Chapter 29

You’re worried about what kind of food an abominable snowman might serve you, but at this point, you’re too hungry to care.

“Don’t worry,” the abominable snowman says, as if reading your mind. “I won’t make you eat anything weird.”

“What sort of food do you eat out here?”

“Oh, mostly frosted flakes.”

Robert makes you both bowls of frosted flakes, and you sit together on the cold ground, consuming your dinners.

You eat with a spoon, but the yeti uses his hands.

Still, he is surprisingly graceful. His hands are large and masculine, yet there’s something oddly delicate about them, like a piano-player’s hands.

“Do you ever get bored out here?” you ask him.

“Not really,” he says. “I really like to play hockey, so that eats up some time.”

Ooh, he’s a hockey player. Hockey players are so hot.

You blink, surprised by your own thoughts. Why are you thinking about the abominable snowman being hot? A couple of hours ago, you were terrified of him. You thought he was going to eat you. And now…

Robert looks up at you. There’s something in his gaze that makes you wonder if he’s thinking the same thing you are.

“The truth is,” he says, “I might not be bored, but I do get lonely here a lot.”

“I see,” you murmur.

“And,” he adds, “it’s been nice having you here tonight, Sloan.”

“It’s been nice being here tonight,” you reply, and you’re surprised to find that you absolutely mean it. “Really nice.”

Robert stretches, revealing his taut chest. Under that white fur, his body is covered in bulging muscles. He’s the picture of raw masculinity, in yeti form.

Your eyes meet across the fire. The desire in his eyes is unmistakable—he is tacitly letting you know that if you want him, he’s yours. But do you want him?

It has, after all, been 19 months since you’ve had a boyfriend. And you have a feeling that this abominable snowman is a very skilled lover. But at the same time, he’s not pressuring you. The choice is in your hands.
