CHAPTER TWENTY-FOUR

S o, I decided to date online…

by: Sofia Daria

So, I decided to date online… and I met the mystery man.

Am I wrong to expect my dates to put in as much effort as I do? I get it, men are from Mars, and women are from Venus, but there should be some effort, right? Does it make a difference if your date is at a restaurant, or set for a stroll in the park?

I get it, different scenes, different outcomes, HOWEVER, I think some effort should be made. If a guy can’t even put on a clean shirt for a first date, it has me wondering, how much effort will he be putting into himself three months from now, or a year from now?

AND, if he doesn’t put any effort into himself, how much effort will he put into a relationship?

Maybe I’m overthinking this. You might be thinking, what if the guy can’t afford new clothes, or what if, what if… but the lack of a clean shirt, and the words that came out of his mouth with little thought brought out the 14-year-old insecure teen in me, and I rebutted in an immature way…

Have I got your attention now? You want to know what happened, don’t you?

Well, here it is…

Reliving the horrible date makes me feel a little better about myself. The guy was a little off, and I did wind up meeting someone better.

…So although my date ended with a different man than it began with, I got to meet my mystery man… And I got his digits!

Only time will tell now, so until next time, I’ll leave you with this….

Always put on a clean shirt, date or no date. You never know who you will run into!
