Marian #3
“Look into my eyes, Marian. Look deep.” My body jolted as his hand slid between my legs.
“That’s it. Let your mind feel but see only me.
” I jerked hard, getting nowhere. All I could see was darkness.
All I felt was the pressure of his fingers rubbing circles over the wetness between my legs as my mind turned even hazier.
“The brain does this wonderful thing where it can redirect. I’m just redirecting and playing with what you feel versus what you think.
But what I want is hidden underneath.” Teeth pulled against my bottom lip, and my mouth shot open as he increased the pressure around my throat.
“Fuck, you’re a pretty one. I didn’t see it back then.
I saw nothing but her. Now, I can’t even think about Vivia.
Your mother did that. She ruined her for me long before the accident.
I should have seen it. I should have known Melissa was behind why we were barely talking anymore…
Maybe I should ruin Drayton for you. It might be fun.
Do you like games, Marian? I miss playing games. ”
“No. Elec.”
His name barely made a sound as pressure built in my face. I could barely see the darkness in his stare. Tears were pouring free, regardless that I was past the point of crying.
“Beautiful eyes,” he breathed out. “Captivating. You could hold so much power. You could…” His thoughts lingered.
Oxygen returned, and I coughed as I tried sucking in more air than I could handle.
Elec’s fingers still explored my pussy, and the sensations made me shiver in ways I didn’t like. The pleasure was back, and it was real.
“Please.” I still scraped in air as he kept a hold on my throat. “I’ll be good. I told you I would be.”
“Your mother told you more than she should have. That’s against protocol.
You know things, but your voice isn’t trained.
You could try to use it to hook Drayton, but the effects wouldn’t lock in for long, if at all.
Too much would become obvious. Drayton would suspect, so that’s not it.
” His gaze returned to mine. “It’s the eyes.
You tried using them on me, and now you’re going to do it again.
Look at me the way you look at Drayton.” His fingers flexed around my neck, and fear spiked as he moved to rub around my clit.
I couldn’t think. I could barely process his words with his eyes so close.
“Come on.” He sucked against my bottom lip, kissing me hard as he adjusted his grip to tease me with air. “Look at me like you look at him. Show me, Marian. Show me. I want to see her. I know she’s inside you. Show her to me.”
“My mother is here,” I managed. “You’ll find her, but that’s not me. I’m not her.”
“Let’s find out.” His words slurred, and I suddenly realized maybe it wasn’t him. It was me. My brain wasn’t perceiving things right. He was giving commands that my brain couldn’t grasp. Elec was speaking, but what he was saying or asking wouldn’t process.
“Elec, stop. Elec.”
“Look.”
“I’m looking. I—”
He leaned back and his eyes became clear, but as soon as they did, he was back close again, speaking, whispering, commanding, like she used to.
Air was almost impossible to take in, and it had nothing to do with how tight he held me.
Panic left me scrambling to fight him with everything I had.
I tried twisting. I jerked and tried pulling back towards Drayton.
I knew my nails had drawn blood against his hands, but I couldn’t dare move them far from the hold that held my throat.
My body wasn’t working right, and that terrified me.
Elec eased back, searching my eyes.
“Show me, Marian. Look at me the way you look at Drayton.” He kissed me hard again. “Show me your secrets.” He paused. I could feel my face transition on its own. My eyes rounded out. My thoughts screamed, but I could do nothing.
“There we have it.” He paused, shaking his head in fascination.
“Too easy. Susceptibility is everything when the mind has no walls for the truth to hide behind.” Elec took a ragged breath, a look of awe and rage twisting his face as he studied me like some plague under a microscope.
“It amazes me how people shrug off this ability, as if it’s not real.
As if it doesn’t hold great power. I say a few commands; I bend and manipulate your brain chemistry, and you comply with my every want and need.
Science.” He smiled broader. “Fascinating. Hypnotic. So, this is how Drayton sees you.”
“I’m not her. Please.”
Snap. Snap.
“No, no, no. Don’t ruin this. Shh.” Still, he moved his head this way and that, captivation taking over. Seconds passed. A minute. He snapped again. Was he expecting me to do more? Was there more?
His face softened and he gave a nod, as if he’d made some momentous decision.
“So beautiful… but weak. You couldn’t erase my orders if you wanted to. I feel nothing.” He paused, as if still expecting me to do something else. “Nothing at all. I should feel something, but I don’t. And here I was worried. You’re no threat. You’re no Melissa. You should be thankful for that.”
“I am. I really am. I may not be able to be affected like normal people, but I don’t know what I’m doing. I don’t want to.”
“You still haven’t convinced me. I’m not leaving until you do.” A smirk tugged at his mouth. “And you’re wrong, Marian. Everyone can be affected, and I’m going to show you.”
