Chapter Four
This is crazy and doesn’t feel like real life. Like my life. Never in a million years did I think I would ever let three men, who were strangers just hours ago, escort me home, but I am.
I was so disappointed when Amber canceled on me and tried to set me up with Troy, but now I’m thankful.
If I hadn’t left the house, I never would have met Walker, Levi, and Hudson.
I never would have had the nerve to approach them if not backed into a corner.
Walking up to random guys in a bar has never been, and will never be, my speed. With the exception of tonight.
Tonight I learned when pushed out of my comfort zone, good things could happen. You could meet three men who are amazingly sweet.
Three criminally hot men who are manly men. Men who make my panties wet by just smiling at me. It’s no wonder I let them talk me into letting them drive me home. Men that I’m completely smitten with. Men who will soon know where I live.
And this is how you end up on a true crime documentary.
I shake the thought away as the cool air whips around me.
My dress is pinned down between my legs and the seat so it’s not blowing all over the place.
It’s nice. I never saw the appeal of riding on the back of a bike, but I get it now.
Especially if you have someone like Walker, who’s a furnace to hold onto.
Walker.
There is just something about him that makes me trust him.
I haven’t spotted one single red flag where he’s concerned.
Yeah, he’s quiet and slightly broody, but it’s not in a bad way.
You can tell that he’s listening, all while making sure those he cares about are safe by watching the room.
When he asked me to trust him, it was easy to agree.
I knew that despite my reservations and never being on a bike, he would make sure I got home safely.
That he wouldn’t do anything to put me in danger.
It’s not just him, though. Levi and Hudson don’t appear to have any red flags either.
Hudson is like a golden retriever and a perpetual flirt.
He’s quick to smile, and just by looking at him, you can’t help but feel a little bit happier than you did five minutes ago.
Levi is the more serious one, but not in a bad way.
You can tell he cares. He’s got that daddy thing going for him, which I think is every woman’s secret kryptonite.
The bike starts to slow down, and I look around, realizing we are approaching my place.
Damn, has it really been twenty minutes?
When the bike comes to a stop in front of my place, I can’t help but pout.
I don’t want to walk away from them. Not yet, but I know I need to.
This was one wild night for me. As much as I want to see them again, I’m sure they don’t feel the same. Still, I can dream.
My mouth waters as Levi gets off his bike and takes off his helmet.
It’s really unfair how attractive they are.
Have I always had a thing for bad boys or is this a new development?
I think back to my exes and quickly realize that it’s most definitely a new thing for me.
Levi walks over and helps me off of Walker’s bike.
“Thank you,” I tell him.
He reaches up and starts undoing the strap on the helmet and takes it off of my head. “You’re welcome.”
“This is a nice place. Cute neighborhood,” Hudson says.
“Thanks. I love it,” I tell him as I hand Walker back the leather jacket.
When I look at my house, I smile. I bought the fixer-upper craftsman-style home right out of college.
During that first summer, I learned how to power wash the siding and the driveway.
Then I bought a commercial grade spray gun and painted the entire place.
I had so much fun painting with it that I even used it when I painted the walls inside.
Troy complained the whole time, but I did it anyway. I wanted something that was just mine.
“Have you had to do much work?” Walker asks.
“Slowly but surely I’ve been doing little projects. I’ve painted everything, designed the flower beds, and exchanged some light fixtures.”
“Really? Where did you learn to do all of that?” Levi asks, sounding impressed.
“YouTube,” I tell them honestly, making them laugh.
“Anyway, thank you for tonight. I had a really good time, and that wouldn’t have happened if you guys didn’t let me hang out with you, so thank you,” I tell them.
Walker reaches out and squeezes my hand. “You’re welcome.”
“It was our pleasure,” Hudson adds.
I look over at Levi and see him smiling down at me. “What they said. Now do you want me to walk you to your front door?”
“I got it. Thank you, though.”
One by one they lean in and kiss my cheeks, making me blush.
“Bye.” I wave as I walk away from them.
As I make my way up the steps and into my place I feel their eyes on me.
It makes me feel special.
Cared for.
After locking my front door, I move to the window in my living room and peel back the curtain enough to peek out but not be seen. I watch as Levi gets on his bike and they start them all up.
How freaking sweet. They waited until I was safely inside before driving away.
Has a guy ever done that before?
No. Not unless they were coming in for a nightcap.
They are amazing. One of a kind. Or I guess, three of a kind.
It’s only as I watch them drive away that I realize I never got their phone numbers.
Well, shit, I guess all good things have to come to an end at some point, right?
This is my Cinderella moment.
For one night, I was the princess who got all of their attention.
They doted on me and made me feel special.
They made sure I got home safely. Then as soon as I walked into my house, reality came crashing back in.
My carriage, or motorcycle, turned into a pumpkin.
Reminding me that I’m just a normal girl.
One that good things rarely happen to.
Oh well, I would rather have had one night of perfection than nothing at all.
The door shuts behind her, and I swear it feels like I’ve had a limb cut off. I want to get off my bike and follow her. I want to keep her little body tucked up against mine, keeping her safe.
Hudson rolls his bike up next to mine. “You like her.”
“I do.”
“Me too,” he confesses.
“She intrigues me as well,” Levi adds.
“It feels wrong leaving her here,” I tell them as I scan the street.
“We have to,” Levi says.
“I wonder if she would be up for our lifestyle,” Hudson muses.
I watch the curtain lightly sway and smile.
She’s totally peeking out to see if we are still here.
“It’s too soon,” Levi says.
“Yeah, but can’t you just imagine her spread out for us to feast on? I’m hard just thinking about watching her take both of your cocks while she gags on mine,” Hudson says wistfully.
“Thanks. Now I have that in my head when my dick was finally starting to calm down,” I mutter.
“Yeah, yeah, yeah. As if that’s possible with her on your mind. I bet you still smell like her. Maybe I should climb on behind you so I can sniff you.”
“Fuck off,” I grumble as he laughs.
Levi’s cell phone ring cuts through the quiet night.
“Shit,” he hisses as he grabs it out of his pocket.
“Yeah?” He listens for a minute. “We’re on our way.”
He hangs up and turns toward us. “We need to go. As much fun as this is, standing outside her house like stalkers, talking about what-ifs, we have shit to do. Business to handle.”
“Let’s roll out,” Hudson says.
With one last look at her house, I turn on my bike.
It takes everything in me to pull away from her curb and drive off into the night. The entire ride to the clubhouse, I fight the urge to turn around.
When we pull into the clubhouse, I look around. The place is packed. I groan when I see a couple of souped-up bikes.
Great.
That means some of the members from Zade’s time are here. While most took the transition well and the ones who didn’t took off, there are a few who lingered. For the most part they keep their mouths shut, but from time to time they like to try and stir shit. Giving us all a headache.
“Great. Just fucking great,” Hudson mutters.
“What the hell are they doing here?” Levi groans.
We get off our bikes and head inside. As soon as we step through the door, the atmosphere shifts.
“Boys, about time you joined us!” Streets says.
He’s got his arms around two club girls who couldn’t look more uncomfortable if they tried.
“What are you doing here, Streets?” Levi asks coolly.
“Just came by to visit old friends. You know how it is,” Streets says.
“Oh? Going over to Shadow Crew territory for a race?” Hudson asks.
“You know it. I plan to win big.” Streets winks.
“That’s nice, still doesn’t explain why you are here. You know you lost your right to stop by when you left,” Levi tells him.
Hudson coughs into his hand, trying to smother his laugh. Even I feel my lips twitch.
Not only is it funny that he thinks he’s going to beat one of the Shadow Crew members in a street race, but it’s fucking hilarious how Levi puts him in his place with zero fucks.
Not only is it funny but I like seeing his dominant side. It reminds me that we get a side of him no one else does.
Streets’ eyes narrow as he leans forward. As soon as the girls are free from his clutches, they run off.
“I came here to visit friends. Last I checked, that was allowed,” Streets says.
Levi shakes his head. “You can visit them at their places. To access the clubhouse, you need permission. You know this.”
“Sorry, Pres. When he called and asked where I was, I didn’t think twice. I didn’t know he would show. I take full responsibility,” Stride says as he shifts from side to side.
Stride was a prospect when we used to be in the racing scene.
When we took over and switched everything up, he was more than up for it and stayed.
It fucking disappoints me that he gave out that information willingly.
I would have thought that after all this time he would have a little more discretion, but apparently I was wrong.
“We will talk about it later,” Levi tells him before looking back at Streets. “It’s time for you to go.”
“Make me,” Streets hisses.
“With fucking pleasure,” I mutter as I stride forward. I grab him by the back of the neck and pull one of his arms behind his back as I force him to stand.
“I need that hand to shift, fucking watch it,” Streets snaps.
Instead of loosening my hold, I jerk his arms up higher. I march him outside and to his bike.
“Get on and don’t look back. You lost the right to hang with us when you left,” I remind him.
“Fuck you, Walker. Tell me, do you like being Levi’s bitch in all aspects of life or only when he fucks you up the ass?”
My anger gets the best of me, and I slam him up against his bike, making it topple over.
Holding him up in the air by his collar, I get right in his face.
Leaning forward, I whisper in his ear, “You should know better than to sex shame us when we’ve seen the shit you’re into.
If I were you, I’d keep your fucking mouth shut.
Or should I remind you, I know all about your golden showers fetish and how you like it in the mouth? ”
He stops fighting me and goes still. “You wouldn’t.”
“Don’t fucking tempt me. Now go.”
Releasing him, I step back and cross my arms.
As he and some of the other race guys take off, Levi comes to stand next to me.
“What did he say to you?” Levi asks as we watch the taillights fade into the distance.
“Don’t worry about it. Let’s go to bed. I’m done with this shit.”
Turning, he smirks at me. “Someone need some tension relief?”
I think back to Esme.
“Damn right I do, and I know you do too.”
He groans but follows behind me, grabbing Hudson along the way.
Tonight was a great night, even with the little side issue. I know I’m not the only one who can’t get Esme out of my head.
We didn’t leave her with a way to contact us, but I know we will see her again. The universe can’t be that cruel to put the perfect woman in my lap, then take her away.
Or maybe it can be.
