Marian #2

My bottom lip trembled before I could stop it. Did he know? Did he suspect? He was here, and my husband wasn’t. Not really. He had to know.

“No need to cry. Drayton won’t remember any of this after the pills I switched out in your purse. This can be our secret. Would you rather we keep going?”

I quickly shook my head back and forth. He licked against the fingers that had been inside of me, shrugging.

“No? It could be fun. A distraction, if you will.”

Faster, my head shook.

“You might come to regret your need to get rid of me. Business, then.”

“Elec—”

“No. I have a few questions.”

“Why here? Why like this?”

No emotion. No expression.

“To show you.” His eyes narrowed. “I can do anything, Marian. Be anywhere. I can get to you when you think I can’t.

No moment is too private. No home is too safe.

” His hand slapped in a steady rhythm against my face.

Not hard. Not soft. He looked at my lips, letting his gaze linger before his stare lifted.

“To put it simply: because I fucking can. Why not? Your mother ruined my marriage. For years she made Vivia believe the two of us were having an affair. My wife, who I adored, became depressed. She was popping pills like candy, and I had no fucking idea until it was too late. Car accident. Your mother destroyed my life. It’s her fault I lost my wife. My kids.”

“But Elec—"

His hand shot up. For a long moment, he didn’t speak. He caressed along my cheek, and I couldn’t stop the whimper. Warnings were screaming in my head, yet my body was still humming.

“Despite my… hatred for Melissa, I really thought I could set you apart from her. But you see, something’s been bugging me since the morning you left the hotel.

I’d like to think I learned my lesson. So, let’s break everything down.

” His finger traced over my lips, and his other hand flicked towards my husband.

“Why did you come to breakfast with Drayton?”

My mouth opened, and I cried out as two of Drayton’s fingers eased themselves inside of me. There was no pain, but the movement was robotic. He was drugged, and he was nothing but a puppet in this state for Elec and his gifts.

“Drayton told me to. I didn’t want to go but he made me.”

Elec’s stare narrowed even more, but he didn’t divert his gaze. “How long has he been affectionate towards you? Let’s say… when did it become different than when he first took you? When was the shift?”

The arousal mixing with humiliation had me fighting against Drayton’s hold, but he wouldn’t stop trying to build me up.

“I-I don’t know.”

His expression flashed with anger.

“Think harder. You can’t imagine what I could make him do to you on that drug.

And you’d let him if I said so. Even though you didn’t take it, its oozing from his pores.

You’re affected, but not by anything but the pleasure part of it.

It’s why he can’t help himself. Why even though you don’t want this, your body does.

He won’t stop unless I say. Now, answer. When?”

I sobbed, seeing my mother all over again, but it wasn’t her. It was Elec, and he was a monster of her making. He’d never stop until I found a way to direct his suspicion to someone else. I had to do something! Think. Think. “Right before the wedding? Maybe after? Both, I think?”

“You think?”

“Elec, please. Drayton?” I turned to my husband, trying to grab the wrist to the hand he was using to penetrate me.”

“He won’t help you, Marian. He has a one-mission mind at the moment. The longer time passes, the more he fades away. Only sleep can reset him, and he’s not ready for that yet.”

“Sleep? But Drayton doesn’t—”

“Let’s try this again. I’m going to show you what happens when you think you can keep secrets. Faster, Drayton.”

“But Elec, I don’t have secrets.” I cried out as Drayton obeyed. I went to open my mouth to say more, but Elec’s hand flattened over it, moving in so close that I could see nothing but him.

“If you think about screaming from anything other than an orgasm—”

“I won’t.” My words were muffled, but he pulled back. “I just want to talk. I want to explain.” I wiggled in Drayton’s hold, but he only locked around my hips harder. He only got rougher, trying to put me back in my place.

“I don’t want to hear your excuses. The only reason you’re alive right now is because I allowed it. Which I’m starting to regret. You have one last chance to be honest, or I make him hurt you. Really hurt you. Nod if you understand.”

I quickly nodded as my mind raced. Think. Think!

“Good. What have you done? And before you think to lie, don’t.

I know you’ve done something. You see, Drayton wasn’t ready to forgive you so quickly, Marian.

You had more to endure. I was told to make sure of it by encouraging punishment.

But here you both are, happy husband and wife, delving into the traditional ways, weeks early.

” His eyes narrowed as he cursed. “I knew something was wrong when he showed up with you for breakfast.”

“Nothing’s wrong.”

“Oh, it is. This isn’t supposed to be happening yet.

That could only mean you’ve influenced my timeline.

That’s dangerous. For you, it should be impossible.

Do you know what Drayton could do to you if you start trying to mess with his orders?

” His eyes narrowed. “Imagine that I built a bridge. If you damage the structure that holds the bridge into place, what happens? The bridge falls, Marian. Drayton’s mind could break if you start trying to use your mother’s skills against my own.

You have no idea what you’re messing with. ”

“But I’m not doing anything to Drayton. I swear it.

” I sobbed. Dangerous. Was anything more dangerous than the man before me?

I twisted his words so his attention would be off my mother and back to what he wanted.

“You said weeks.” My head shook. “I didn’t do what you’re accusing me of.

I didn’t mess with him so that he’d alter your schedule.

Not intentionally. Drayton told me about Georgie when we were headed down to breakfast. I…

.” Again, I sobbed, crying out from the mix of guilt, fear, and arousal.

Drayton was fucking me with his fingers, but he’d reached to start teasing my clit making it impossible to think.

“It was my idea. No tricks. I wanted this. I-I need it. Drayton didn’t want to at first. He wasn’t—” My body jerked at the sensitivity.

“He wasn’t going to, Elec. I initiated. I asked him if he could try it out just so I could get a taste of what it would be like.

I begged him. I wouldn’t stop. Please. I’m sorry for pushing him.

I didn’t know what the pressure would do to his mind.

I just… I need this. I need…to be hurt. To be put in my place. ” Harder, I cried.

Blue eyes were cold as he searched my face. His hand lifted, lowering slowly. Drayton slowed, but he didn’t stop.

“Guilt.” His eyes closed and he took in a deep breath. “That’s why you want the traditional ways, right? You feel guilty because of your mother?”

“Yes.” My hair stuck to the wetness of my face, and Elec pushed it back, tenderly. Softening as he continued to trace his fingertips towards my mouth.

“But he was different before you begged, wasn’t he.”

It wasn’t a question, and I knew I couldn’t lie.

“Yes.”

“What did you do, Marian?”

My heart dropped all over again. All I could do was shake my head as I fought to see through tears.

At my silence, Elec made a circle gesture, and I felt Drayton remove his fingers.

His cock quickly eased against my opening, stretching me as he pulled and wrapped around me, entering so slowly I was on the verge of an orgasm I couldn’t fight.

“Fuck. Elec, please. I didn’t do anything. I don’t know.”

Elec made a path over my bottom lip, moving around the top. “Maybe I trade places with him and make Drayton watch.

“N-No. It… It had to be during the wedding. When I was walking down the aisle.” I tried to catch my breath.

“That’s when his face changed into something…

different. He just looked different. But it wasn’t because of something I did.

The change I saw in him didn’t last which is why I can’t give you a timeline.

” I cried harder. “He’s not always stable.

He’s mean, he’s nice. He cut off two of Jaxson’s fingers.

His mood is all over the place. He has these really bad headaches—”

Elec snapped and Drayton froze inside of me.

“Go back to Jaxson. He did what?”

I tried to stop the trembling that made it almost impossible to speak. “He cut off Jaxson’s fingers. He wanted him to prove his loyalty. I’m g-glad he did it. This new Drayton may be hard and mean, but he’s what the Pennington line needs. He can fix whatever mess it’s become. I know he can.”

“So do I. Why do you think I had them make him heir again? I know what Drayton is capable of. But what about you? You’re the issue here, Marian. Not Drayton. It’s you I don’t trust, and you’re changing the subject like a pro.”

“I’ve done nothing but tell you the truth.

I’m not using my mother’s skills. I’m being a good wife.

I’m supporting Drayton in his decisions, and that’s what’s important.

Nothing matters but what I can do for this line.

I’m perfect for Drayton. I’ll do whatever he needs me to do.

I’ll give him heirs. He can be happy. Whatever he wants. ”

“Is that right? Whatever he wants? What about what you want?”

“… I don’t understand.”

“You know exactly what I’m insinuating. You’re a shark, Marian. Sharks need blood. They don’t submit. They’re smart, and you are so smart.”

Elec grabbed against my throat, squeezing as he pulled me forward, away from Drayton. He drew me up on my knees so that we weren’t even a foot apart. I held tightly to his wrist, not able to stop my body as it shook.
