Chapter 19

Marian

Love wasn’t an excuse for abuse. Love wasn’t a band aid for brutality. It didn’t wipe away trauma nor did it act as a buffer for cruelty. Good did not protect from evil. Was I good? Absolutely not. Was I evil? Only when I had to be.

I wasn’t schooled in the ways of the real world, but I knew how deep the depths of negative intentions could go.

My parents never made a decision that wasn’t in their best interest. It didn’t matter if it destroyed people.

They didn’t care if they had to end lives.

It wasn’t common, but it wasn’t hidden from me either.

My dad did his best to educate me on the life of our selective little circle.

We did whatever we could to get ahead. We worked in partnerships when we had to.

Drayton was doing the same… but how? For what?

Elec.

I had to get more information on Elec. He was the one helping Drayton. He was the key.

“Hey.”

The slap to my cheek had me glaring up into green eyes as Drayton slammed his cock into me again. Had we been here for almost four days already? Living in this lust? Hate-fucking at every turn? The hit left behind a sting that had me twisting to break free.

“I already told you. Eyes on me. Right here.” He pushed his thumb into my mouth to grip and angle my face back so that I had to look directly at him.

My teeth bit down as I increased the pressure, but not enough to break his skin.

Just enough to threaten him without causing enough damage to get me hurt.

That only had him digging his thumb down under my tongue. “Don’t test me, doll.”

“You’re hurting me. This hurts.”

“Did you think it was supposed to feel good? No teeth. Ever.”

“Then keep your finger out of my mouth.”

Although my words were muffled, it didn’t stop him from understanding. His thumb removed only to quickly be replaced by two of his fingers. The quick pressure over my tongue had me gagging.

“You don’t learn, do you? Owned. You obey everything I say.”

Harder, he thrust, slamming into me as he pushed his fingers even deeper until I was on the verge of gagging again.

Tears blurred my vision, but the sounds that kept leaving him stole my focus.

The deep moans. The rumbles and way he wouldn’t stop staring into my eyes.

It was like he was trying to force his way in.

Or…allow me back in? I wasn’t sure as I found my lips sealing around his fingers.

The need to suck. To…tease against him somehow came to me.

I tested the act, bringing my tongue up just enough to brush against him.

At his lids growing even heavier, I let my jaw relax so that I molded my tongue around the digits.

The suction had the pleasure multiplying as my body built even higher.

“Fuck. Jesus. Suck. Just like that.”

I could feel Drayton’s cock growing thicker and heavier inside me, and the more I sucked, the closer I got to my own release. But did I want that again? I was enjoying this a little too much. A little too soon.

Think.

Think.

Fuck, I couldn’t think with Drayton’s eyes on me.

I couldn’t disassociate with his intensity.

The pleasure was too much, especially with the small pings of pain.

I shouldn’t have enjoyed the stinging. I wasn’t sure when pain and pleasure had somehow twisted into what I wanted, but from the beginning it was there.

From after his first thrust. The pain. The need.

The…want. Maybe I was sick. Maybe it was some sort of justification in my guilty mind. I didn’t know, but I liked it.

“Spread wider. I want to see. I need—” Drayton pulled his fingers free of my mouth, pushing my knees open as he watched where his cock was thrusting.

The act shouldn’t have been shocking. I’d watched porn on occasion.

But something about seeing Drayton want this.

Watching his face twist in ecstasy as he walked the edge of his release had my orgasm coming from nowhere.

Spasms left my legs shaking and I screamed out, feeling Drayton’s hands lock to my hips.

I screamed again and gasped as he angled me to push as deep as he could go.

Cum. It filled me. Hot. Powerful. All Drayton. I liked it. I wanted it.

“Dray, fuck, don’t move yet. Don’t—” My legs drew in as I brought my knees to my chest. Again, my body shook with pleasure.

Drayton didn’t pull out. He was still watching where we were joined.

Still staring as if he were afraid the moment would disappear.

And it did as he gave his head a jerk. The quick slap to my ass had me jumping.

“Shower. Now. We’ve let enough time pass that no one should be tracking the men. The team should be here any minute. You disobey me again and fucking is the last thing you’ll endure. You like it too damn much.”

“You’re the one who keeps ordering me.”

Drayton withdrew, but I didn’t move. I watched him, changing the look on my face. Innocent. Seductive. Soft tone.

“How is Elec?”

Drayton winced in what looked to be pain. I could tell from the immediate glare that Elec was the last thing he wanted to talk about with me.

“Fine. Why?”

“You two seem close. I haven’t seen him in almost ten years. It brought back a lot of memories. He and my mom worked together. They were inseparable for a while.”

Drayton turned, standing and grabbing his jeans to slide on.

“I guess.” At my silence, he rolled his eyes. “I told you what happened.”

“Saying she took advantage of her job was not an explanation, Dray. What did she do to deserve death? My dad, my brother. Me, owned, by you. What the hell is going on? This doesn’t happen to people in the circle unless there’s treason, and you know it.

Did my mom commit treason? You said she did bad things to people and that my family was complicit. Tell me what happened.”

His head shook. I could see something in his thoughts twist his features.

“I don’t know. I only know what I was told.

She… blackmailed people or something. Like…

got things out of them without them knowing.

Or.” He stopped. “I didn’t understand what Elec meant.

Only that she did it and was caught. There’s video proof.

Lots of it, but they’re still going through everything.

She manipulated those who trusted her. She took their money, homes, cars, property.

Fucking everything she could get her hands on.

What’s worse was—” His eyes met mine only for them to tear away.

Confusion flashed and doubt had me sitting up.

“She was having a lot of affairs. The affairs were questionable. The men said she somehow manipulated things out of them. Others questioned how it even happened. Maybe they were just too chickenshit to admit they handed over such elaborate things. That’s my guess.

I don’t know. Like I said, I don’t really understand, but the hypnosis part of her job was brought up.

Regardless, let’s just say there’s a lot of pissed off wives. ”

“Of course there is.” My head shook. My mother, always greedy for more. Always wanting what she couldn’t have. “Thank you for telling me.”

Nothing. No good information about Elec, and I couldn’t force him so I could know more. I had so many questions. Why turn on my mom? Was he a victim? Why work with Drayton? I stood, heading for the shower. I didn’t make it but a few steps before Drayton’s voice had me stopping to face him.

“Marian.”

“Yeah?”

“You need to prepare yourself for some very rough times ahead. Not just with me. If you make it past what I have planned for you with Bastian, we will marry. As the heir—”

“Heir?” My breath caught. “You were reinstated? How?” Before he could answer, my hand was already coming to my mouth.

Shock. It hit just as hard and fast as the truth.

“Of course.” For seconds I couldn’t speak.

Drayton’s eyes were hard. Unfeeling. “Now things are starting to make sense. My mother’s guilt.

Elec always helping to lead our circle. He’d want you as heir.

… Shit. I was payment for your suffering. For your revenge. I get it now.”

“The families will not be happy about this match. Especially mine. But we’re both the villains now.

When my family discovers the truth, they will challenge my title.

They will not win. I am heir, and I will remain so until death.

Where I will have it hard, you will have it worse.

You will still have to deal with me. Like I said before…

you haven’t even started to pay for what you’ve done. ”

The sudden deadness in his stare had me trying to stand tall, but I could feel true fear sinking in.

To marry Drayton as The Devil of Hollywood was almost a relief.

I could take the pain. I could take torture so long as we had a semi-normal life.

To marry the heir… one of the rulers of our biggest bloodline, the responsibilities that came with that were immense.

The battle would only truly just begin. There’d be more threats than just Drayton.

They’d come from every angle for both of us.

It wasn’t unheard of when a title was on the line.

But then there was me. Some might want to derail Drayton’s lead by hurting me.

They’d try to kill me. Especially before an heir was born.

Those in the circle would want to discredit our standing. They’d—

“If you pass out—.”

“I’m not going to pass out.”

“Good. I need someone strong, not that I think you are. You’re weak, and weakness won’t keep you at my side.

I need an heir. I need your bloodline to mix with mine.

But don’t misunderstand this. Technically, strong or not, I don’t need you, just what you can give me.

If that proves impossible, there are other options. Ones you won’t have a choice in.”
