two hours.
At least!
After raging, I picked up the phone and replied weakly.
In the end, I was just a pitiful woman whose husband had cheated.
To save my marriages, I could set aside pride and reason.
"How much money do you want to tell me?"
Then I saw the big red exclamation mark.
[!]
"Blocked...?"
I'd never know which one had cheated.
I collapsed onto the floor, defeated.
Was I doomed to choke on this forever?
Just then, Shen Xingye called.
"Sister, why aren't you home?"
"...I am home. Just not that home."
Shen Xingye gritted his teeth. "You really do treat the world like your home!"
My face burned. "Sis has a bit of family backing—you know that."
"Refusing to see me again? I've been with you all these years, and you still won't touch me!"
"Is my body not good enough? My face not handsome enough? Am I not obedient enough?"
"I've tried so hard..."
I shot back immediately, "Of course not!"
It was because... my main husband kept me on a tight leash.
I never got the chance.
