Chapter 40 Stay At Home

In the living room of the Sinclair family villa, Victoria sat on the sofa, her ears perked up to listen for any sound from upstairs while she chatted in the [Loving Family] group chat on her phone.

After she sent the photo to the group, Normand and Neil, who hadn't muted the chat, immediately sent messages.

Normand: "It's a good picture."

Neil: "This is the first time I've seen my brother happy. Look at how focused he is when he stares at her."

Normand: "The young lady is very nice."

Although Normand only said a few simple words, as a leader who had been in the business world for a long time, his eye for people was no less accurate than a precision instrument.

Very few people could earn Normand's approval.

Victoria never thought that after just one meal, Normand could give Kendall such a high evaluation.

Kendall was simply the Sinclair family's lucky star! She wondered what kind of family could raise such a wonderful daughter.

Victoria couldn't help but look at the photo she had just taken again.

She decided that she would print it out tonight and frame it.

This was the first time Nathan and Kendall met at the Sinclair family's house, and it was the first time Nathan was willing to interact with someone outside of the Sinclair family. It was a very memorable moment!

The sound of footsteps came from the stairs. Victoria looked up and saw Kendall coming down the spiral staircase. Following closely behind her was a quiet and well-behaved Nathan. Victoria put down her phone and said with a friendly smile, "Kendall, are you thirsty? Come over and have some tea."

"No," Kendall shook her head. "Aunt Victoria, I have other things to do. I have to go now."

"Oh? So soon? Aren't you going to stay for dinner?

" Victoria got up, her eyes falling on Nathan, who had heard that Kendall was leaving.

His eyebrows were furrowed, and he looked a little anxious.

It had only been a short time since she had lunch with the Sinclair family.

It was probably only around 2 p.m., so it was still far from dinner time.

Kendall chuckled. "Thank you, Aunt Victoria, but you don't need to prepare dinner for me. I have plans to meet a friend this afternoon."

Victoria nodded with a little regret. Seeing that Kendall was about to leave, Victoria seemed to remember something. She picked up her phone and said to Kendall, "Kendall, let's exchange numbers. You are always welcome to come over and visit whenever you have time."

"Okay." Kendall also took out her phone, and the two of them quickly became chat friends.

Nathan watched this, his brows furrowed, looking anxious. He followed closely behind Kendall. As Victoria saw Kendall to the door, Nathan, no matter how slow he was, realized what was happening.

"Stay at home," Nathan said, and suddenly reached out and grabbed Kendall's wrist.

With her wrist grabbed, Kendall stopped. She looked down slightly. The hand holding her wrist was fair and large. His body temperature was high, and his palm was dry and warm. The part of her wrist he held was also warmed by his touch.

Kendall, the person whose wrist was suddenly grabbed, didn't react much, but Victoria, who was seeing Kendall off, had a strong reaction.

Her son, who hadn't liked being touched since he was little, had just grabbed a girl's hand?!

Victoria wished she could immediately take out her phone and capture this scene. But she managed to restrain herself and didn't do it.

She took a few steps forward, wanting to remove Nathan's hand from Kendall's wrist, but was afraid that her touch would make Nathan uncomfortable.

Victoria first apologized to Kendall. "I'm so sorry, Kendall. Nathan is not usually like this. I'll get him to let go of you."

Kendall nodded, showing that she wasn't angry. Then Victoria turned her head and kindly tried to persuade Nathan. "Nathan, what are you doing? Let Kendall go."

Nathan could understand what was said to him and was capable of responding. After hearing Victoria's words, he not only did not let go of Kendall, but he held her even tighter. His young, clear voice was a little rough. "Stay at home."

Nathan had spoken before, but his voice was so soft and quick that no one had heard it clearly. Victoria didn't even realize it was her youngest son who was speaking.

This time, Victoria heard him clearly. Her eyes widened, and her expression became excited. God knows how long it had been since she heard Nathan speak. When Nathan was little, he would occasionally make a few protests with a flat tone and a cold face when he encountered things he didn't like.

As he got older, his reactions to the outside world became fewer and fewer until there were almost none.

Kendall didn't understand Victoria's feelings. She had only met Nathan twice. Not to mention, Nathan had already spoken upstairs. Although his three words were very simple, Kendall seemed to understand what he meant.

Kendall raised her wrist. Nathan's hand also moved.

Kendall looked up and asked, "Are you asking me to stay at your house?"

After grabbing Kendall's wrist, the anxious expression on Nathan's face disappeared. He heard Kendall talking to him, thought for a moment, and obediently nodded. "Not at a hotel. Stay at home."

Kendall was amused. "So, out of everything I just said to you, you only remembered those three words?"

Nathan pursed his lips and didn't say a word, but his determined eyes seemed to be silently refuting Kendall. He wasn't wrong.

Kendall finally realized that this naive young master seemed to have misunderstood something. "What I said to you just now was to tell you not to go to the hotel for no reason. Look at how well-decorated your house is, and how great the location is, and the surroundings are so beautiful..."

Kendall stopped speaking and suddenly realized something. She looked up at Nathan. So, because he heard her praise his villa, Nathan thought she liked the Sinclair family's villa and wanted to keep her there?

Nathan looked down at Kendall. His eyes were especially beautiful, they were a dark colour, but if you looked closely, you would find that deep within his eyes, there was another beautiful shade of dark green, much like a beautiful piece of jade after being washed with water.

Her interaction with Nathan had only been a few minutes during the elevator malfunction. She had given him a light in the darkness.

After she got out of the elevator, Kendall had forgotten about the incident and Nathan, her 'comrade-in-arms' who had shared a difficult time with her.

But Nathan was different. He not only held the nightlight and waited for her at the elevator every day, but after hearing her praise the Sinclair family's villa, he immediately invited her to stay.

He was not an autistic boy, he was clearly a gentle and kindhearted living angel. Anyone would be touched by such pure kindness, and Kendall was no exception.

She even felt a little softhearted and spoke to him in a gentle tone. "This is your home. I have my own home, you know? Everyone has their own home. I have to go back to my place, too. Thank you for your kindness. Be a good boy and let go of my wrist."
